Hi Welcome to the Twilight Universe blogger. This blogger is all about Twilight. The cast, Books, movies, everything, and anything Twilight. And all the latest Twilight news about the cast, ect.
Back in December every media outlet reported that Eclipse hunk Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) and his Valentine’s Day co-star, Taylor Swift, had broken up. There relationship was NEVER actually confirmed by either party, but never denied. However, it was apparent that the two went their separate ways as we no longer seen them photographed together, etc.
New pictures have now surfaced of what we liked to call Taylor Squared, meeting for lunch today! Here is what PopSugar has to say about the lunch date -
Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift headed out to lunch at The Farm in Beverly Hills today, where they were chaperoned by none other than her mom. Afterward, they exited separately but hopped into the back of the same car and sped off together. Last night, Swift was seen out bowling with Glee’s Cory Monteith, which sparked rumors of romance, but today it’s all about her former flame.
Check out the awesome featurette for Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning’s new movie The Runaways, which hit theatres last week but only on limited release
Alex Meraz recently tweeted a picture of himself and Eclipse cast member Daniel Cudmore on board a Private Plane! The lucky duo were headed to Norfolk, VA -
We previously reported that Eclipse Vampire (aka Victoria II) is currently in Vancouver shooting her new movie now titled the Untitled Seth Rogen Project (ummm ..Ok…), alongside her Eclipse cast mate Anna Kendrick (aka Jessica Stanley).
Boo Boo Stewart (aka Seth Clearwater) attended the premiere of How To Train Your Dragon in Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheater on March 21st. Boo Boo also attended LA Rocks Fashion Week for Lauren Elaine Fall 2010 Black Label at the Key Club on March 22nd in West Hollywood.
Jackson Rathbone (aka Jasper Hale) and his costar in The Last Airbender, Nicola Peltz, appeared in a commercial for The Kids Choice Awards!! Nicola practices her slime bending with Jackson. The Kids’ Choice Awards will air live on Saturday, March 27 on Nickelodeon.
This reminds me of Jackson in his Disney days. LOL!! You can slime me any day Jackson!

