New Still of Taylor Lautner and Denzel Whitaker from ‘Abduction’

Rob’s Interview with Criativa Magazine (Brazil)

New Robert Pattinson’s full translated interview with Criativa Magazine!
Robert is no fool. Wherever you are, the English actor, 24 years old invests on the role of romantic hero. It’s like that with Jacob Jankowski, the protagonist of Francis Lawrence’s film, based on the book by the Canadian Sara Gruen. In this drama, which takes place at a circus in the times of the Great Depression Era (1929-1939), Robert works with two Oscar winners actors Reese Witherspoon (best actress, Walk The Line) and Christoph Waltz (supporting actor for Inglorious Basterds). In this interview, the actor talks about his first love, the hatred that he has for paparazzi and a certain discomfort caused by the hysteria of fans.
How was working with so many wild animals? Did your conception of the circus changed after Water for Elephants, with regard to the way animals are treated?
I know many circus have a bad reputation because of this, but none of the animals we work with were circus animals, they were all actors. I know it must be very difficult because of the amount of injuries that the animals suffer. To teach horses tricks that they needed to know, it took months and months. If one got hurt, there was no substitute. Manage a circus is a precarious thing.
Was there a moment when you were scared of animals?
Once, with the zebras. They are impossible to tame. If they are tied, the simply pull the rope until they’re free and if they can’t get away, they start kicking. One ran towards me. It was part of a scene, and I got out of the way. Then everyone thought I was a pussy for running.
Francis Lawrence, the film’s director, said it was difficult to find a 23-24 year old man who was not too young for the role. And he said that you was already man – thoughtful, intelligent, caring, strong and confident. What makes a man a man?
I don’t know. I think that if you feel comfortable with who you are, then you’re good. I don’t know whether anyone ever gets to be a man.
Do you feel like an adult?
More or less and no way. It’s weird when people do a movie. It seems that you’re trapped in time bubbles. I feel that way, especially with the fame thing. You stop meeting new people. I never know anyone. You have the same conversations all the time, so you never change the same way that most people grow up. You know, you hear the various perspectives that people have about things, but you go through the same kind of banal things every time you talks with them.
Like this…
In the end, this ends up affecting your mind. You actually don’t know how to have a conversation with anyone about anything. If the person is not talking about you, you’re like, “Huh?” (Laughs).
Where do you go when you want to have a bit of normal life?
When you’re part of a movie, not only as an actor, you force yourself to attend meetings. People are forced to treat you like a true coach, then that’s what I do. If you’re just an actor, it’s very funny because people think they need to hide everything from you, all the time. It’s like, “Oh, he can’t be bothered with anything,” and this is bizarre. You’re like a little bird. Have security around all the time.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
I believe, completely.

Booboo Stewart Interview with Teen.com

Click on the image below to see a clip of Booboo in The Haunting Hour!
Teen.com interviewed Booboo Stewart about his role in R.L Stine’s (yep the Goosebumps person) The Haunting Hour:
Teen.com: Tell us a little bit about your episode of The Haunting Hour. What’s the premise?
Booboo: It’s all about the legend – I play Kai. And it’s about a legend where a boy sees a shark…and there’s been sightings of this shark in this pool and he doesn’t know why. We find out that it’s actually him. It was really fun to do, I had a great time. I swam so much! (laughs) I never swam so much in my life. My hands were so pruny afterward but it was so much fun.
Teen.com: Did you have to train extra hard to do all that swimming?
Booboo: I already knew how to swim. You know what’s a funny thing, actually, I didn’t know how to dive. I had never done that before. So the scuba divers that were there with the shark, they taught me how to dive for one scene and it was cool.
Teen.com: Let’s talk that shirtless scene. Were you used to filming without your shirt on from Twilight?
Booboo: I was kind of used to it from Twilight but mostly from doing all the photo shoots – not even from Twilight

The Boston Globe: Robert Pattinson Talks ‘Water For Elephants’ & ‘Breaking Dawn’ Leaked Photos

