‘Twilight’ Receives Honorable Mention
In celebration of its thirtieth anniversary, Variety reports, the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) has chosen thirty of the most significant independent films from the past thirty years, and Twilight received honorable mention.
Movies like Slumdog Millionaire, Juno, Dances With Wolves, and Summit Entertainment’s The Hurt Locker were chosen among the thirty films considered most significant from the independent film world, and Twilight was among three to receive honorable mention (others included Bowling For Columbine and Memento)

And a wonderful happy birthday today to miss Renesmee Carlie Cullen! In celebration of her birth, MTV has created a list of scenes they are looking forward to most in Breaking Dawn that feature the dear child Nessie. Here are their picks:

Sorry, Nessie, but this is one we’re dying to see. How will Bill Condon and Melissa Rosenberg make the birthing scene terrifying without making you seem like a monster? After all, you become one of the most beloved characters in the film by “Part 2.” We’re glad that’s their challenge to deal with and not ours!
2. Jacob’s imprint
Once again, this is a challenge we do not envy Taylor Lautner for having to deal with: falling madly in love with a newborn baby right out of the womb after just one look. Hopefully it will come across as beautifully in the film as it does in the book and doesn’t just end up being really creepy. Also, we’re really interested to see what exactly Jacob will imprint on, which leads us to our next item.
3. CGI or actual person?
This has been the big question all along: Will Renesmee be CGI or an actual girl (or many girls, we guess)? To use a CGI newborn instead of a cute, cuddly little baby seems like the wrong choice, but also, how else will they be able to get across the very many unique characteristics that Renesmee has? We’ll be interested to see what the crew comes up with.
4. Supernatural abilities
Renesmee is supposed to be a completely unique creature, and she is definitely something we’ve never seen in the “Twilight” universe before. It will be interesting to see what special effects are used to represent her abilities on the big screen, and how much time will be spent developing how special Renesmee actually is. After all, that will pretty much be the main plot line for the second film.

Obviously some of you are going to think that Peter Facinelli is on the list to placate the “Twilight” fans. This is MTV; you’re a big part of our audience. No. Facinelli is actually a strong actor, he could be made up to resemble the former prez and, as he’s proven in “Twilight,” he can play an older man as well as he does a younger man. A good pick for capturing Reagan at the varying stages of his life.

Breaking Dawn Vancouver Filming Starts February 2011!
We previously posted the Stand Up To Cancer charity auction on Ebay to visit the Breaking Dawn set in Vancouver, Canada. More information on the filming dates in Vancouver for the winner of the auction are from February 1, 2011 through the end of March 2011!
The winning bidder and guest must sign a non-disclosure agreement and photos will be taken for you on site, but no cameras/camera phones will be allowed on the set. Auction is not open to members of the press. The experience will take place between February 1, 2011, and the end of March 2011, when the crew is filming on the Vancouver set. The specific date within this range will be determined based on the film’s production schedule and winning bidder’s availability. The winning bidder must be 18 or older, but there is no minimum age for the guest. Tickets must be used together in conjunction with this experience, and are good for one round-trip flight with first class seats for two people departing from any airport Virgin America flies (including international cities) and arriving at Seattle, Washington. Winner and guest must possess appropriate travel documents for travel to Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC.This is an awesome charity and what a wonderful opportunity for a lucky fan! Two New Rumored Breaking Dawn Cast Members?
IMDb has listed two new ‘rumored’ cast members to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Drew Roy is rumored to play Nahuel and Guri Weinberg is listed to play Stefan. The Twilight Examiner’s Amanda Bell has information on these two rumored cast members.
The first is Drew Roy, who the site notes is “rumored” to play “Nahuel.” That character, if you can’t quite place the name, is the one which [*spoiler alert*] which comes in at the very end as proof that “Renesmee” wasn’t the only one of her kind in the world and that she would grow up to normal size like the mortal that she is. As the Twilight Saga Wiki points out, ”Nahuel is described as an extremely handsome young latin man with rich dark brown skin, eyes the color of warm teak, and extremely attractive features. He wears his black hair in braid past his shoulders.” Drew Roy is a film and TV veteran of Hannah Montana, Greek, and others, and you can check out a picture of him here.[Source: IMDb, TwilightExaminer.
The second is Guri Weinberg, who IMDb.com has listed as “Stefan.” “Stefan” was one of the two Romanian vampires who had a particular distaste for the “Volturi” and hoped to see them fall once and for all. Per Twilight Wiki, “He has black hair and dresses in all black.” Guri Weinberg has been in films like Munich and You Don’t Mess With The Zohan. A good photo of him is available here.

For Twilight fans, Christmas is going to come a few weeks early this year. Summit announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third movie in the highly popular teen vampire/werewolf saga, will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on December 4, 2010.UK DVD Special features:
In keeping with the successful release strategies of the first two movies, Summit will be releasing Eclipse on a non-traditional release day and will hype the release with a special midnight availability. So, whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob, one thing both camps can agree upon is that they’ll be staying up late on Friday December 3 to make sure they are the first ones to own the latest offering.
Summit will be releasing two versions in both DVD and Blu-ray formats. There will be a movie only version ($28.99 DVD / $34.99 Blu-ray suggested retail) and a feature-laden 2 Disc Special Edition ($32.99 DVD / $40.99 Blu-ray suggested retail).