Amazon.com has the motion picture soundtrack, The Twilight Saga:Eclipse available for pre-order!
No release date or track listing, nor CD cover has been announced as of yet. The price for the CD is $13.99
There is a newly listed car on Ebay causing quite the fuss. Apparently there is a seller who states that she has the car that they used as Edward Cullen’s in Twilight. Now we all know that there was a Volvo given away last year on the Tyra Banks Show, which was Edward’s car from Twilight.
It is quite possible that this is the real deal. In most movie sets, they use more then one car. Just in case something happens to one of them, or if they need the car for multiple shots.
Bidding starts at $24,000 US. I find it somewhat sketchy that one one has bid on it yet. I also thought it was strange that in the description it states that the car was originally rented by Twilight Productions -
THIS IS THE ACTUAL CAR USED IN THE MOVIE TWILIGHT. The car was rented by Twilight Productions LLC for production in the motion picture “Twilight” from 03/03/2008 through 05/06/2008. The car was leased by the studio in 06/2008 and returned to the original car dealership in 02/2009. I purchased the car just days after it hit the showroom floor.
Peter Facinelli was recently interviewed by Ryan McKee for Moviefone at the New Moon DVD Release Party at Best Buy in New York City.
“Honestly, I’m so unaware of that,” Facinelli says about his growing fame. “I look so unlike Carlisle, I’m always surprised when someone recognizes me on the street.”
That may be true, but just outside the store, Twi-girls cannot wait for the opportunity to get close enough to smell what scent he’s wearing and get an autographed copy of the DVD. They can no doubt recognize him across a crowded mall. In less than an hour, they will be competing for his attention as he asks ‘Twilight’ trivia questions and they scream the answers like ’60s girls at a Beatles show. How did you get stuck with being here? Did you draw straws with the other Cullens?
I won it in a raffle! We put our names in a hat and mine was picked. No, actually, I was out here doing press for ‘Nurse Jackie’ and they asked me to do it and I said, “Sure, it sounds like fun.” Do ‘Twilight’ fans quote anything to you most often?
“Whose going to want you now?” [Laughs] No, actually, I get asked to say, “Animal attack.” When you took the role as Carlisle, did you read the whole series?
Well, I read the first book before meeting with Catherine Hardwicke, just to see what it was about. I fell in love with it. When I got the role, I read the second and third book immediately. The fourth book hadn’t come out yet. When it did, I listened to it on audio book. It was like listening to a bedtime story. Not because the book was boring, but because the person’s voice kept lulling me to sleep. Do your daughters read the books?
My 12-year-old has read the first two books. I’ll probably give her the third one for her 13th birthday at the end of June, so she’s ready for the movie. My 7-year-old has not read any of them, but I was just thinking it might be fun to get the audio books and have her listen to them. As long as you get a more exciting voiceover actor reading it.
[Laughs] Yeah, maybe I should just read it to her.
Do you have a favorite vampire? I like Count Chocula and the Count from ‘Sesame Street.’ [Laughs] Count Chocula’s awesome, man. He’s got to make a comeback. I haven’t seen him for awhile. Now that you know you’ll have to play the flawless Carlisle for at least two more films, do you ever find yourself screaming, “Watch out for my face, my beautiful face!”?
Not really, but my daughter did headbutt me in the nose and it swelled up like Marlon Brando. For a month I looked like that before [it] finally going down. But before it did, I thought, “Ah, great, now I have to get a nose job because I can’t play Carlisle as Brando.” Can I ask why she headbutted you?
She’s three years old and we were watching ‘Spider-Man.’ Some scary parts came on and I went to close her eyes, but she likes the scary parts so she started fighting me saying, “I want see. I want to see.” And she headbutted me in the nose. I have a picture of it! For the next roughly six minutes Fascinelli scrolls through hundreds of photos on his iPhone until he finally finds it. And he’s right, he does look like a prettier version of Brando. How is your career different than what you thought it would be when you first began working in the mid-90s?
When I began, my agents wanted to send me out for every Italian role available because my last name ends with an ‘i.’ But I only wanted to do non-Italian roles because I am Italian. For me, that’s the fun of acting. I didn’t want to be typecast. And now, when I look back at my roles like Mike Dexter, next to Carlisle, next to Dr. Coop, next to ‘Scorpion King,’ if I put all those characters in a room, it’s a diverse bunch. So I feel like I’m doing what I set out to.
Dude! I love Count Chocula!! LOL! This was a great interview! ‘Animal attack’! Hahahaha! My favorite line was from Can’t Hardly Wait…”Aman-DUH!’ LOL! He was a great Mike Dexter.
Thanks Andi @ Moviefone! Check out the video with the fans outside waiting at the NYC New Moon DVD Release Party!

