Chicago Tribune: Robert Pattinson Talks About Working With Tai in ‘Water for Elephants’
Q: Not a lot of men connect with the movie so passionately. It’s not really what might be called a “chick flick,” but it’s very romantic and very beautiful.
I know. It’s strange. My dad loves it and he never reads anything. I think maybe because the reality of working in a circus? And then it can be so harsh … maybe (it’s) more relatable to men. But it’s not really a totally romanticized story. It’s impossible to romanticize.
Q: You’ve worked with werewolves in “Twilight.” What was it like working with Tai the elephant in this?
She’s incredible. She’s one of the best actresses I’ve ever worked with. She plays Rosie in the book, and that’s an incredible difficult part to play. It’s really integral to the story. It’s really difficult casting to find an elephant that could pull it off. … Plus, she does impressions.
Q: Seriously?
She does impressions of chickens and stuff. And her general attitude is crazy, but she was also just so calm. She could be in a massive crowd of people … but she just stayed totally calmed, looking quite cheerful all the time. She just needs a bit of hay and that’s it.
Q: You two have that in common, right? I’ve seen you very calm in massive crowds of screaming teenagers.
Yes, but I complain about it afterwards. She doesn’t complain about it; she is an incredible creature.

The Hottest Onscreen Couples
iVillage has put together a list of the hottest onscreen couples and a few familiar faces made the list!

Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon
‘Water for Elephants’
‘Water for Elephants’
This may be hard to hear, Twihards, but Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon’s star-crossed love affair in Water for Elephants just might give the Edward-Bella Twilight Saga romance a run for its money. As a veterinary student in search of a little circa-1930s adventure, R-Pattz joins a traveling circus and falls head-over-heels for the show’s gorgeous star (Witherspoon, naturally). The one tiny kink: She’s married to the circus’ volatile animal trainer (Christoph Waltz), who isn’t as enthused about their burgeoning love as the rest of us. Even if you’re among those who think Kristen Stewart is Rob’s one and only (both on screen and off), you have to admit that Pattinson and Witherspoon make quite the dashing pair. Just look at the longing in their eyes!

‘Twilight’
‘Twilight’
From Interview With a Vampire’s Brad Pitt to True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard, vampires have always possessed an appeal born of their broodiness, their eternal youth and their insatiable blood lust. Twilight’s real-life couple of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart make for such alluring lovers because their romance is both innocent in its purity and profound in its passion. When they shared their first kiss, you wished it were yours. It’s no surprise that the pair scored Sexiest Onscreen Chemistry honors in the 2nd Annual iVillage Entertainment Awards!
