Moviehole’s 10 Great Films Missed in 2010
Two movies with Twi stars are included in this list by Moviehole including Robert Pattinson in Remember Me and Anna Kendrick for Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
10. Remember MeSource: via Pattinsonstew
I know, I know, ‘but it’s got that guy with more gunk in his hair than Liz Hurley does in her nether regions’ but c’mon! many-a-good-actor have started out in the cinematic mailroom and graduated to an awe-impressive high-rise suite – just look at Robin ‘Mork’ Williams, Josh ‘Goonies’ Brolin, Tom ‘Bosom Buddies’ Hanks or Stephen ‘Evil Ed’ Geoffries! (Ok, bad example) – ain’t Robert Pattinson innocent until the gavel slams down!? This film, a heartrending relationship drama (it’s both about the rapport between a young couple and also one between a young man and his estranged father) that played to the tick of a 9/11 countdown, proved there’s much more to “Twilight” vamp Robert Pattinson than blank stares, sparkles and tree hopping. Quite simply, Pattinson was an eye-opener in this film. Skeptics need see it.
9. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Quite possibly the best video-game movie ever made…. That’s, funnily enough, not based on a video game. The problem with Edgar Wright’s film adaptation of the popular comic was that it’s, quite honestly, too original. Today’s audiences like to be spoonfed the same dull-tasting comfort food, and even from the trailers (not to mention early pics of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s funky amethyst tresses), it was clear we were in store for anything but (‘’Couples Retreat’’). Some of you really need to get out more often and experience the wonders that cinema has to offer.
Michael Sheen Admits “I’m a geek”
Michael Sheen is not embarrassed to admit he’s a bit of a technology nerd.Head to BelfastTelegraph to read the full article.
“I’m not a secret geek, I’m a completely open geek,” the actor admitted.
His new sci-fi movie Tron Legacy topped the UK box office this week, taking £1.97 million in its first three days.
In real life the sequel to the 1982 movie, which takes place inside ‘the grid’ of a computer, would make an appropriate home for the technology-loving star.
“I’m cursed with always wanting the latest gadget and breaking it as soon as it gets out of the box, pretty much,” Michael added, laughing.

An Early Look at ‘Water for Elephants’
Sara Gruen’s bestselling “Water for Elephants,” a love triangle set in a 1930s circus, is coming to the big screen. Although it’s not due in theaters until mid-April, the trailer is already out. Though there’s nothing wrong with watching it on a computer, it looks really fantastic projected in a movie theater (at least it did at the ArcLight, where I saw it this past weekend).Head to LA Times to read the full article.
The film stars Reese Witherspoon as a circus starlet, Robert Pattinson (famous for appearing in another literary adaptation) as the young veterinarian taken by her, and Christoph Waltz as her husband. Waltz won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role in “Inglorious Basterds,” and Witherspoon got a best actress Oscar for 2005’s “Walk the Line,” so there’s a good chance their performances will be strong. Some people aren’t as sure about Pattinson, whose appearance in the trailer is almost completely devoid of dialog. “It’s nearly impossible to judge from the trailer if Pattinson has any acting skills beyond that longing gaze thing,” writes our blog 24 Frames.
“Water for Elephants” was Gruen’s first historical novel. “I did all the research ahead of time,” she told Powell’s Books in an interview. “I needed to feel that I knew the subject matter in and out.” She did research into circuses, into various cultural sidelines of the 1930s, and into elephants themselves:
I got into the habit of walking up to elephant handlers at the circus and saying, “Hi. I’m writing a book. May I meet your elephant?” I got lucky twice.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
They may refuse to talk about it, but 2010 seemed to confirm long-simmering suspicions that RPattz and KStew had taken their onscreen love affair offscreen, thanks to a number of high-profile sightings over the course of the year. Who could forget when they kissed at the MTV Movie Awards in June and then spent the summer shooting separate flicks, still finding time to hang out together? Pattinson visited Stewart on the set of “On the Road,” and the pair flew the friendly skies together. They grabbed a meal together in L.A., which seems to be a very coupley thing to do. The two were also spotted kissing on the beach for a “Breaking Dawn” honeymoon scene.