The DVD launch of NEW MOON commenced this past Saturday morning with 7,000 retail locations nationwide taking part in events at midnight giving fans their first chance to obtain a DVD of the film.Thousands of TWILIGHT fans across the nation participated in the “NEW MOON at Midnight” event and some were treated to surprise appearances by members of the cast as well as the film’s director. Other cast members of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON made appearances nationwide including Kiowa Gordon and Tinsel Korey in Cincinnati; Charlie Bewley in Denver; Chaske Spencer and Tyson Houseman in Atlanta; Daniel Cudmore in Houston; and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg in Seattle.
Summit Entertainment’s Co-Chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger stated, “Once again the incredibly dedicated fans of the TWILIGHT SAGA came out in massive numbers this weekend for the opportunity to be one of the first take home the second movie in the series. As we have said all along, the fans are what make this franchise and we once again thank them for their support.”
“The support that we have received from our retail partners in accommodating the incredible demand for the title has been nothing short of amazing,” said Steve Nickerson, Summit’s President of Home Entertainment. “The ground we have broken with in-store partnerships and the availability of this title has been a positive influence on the retail DVD business.”
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, directed by Chris Weitz and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, was released in theatres on November 20, 2009 and has since grossed over $705 million worldwide. In the film, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Following Edward Cullen’s (Pattinson) departure from Forks, Washington, Bella discovers his image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. In time Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob Black (Lautner) who has a supernatural secret of his own.
The third installment of the TWILIGHT franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will be released in theatres throughout North America on June 30, 2010.
Last year, when Twilight came to DVD, the sales were impressive, and this year, with the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on DVD, the numbers are even better.
According to a recent press release from Summit Entertainment, over 4 million copies of New Moon on DVD were sold during opening weekend alone.
Last year, opening weekend for Twilight meant sales of around 3.8 million units. Twilight went on to become the top selling DVD of the year with over 9 million copies sold.
According to the release, there were about 7,000 midnight sales events specially crafted for New Moon, several of which were attended by New Mooncast members.
Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger, Co-Chairmen of Summit, had this to say about New Moon's opening weekend success: "Once again the incredibly dedicated fans of the TWILIGHT SAGA came out in massive numbers this weekend for the opportunity to be one of the first take home the second movie in the series. As we have said all along, the fans are what make this franchise and we once again thank them for their support." Summit's Home Entertainment President Steve Nickerson had this to say about retailers participating in New Moon's opening weekend sales. "The support that we have received from our retail partners in accommodating the incredible demand for the title has been nothing short of amazing . . .The ground we have broken with in-store partnerships and the availability of this title has been a positive influence on the retail DVD business." New Moon has taken in over $700 million worldwide, and, of course, this is only a prelude to what we can expect from this film's fare over the course of the year.
Last night, the Official Twilight Facebook page annnounced that the theatrical one sheet poster for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse would be revealed exclusively on the Twilight Tracker application, and today it has been released to all Twilight fans.
You've of course seen posters for Eclipse either at theaters or online before, but this is the first theatrical poster (featuring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner).
The poster includes a tagline for Eclipse that reads "It all begins . . . with a choice."
Re-reading Eclipse over the past few weeks in our quote discussions, we have seen that the book is certainly one centered on Bella realizing the consequences of her choice to not only be with Edward but to ultimately become a vampire.
That said, the tagline fits rather nicely into the story of the film, don't you think?
Kellan Lutz ("Emmett Cullen" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) might not have gotten that Conan The Barbarian role he was after, but he'll still get to be larger than life on the big screen this year as Poseidon in War Of The Gods.
According to ComingSoon.net, Lutz will appear in the film alongside Henry Cavill (who was Stephenie Meyer's original idea for Edward Cullen - "[t]he only actor I've ever seen who I think could come close to pulling off Edward Cullen"), Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke.
The film will be distributed by Universal Pictures and will begin production in April of this year.
The full image of Remember Me and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Robert Pattinson's Madame Tussauds wax figure has been revealed.
The figure is scheduled for unveiling tomorrow at Madame Tussauds in both London, U.K. and New York City, New York.
According to Pattinson Online, "The first 100 fans who arrive to see Rob’s wax figure on the day it is unveiled in NY will receive free Pattinson and Twilight gear, as well as free admission to the attraction" but Pattinson himself will not be attending the unveiling. Madame Tussauds' Facebook page announced that "Pattinson’s figure is dressed in black trousers and fitted shirt. A jacket in a contrasting color finishes off his young, hip look. R-Pattz’s wax likeness also sports the actor’s signature tousled locks, which fans are invited to run their fingers through. Each strand of hair was inserted one-by-one by the Tussauds studio artists, who created the figure. They spent hundreds of hours studying photos and watching video footage of Pattinson to create the incredibly lifelike figure, which is posed standing up with hands on hips and will be housed in the “Opening Night Party” section of Madame Tussauds New York."
To ring in the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on DVD in the U.S., Summit Entertainment collaborated with local retailers to create those infamous New Moon DVD parties with scattered cast member appearances across the country.
In the United Kingdom, however, distributor E1 Entertainment hosted a different type of celebration: the "World Wolf premiere."
According to a press release that Twilighters Anonymous posted, "The first ever ‘World Wolf Premiere’ has been hosted in Longleat Safari Park as wolves watched their counterparts in action on the big screen for the DVD & Blu-ray release of the phenomenally successful The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Monday 22nd March).
"Film company E1 Entertainment previewed the vampire vs. werewolf sequel - starring Kristen Stewart, Brit star Robert Pattinson and US talent Taylor Lautner - on a 16sqm screen in one of the country’s onlywolf enclosures, with the unique screening deemed a howling success by the pack of 13 Canadian wolves at the park in Wiltshire . . . 'While they weren’t so interested in the romance - the scenes of the wolves certainly got their attention and prompted a series of howls as the film went on.'"
We know tons of you are totally stoked for the release of Eclipse this June, so we HAD to post this just released vid featuring a sneak preview of the flick. Enjoy!