Breaking Dawn 3ea V5T7HkmVXHyMl1 Saki 4Tnp uB7sQ4S3TOVXjbuwRWawG1wyG0E2SYCPY8 zvznrI03oxZM1Qbbo lMP9yRXTKl rJfcbhK4Wg4DCXfHQW9lj Z 0oeY3Kp0BYbu7a pCPi3Bn85o0 The Boston Globe: Robert Pattinson Talks Water For Elephants & Breaking Dawn Leaked Photos breaking dawnThe Boston Globe has a great article and interview with Robert Pattinson during the Water For Elephants press junket.  Rob talked about working on Water For Elephants, Breaking Dawn, and the leaked photos.  Here are parts of the article in the Boston Globe.
“I take offense, in a way, on Rob’s behalf at the interest in his ability as an actor,’’ said Waltz, who won an Oscar last year for his brilliantly creepy portrayal of Nazi Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds.’’ “He’s an actor. He’s a grown-up. He is not some silly kid. Why does everybody expect something else? It’s unfair.’’
So Lawrence, who directed Will Smith in the 2007 apocalyptic thriller, “I Am Legend,’’ sat down with Pattinson to kick around ideas about the “Elephants’’ role and get to know him a little. Lawrence came away impressed. Then the director got him in front of a camera and came away, in a word, stunned.
“I thought he was right once I met with him for the role,’’ Lawrence recalls. “But then you suddenly see him onscreen that first day, and you kind of realize, holy [expletive], I think we’ve really found something here that’s pretty amazing.’’
“I like to think that I have quite good taste in movies, and I want to make the kind of movies that I’d like to see,’’ says the actor, who has previously named “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,’’ “The Exorcist,’’ and Godard’s “Prenom Carmen’’ among his favorites. “Water for Elephants’’ “is definitely in a direction of things I want to make,’’ he says. “I think it fills a need. I haven’t seen something like it for a while in the cinema, just the level of detail that people put into it, and artistry.’’
As evidence, he launches into stories about legendary production designer Jack Fisk, best known for his work with Terrence Malick; costume designer Jacqueline West; and the joy of working on a set that felt as if it had been created in the 1930s.
“I really felt like it was only about making a movie with this film, which was one of the big reliefs,’’ Pattinson says. “There’s going to be no sequels. And you just get people who are the best at their jobs and you tell them, ‘I just want you to do your best work in a creative way.’ ’’
More after the break! Minding the juggernaut That, of course, is not always the way it works on a franchise, especially a multi-billion-dollar juggernaut such as “The Twilight Saga.’’ Department after department has a say, and a vested interest, in how “Breaking Dawn,’’ the two-part finale of the series, looks and feels when it finally hits theaters — the first part this November, the second part next year.
Pattinson is both frustrated by and fiercely protective of the franchise that has made him a superstar. On the one hand, he grouses that after doing three of the films, “you’d think you’d get more power as an actor, but you get less and less and less.’’ On the other, he is obviously excited by the work he has done on “Breaking Dawn,’’ which is being helmed by Bill Condon.
Which is why today, amid the reporters and the film crews and the cold coffee, Pattinson is furious. Just a couple of days earlier, top-secret pictures from the “Breaking Dawn’’ film set had been leaked online. At this point, these movies are like his children. His costars, like family. For someone to hack in and spoil the surprise, to ruin it for the multitude of fans out there, well, Pattinson won’t have it.
“I’ve been sending out messages to all the good ‘Twilight’ fans to find out who [the hackers] are and kill them,’’ he says. He is joking mostly. But not completely. Pattinson’s got a lot riding on all these movies. He knows this time in the spotlight is precious. Because sooner or later, the circus packs up and moves on.

Director John Singleton Talks ‘Abduction’ & Taylor Lautner! Plus New Stills!

BlackFilm.com interviewed director John Singleton about his upcoming film Abduction starring Taylor Lautner.  John talked about working with Taylor.
It’s Taylor’s first lead role (outside of the ‘Twilight’ films) and a chance to show some range.
JS: It’s Taylor’s chance to really flex. The excitement about this is everyone loves this kid! But they don’t really know what he’s totally capable of doing. They don’t know he was a martial arts champion at the age of eleven. And that he’s physical. And that he’s actually funny. And that he’s charismatic and I was thinking they could see the potential in the ‘Twilight’ pictures then this is just like just letting it loose.
What did you do differently that would make him grow as an actor.
JS: What I did was really just brought him into my circle and have him really relax. We just watched movies together and talked about acting and I wanted him to see how there are people in the past that have been in the position that he’s like James Dean and Tom Cruise and young actors who evolved into young adulthood and the decisions that they make. And then we start just talking about the character. And he relaxed enough to improv for the first time. No one ever asked him to do these things. What’s amazing is that everyone doesn’t see how brilliant he is at his age at just picking up stuff. He’ll come and say, ‘I want to try something.’ And he never had a chance to do that. People just wanted him to look good. They didn’t want him to flex and do different stuff.

