Melissa Needs Your Help on Breaking Dawn
According to MTV, Melissa Rosenberg needs some advice on Breaking Dawn.
Have a thought or two about how Breaking Dawn, the final installment of the Twilight Saga, should play out on the big screen? Of course you do; what loyal Twi-hard doesn’t?
Well, good news—Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg wants to hear about it!
The scribe recently admitted to MTV that she’s struggling with the script for the two-part Twilight finale, which begins filming in the fall. Apparently, Rosenberg feels the script is in danger of becoming cluttered, due to the number of new characters she needs to introduce:
“It’s extremely challenging to introduce those new characters because you already have quite a slew of characters to service. The Cullen family is large, the wolf family is large, you have three leads … finding room for all of them is a challenge. For me, it is about pulling forward the ones that are essential and really making sure they have a presence.”
While Rosenberg hopes that all of the characters “will be there in one shape or another,” she’s throwing the floor—or at least her Facebook page—open to suggestions. And the screenwriter notes that she definitely takes fan input seriously:
“I ask people to really weigh in with what are their favorite scenes in the books, what’s important to them. And there generally seems to be a consensus about one scene or another. It’s really helpful for me and I’ll interact with them sometimes.”

Zac Efron vs. Robert Pattinson: Who’ll Be the Leading Leading Man?
Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson need no introduction. They have become household-names and their popularity ratings are through the roof, and not with just the teen scene. So the question is, who will be the leading man?
Check out EOnline for their thoughts on the winner(s).Efron Wins! “If he plays his cards right, he could easily be the next Leonardo DiCaprio,” says tween-marketing specialist Ashley Dos Santos.
In addition to possessing the ability to inspire killer soundbites (like the one above), Efron can memorably model swim trunks, honorably acquit himself in an art-house movie (Me and Orson Welles), and credibly, and non-sleezily, talk strip clubs with Jimmy Kimmel. In other words, the 22-year-old is a credit to his own peer group.
“When you look at him in interviews, he has a certain approachability,” Dos Santos says. “I think if he can prove his acting chops, Efron will definitely gain acceptance among twentysomethings.”
One advantage he’s got over Pattinson? The High School Musical grad has moved off the covers of the OMG!-ing Bops of the world, per Dos Santos, while Pattinson remains in their grip, thanks to the not-yet-done Twilight franchise.
Pattinson Wins! OK, so maybe some of Team Edward’s audience is still on the young side. But at least it was never on the Wildcat-crazed tween side.
“Zac has the same ‘problem’ as Miley Cyrusin aging up the audience,” youth-marketing consultant Allison Ellis said in an email. “[Pattinson] never had this issue because audiences never met him until Twilight.”
And while Remember Me didn’t break any box-office (or critical) records, Pattinson’s world-famous mug helped the romantic weepie ultimately gross more than triple its budget. (In a crowded weekend at the multiplex, the jury’s out on whether Charlie St. Cloud will top Remember Me‘s own modest domestic opening weekend.) In any case, Pattinson is money—or at least money enough to land Reese Witherspoon for his new leading lady.
Also, his new haircut(for the Witherspoon movie, Water for Elephants)? Not a bad answer to Efron’s torso.

The Dead Weather explains their involvement with 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' soundtrack
'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' OST - Summit Ent./Atlantic Records
So, when the news came down that The Dead Weather's "Rolling in on a Burning Tire" would become a part of the album, some weren't very surprised (though quite excited).
Still, the band has done few if any interviews about their involvement with the album, until now.
Chicagoist did an interview with the band recently where they revealed the way that they became a part of the album.
Alison Mosshart (lead singer) explained, "We were in the studio in Nashville at the time, recording Sea of Cowards. Rolling in on a Burning Tire was going to be the last track on the album; then we got asked to submit something to Twilight. It seemed like the right kind of track for it. We submitted it and they said they wanted it exclusively, so we recorded another track to take its place on the album."
The song ended up being a backing to a "Victoria and Riley" moment, and it did seem quite appropriate for that moment in the film.
After having seen the movie, though, she found that the song ended up being "chopped" and that "[i]t sounded like they used every bit of the song but spun it down into 10-seconds."
Still, Mosshart agrees that having the song on the Eclipse album does open up the opportunity to garner new fans. "I'm ok with tweens hearing our music. However they get to hear it," she explained
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' character choice plans for Melissa Rosenberg explained
'Breaking Dawn' by Stephenie Meyer - Little, Brown Books
Among the new characters, some were paramount to the story - the Denalis, the Amazonian coven, Garrett, etc. - and the filmmakers for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 are going to have a weighty burden if they try to present us with each and every one of them.
According to Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter for the two scripts)'s interview with MTV, there is a plan in place as to how to tackle this.
"[S]he hopes 'all of them will be there in one shape or another,'" MTV explains.
In the meantime, she wants to hear what fans have to offer in that arena as well. Her Facebook page has served as a communication tool between herself and fans of the series, and she explained to MTV that she does take notes from what Twilight fans have to say on that page.
"I ask people to really weigh in with what are their favorite scenes in the books, what's important to them . . . And there generally seems to be a consensus about one scene or another. It's really helpful for me and I'll interact with them sometimes."
Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight' becomes thirteenth novel to pass two million in U.K. sales this century
'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer - Little, Brown Books
According to The Bookseller, "Stephenie Meyer follows in the footsteps of J K Rowling, Dan Brown and Mark Haddon - the only other authors to have achieved the two-million-in-the-21st-century feat."
Quite a group to be a part of, no?
Another interesting statistic offered by the source hones in on just how much of a per capita impact the series has had on U.K. fans.
"Last year, one in every 47 books bought in the UK was penned by the US novelist [Stephenie Meyer], while almost 20 pence in every pound spent on a children's fiction title went towards one of her Twilight novels."

Stephenie Meyer talks 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' romance
'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Kimberley French/Summit Ent.
Still, in keeping with Edwards "old school" nature, things did not progress beyond second base (arguably), and when at the fansite junket for Eclipse, Stephenie Meyer explained why that was (in the book, and subsequently in the film).
"Edward was born in 1901. And in his mind — he understands the world more clearly than we do. He hears everybody’s thoughts. But to him, this is kind of a…for him it’s a very disrespectful… And he can’t get away from the taboos of his youth. It would be wrong to take advantage of her, in his mind. And obviously, she has a completely different viewpoint. Her viewpoint of it is very modern. She knows that she is with him forever, and she doesn’t see his point. But he just comes from a different place. And I really like, every place I could put in, that would really date him. Because I like when he is…..109," she explained.

Seattle Art Museum to host Quileute legend exhibit
'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Kimberley French/Summit Ent.
Starting August 14th, according to Seattle PI, the Seattle Art Museum will host a Behind the Scenes: the Real Story of Quileute Wolves exhibit.
According to the exhibit's listing on SAM's website, "The wolf is central to the cultural beliefs of the Quileute Native Peoples of coastal Washington, and wolf imagery is prominent in their art forms. According to oral traditions, the first Quileute were changed from wolves by the Transformer, Kwati; those ancestral beginnings figure significantly in the Quileute world view, even today . . . This exhibition consisting of about 30 objects seeks to provide a public platform for the display and interpretation of art works that represent Quileute wolf mythology specifically, and also the larger sphere of their beliefs about spirituality and transformation."
The exhibit will open "with a performance by a Quileute song and dance group . . . [and] Brotherton said she hopes 'Twilight' fans will visit the exhibit, and that teachers will capitalize on the craze in the classroom."