Here is one they list: 1. Rob on Robmania In part one of the extensive six-part documentary (titled “Life After Twilight”), New Moon’s cast talk about the craziness that ensued after the first film debuted and how the fervent fandom changed their lives. Between shots from the Twilight premiere and the infamously raucous Comic-Con panel, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Justin Chon, and more of their co-stars reminisce from the New Moon set on how Twilight changed everything. Best of all, Rob addresses his fans, who have come to worship Edward Cullen so much that they now, as he says, “defend my honor in reality.”

Here is an excerpt: How do you condense an 800-page book into a two hour movie? MR: “Very carefully. You start with, and you end with, what is the emotional journey for these characters. That is the most important thing to capture, that is the only thing to capture. Everything else is up for grabs, but you must take these characters on the same emotional journey that they took in the book, and hence take the audience on the same emotional journey that they took in the book and that’s the goal, you hope that you achieve that. some people would say I did, some people would say I don’t.”
The Independent has an interview with Peter Facinelli.

Here is an excerpt: How have you coped with the attention from fans that Twilight must have brought you? It doesn’t really affect me on a daily level. I don’t get mobbed like Robert Pattinson (who plays his step-son Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga). I really enjoy corresponding with fans. Any time you meet someone who is excited about your work it’s gratifying. It’s better than having people throw rotten tomatoes at you! The most attention I get is kids ringing the doorbell of my house. Why do you think people are so interested in vampires and the supernatural? I think there’s a sensuality about vampires. A monstrousness. They offer up eternal life in exchange for blood. There’s something intense about wanting someone so much that you have to devour them. The biting of the neck. It’s sexy.
Monsters and Critics has an interview with Cameron Bright.

Here is an excerpt: M&C – Your character Alec the Volturi only appears briefly in New Moon but we’ll see more of him in Eclipse. How did you flesh him out aside from the book and script? CB - It’s hard to say what I added. All these characters are so multi-dimensional, but you can do what you want. No one knows how to play a vampire; you can really play it however you want. No one character in Twilight is the same, that’s what so great about it.
This just in from Little Brown:
“The graphic novel adaption of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight sold over 66,000 copies in its first week, the largest debut for a graphic novel in the US, according to publisher Yen Press. Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1, illustrated by Korean artist Young Kim, already broke the record for largest first printing for a graphic novel with 350,000 copies.
“We are absolutely thrilled to see such a historic debut for the Twilight graphic novel,” said Kurt Hassler, Publishing Director of Yen Press. “For many of Stephenie’s fans, this incarnation of Twilight is their first experience with graphic novels, and we sincerely hope that it will help foster a lifelong appreciation of the craft.”
The release date for the second volume is forthcoming.”

No one character in Twilight is the same, that’s what so great about it. M&C – The Twilight storm is so over the top. What do you think about the fans have reacted to it? CB - It’s amazing, the things I’ve gotten to do – travel to Australia, go to Twilight conventions around the world, and meet people who’ve been following me and watching my career since I was 6. I’m 17 and I live in a town of 100,000 people and not very many people get to do that. People ask me if I’d turn back because of the hype but I don’t regret anything I’ve done in my life. If I can’t walk down the street, there is a possibility that I would turn into Robert Pattinson, I would regret it. But no one strong armed me into doing this and no one really cares.”

There’s also another interview on Lucidforce.
The annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice awards are coming up this weekend(vote below). Last year Twilight won as best book and Taylor Lautner was there to pick up the award on behalf of Stephenie Meyer. Somehow Taylor managed not to get slimed. This year, according to some well spotted commercials and a press release, it looks like Jackson Rathbone is going to be there promoting The Last Airbender, which started out as a Nickelodeon series.
There are commercials starring Jackson and Nicola Peltz(his co-star). Somehow we are thinking that Jackson, unlike Taylor, is not going to be able to avoid the green goo! via the Racebending LiveJournal Community
According to the press release:
“The 23rd annual “Kids Choice Awards” are set to air live on Saturday, March 27th and its packed with more stars than some of the recent high-profile Hollywood award shows. Among the stars announced as presenters for the awards are Tina Fey, Katy Perry, and Robert Downey Jr.
Fey will appear with Steve Carell, who both star in the upcoming comedy “Date Night.” Also on hand to promote their upcoming summer movies to the tween set are Robert Downey Jr. of “Iron Man 2,” Dev Patel and Jackson Rathbone of the upcoming “The Last Airbender,” and Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan of “The Karate Kid,” among others.”
It’s a good thing that there were record breaking temperatures in New York City the night of the New Moon DVD release. It was near 70 degrees. Otherwise the people lined up on the street outside of Best Buy would have frozen waiting their turn to get into the store to see Peter Facinelli!