MTV HollywoodCrush: Robert Pattinson Loved Wearing 1930s Underwear, Says ‘Water For Elephants’ Costumer

Breaking Dawn picjacob2 280x391 MTV HollywoodCrush: Robert Pattinson Loved Wearing 1930s Underwear, Says Water For Elephants Costumer robert pattinsonMTV’s Hollywood Crush has an interview with the costume designer Jacqueline West for Water For Elephants.  She talked about how Robert Pattinson loved wearing the 1930s undies!
Yes, that’s right. Period underwear. Rob had to wear them to get in character for “WFE,” and apparently he was a big fan, according to costume designer Jacqueline West.
“He loved that I had period underwear for him,” she told Hollywood Crush recently (no doubt sparking the envy of girls EVERYWHERE). “Yes, and he loved putting that on every morning before he put his costume on, you know, he said that in his trailer, and he said it made him, it transported him to the ’30s. He said he got out of bed feeling like a different person.”
The underpants, along with his other period costumes, helped Rob step into the role of Jacob Jankowski, a vet student who joins the circus during the Great Depression after losing his parents, Jacqueline shared.
“I can see Rob, who is very languid, he’s very modern in his movements and he’s very cool. I could see him sort of kind of become Jacob and become a ’30s young man, who was, you know, gonna work hard to carve an existence in this circus,” she said.
Sorry, we’re still stuck on her description of languid, modern and cool Rob.
Sigh. Okay, now moving on.
Jacqueline also added that Rob, who was “manlier” than she expected (more on that next week!), carried the clothes very well.
“He would wear clothes so beautifully and you would see kind of a transformation, you know. If he put on those World War I combat boots, his work boots, you can see him stand differently. And I could tell, Rob would say, ‘Oh, this really feels right. This feels great.’”

Lisa Howard (Siobhan) Talks ‘Breaking Dawn’ With Broadway World

Breaking Dawn Lisa Howard 280x280 Lisa Howard (Siobhan) Talks Breaking Dawn With Broadway World breaking dawn Lisa  Howard (aka Siobhan/Irish Coven) talked about working on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn recently with Broadway World!
This week marks the release of Lisa Howard’s stunning new collection of William Finn songs, SONGS OF INNOCENCE AND EXPERIENCE, as well as a showcase at Birdland featuring the selections from the album and some special surprises, so now is certainly the best time to catch up with the 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE star before she takes on Mother Abbess in THE SOUND OF MUSIC and Paulette in LEGALLY BLONDE later this year. Additionally, Ms. Howard shares with me all about the filming of the highly anticipated conclusion of the TWILIGHT series, TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN Parts 1 & 2 in which she plays a central role: that of Siobahn, an ancient Irish vampire. William Finn, Dan Fogler, Bill Condon, Michael Sheen, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and stories about working with many more of her exciting co-stars and collaborators await in the complete conversation, but, first, here are her TWILIGHT-centric comments! Be sure to pick up the Finn album available at GhostlightRecords.com to enjoy Finn favorites old and new, plus the premiere of a number of songs from ROMANCE IN HARD TIMES, THE ROYAL FAMILY and the titular song cycle itself, SONGS OF INNOCENCE & EXPERIENCE.
PC: Moving to movies: you are making your feature film debut in one of the most hotly anticipated films of all time, TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN, yes?
LH: Yes, yes, I am! (Laughs.) Isn’t that crazy!
PC: What an accomplishment! And to work with Bill Condon – he’s a real Broadway baby; plus, he directed DREAMGIRLS!
LH: I think that’s probably why he even considered hiring me – because I am a Broadway gal and he understands our world, you know?
PC: Precisely.
LH: I think that may have even been the reason I was even considered.
PC: The theatre connection. What was the audition like? How did it come about?
LH: Jen, my manager, got me the audition. Of course, I was a huge TWILIGHT fan and I had read all the books and seen the movies. You know, I was like, “Oh, that sounds fun! Great!” never thinking that I would get it – even though I fit the character description perfectly, and that doesn’t happen all the time for a gal like me!
PC: Where did you audition?
LH: We went in and I put myself on tape and we sent it in. The next week, I got the call that I got the job.
PC: Wow.
LH: I know! It was kind of surreal. I was like, “What. Is. Happening?!” I was so excited.
PC: What was your audition piece?
LH: It’s actually just a scene that’s really not in the movie, but they obviously just wanted to seewhat I could do with it. It’s a scene between me and Edward. Do you know the story?
PC: I do, but why don’t you fill everyone in.
LH: Well, it’s when Bella’s having that baby and she’s half-vampire/half-whatever…