Julia Jones, Chaske Spencer, Justin Chon, Gil Birmingham, Alex Meraz, Boo Boo Stewart and others are again trying to bring attention to the plight of the Sioux Nation.
Chaske Spencer in an interview with Indian Country Today explains that the problem comes down to a basic need of water.
“The current water system is outdated and operating at capacity, leaving the tribe no room for economic expansion and preventing its housing authority from building new homes. To build a new water infrastructure is estimated to cost over $500 million dollars. This was promised to the Sioux people over 50 years ago and this allocation would put a long-term solution in place and give the Lakota Sioux people an opportunity to prosper. Without water, the most basicbuilding block of life and society, the people of the Lakota Sioux Reservation have little hope of impacting their situation in a way where they may prosper and thrive.
Since the late 1950’s the tribe has been forced to move from their original Tribal Head Quarters, known as the Old Agency on Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, which was located on the river bottom. The Tribal leaders during this time, built schools, hospitals and their own police department with tribal dollars. All is under water now. The book “Dammed Indians” shows how the Pick-Sloan Act forced tribal people up and down the Missouri River. This was done to make way for the Dam to make Hydro Power for the government. The precious resource of water is utilized to generate billions of dollars worth of electricity yearly, for the United States Government.
Currently, without a water infrastructure, they cannot build new homes and cannot build on any new development. The system is keeping an impoverished nation, impoverished.”

File this under “just when you thought you’d heard of everything”…So to celebrate the release of New Moon on DVD in the UK…OK, usually we don’t try to editorialize too much around here…but seriously…I can’t help it…I’m just laughing too hard in a kind of freakishly punch drunk way…just read the press release and watch the clips…and if you value your computer monitor…PUT DOWN ALL LIQUIDS…you have been warned. It’s Pel writing blame me. This is officially the stupidest thing I have seen since the Renesmee womb and THAT is saying something. Below is the press release from the UK distributor that last year ran this promotion.
To mark the DVD & Blu-ray release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, E1 Entertainment has held the ‘World Wolf Premiere’ of the DVD to the wolves of Longleat Safari Park.
The first ever ‘World Wolf Premiere’ has been hosted in Longleat Safari Park as wolves watched their counterparts in action on the big screen for the DVD & Blu-ray release of the phenomenally successful The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Monday 22nd March).
Film company E1 Entertainment previewed the vampire vs. werewolf sequel – starring Kristen Stewart, Brit star Robert Pattinson and US talent Taylor Lautner – on a 16sqm screen in one of the country’s only wolf enclosures, with the unique screening deemed a howling success by the pack of 13 Canadian wolves at the park in Wiltshire.
The film, which is HMV’s highest pre-order title of all time, has taken over
£27 million since its theatrical release in November 2009 and is set to become one of the biggest home entertainment releases of 2010 thanks to the loyal following of ‘Twi-hards’ – fans of both Stephenie Meyer’s series of novels and films released so far.
Ian Turner, Deputy Head Warden at Longleat commented, “We’ve certainly never had a request like this before, so we were very intrigued to find out how the wolves would react to seeing their counterparts on screen. While they weren’t so interested in the romance – the scenes of the wolves certainly got their attention and prompted a series of howls as the film went on.”
E1 Entertainment Senior Product Manager Martin Gough added, “Whilst Twilight was all about the vampires, New Moon develops a new love interest for Bella and in doing so introduces a range of characters that are all werewolves.
Whilst we’re used to deafening screams for Robert Pattinson, it’s a nice change to hear howls of approval for the rest of the cast, including the screen wolves themselves.”
With more of the passion, action and suspense that made Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novels and the first movie smash hits, The Twilight Saga: New Moon is a spellbinding follow-up to the international box office phenomenon, and is out to own on DVD & Blu-ray from Monday 22nd March.”
The Hollywood Reporter has more details on the medical pilot that Rachelle Lefevre has been tweeting about. She most recently said, “I’m a little obsessed with my cast on this pilot. If we don’t go to series I might just ask them to run away with me anyway.” The cast includes Oscar winner Sissy Spacek, and is produced by John Wells, one of the masterminds of ER. According to the Hollywood Reporter:
“The Warner Bros. TV-produced project, written by Hannah Shakespeare and to be directed by Christopher Chulack, centers on a mobile team of volunteer doctors led by a driven visionary (Spacek) that travels the world and the U.S. helping those in need.
Deeply committed to her work, Spacek’s character, originally envisioned as a man, works around the clock, and expects her team to do likewise. Complicating things is her own cancer diagnosis, which requires agonizing chemo treatments at regular intervals, as well as her physician daughter’s (Rachelle Lefevre) decision to join the team.”

This frankly seemed a bit of a leap to us, that Twilight fans only want to see Twilight stars in Twilight related movies. The LA Times is claiming that “poor box office” returns on The Runaways and Remember Me are indicative of that. However are those box office returns truly poor? They are both independent movies, not mega-franchise or big studio pieces. For that matter, The Runaways isn’t even in wide release yet.
The only Twilight star who is attached to anything like that in the near future is Jackson Rathbone in The Last Airbender, and that doesn’t come out until after Eclipse. Valentine’s Day, a Gary Marshall big studio piece, with Taylor Lautner is currently the number three picture of the year. Adventureland was a coming of age indie film (dime a dozen) and Little Ashes (Dali or no Dali likeness) that bizarre caricature and bad reviews scared a lot of people off.
Don’t get us wrong, we love indie films, but not everyone does. It’s not a unique phenomena related to Twilight. Right now that is what the cast has booked. The better acid test will be Kellan Lutz in War of the Gods and Jackson Rathbone in Airbender.
According to the LA Times
“But there may be a deeper lesson here about Stewart: For all her acting versatility, when she strays from her “Twilight” wheelhouse, the fans don’t roll with her. That was, after all, also the message some experts gleaned from her first post-”Twilight” movie, “Adventureland,” which grossed just $16 million domestically despite getting some marketing play as a Stewart vehicle (and not three months after “Twilight” blew off the box-office doors). It’s a lesson that’s especially pointed with “Runaways” because Stewart, in inhabiting the role of Joan Jett, is in many ways picking up where Bella Swan left off. She’s playing the moody rebel in both, yet fans apparently only want to see her playing a certain kind ofmoody rebel.”
We think it’s rather insulting to Twilight fans to say that no one wants to see them in anything else. Was the same true of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings? In each of those incredibly successful series there were stars that rose to the next level and others who have wallowed in obscurity(self-imposed or otherwise).
To us what it comes down to is we want to see them in a good movie. If it comes down to plunking down money at the theater the whole story has to look like something we want to see, otherwise it’s a Netflix wait.
So what do you think of the LA Times story?
One of the media outlets in France held a contest for a lucky fan to win a date with a mystery guest star. The “mystery” wasn’t very hard to guess given the clues and Taylor Lautner was the date. Last year Peter Facinelli won over the heart of thousands when he stopped by the Naval Exchange and signed DVD’s for everyone. In fact he missed his flight because he refused to leave until every person got a signed DVD. This year the cast visiting the exchange has expanded. Local military families with appropriate Naval ID entered a lottery and 300 were chosen to meet the cast members. According to Hampton Roads:
“The Oceana Navy Exchange expects a cast member from “Twilight: New Moon” to make an in-store appearance from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, base officials announced… 300 customers will have chances to have their pictures taken with the mystery celebrity. ”
The stars appearing are Nikki Reed, Alex Meraz, Daniel Cudmore, Christian Serratos, and Tyson Housmen.
Catherine Hardwicke was honored at the Female Eye Film festival for making her mark in the film industry and notably kicking off the Twilight chain.
““One thing that we’ve noticed over the years is that female directors often make a transition from other parts of the industry. (Catherine) has a background in production design and art direction, and she evolved her skillet to the next level. She’s had a huge hit (with Twilight) but she’s also made an impact in the political arena — she didn’t direct the sequel. She’s a woman who has made her bones in a difficult industry.””
