Nikki Reed Talks Independent Films

This summer Nikki Reed was interviewed at the Tribecca Film Festival. The footage was only just released. Believe it or not, all the Twilight Saga films are independent films, granted they make a ton of money but they are indie projects. Each one has had the ability to do things that Nikki talks about in the interview.

Amazon.com and ‘Eclipse’ Copies Sold

Sorry, Twilight fans: Edward and Bella’s latest cinematic adventure didn’t actually sell 40 million copies this holiday season.
That’s what Amazon implied in a press release it issued Monday, touting its holiday sales. But the eye-popping figure doesn’t hold up.
“For the holiday time period alone, Amazon customers bought enough copies of Eclipse for Edward Cullen to watch the movie 1,000 times a day for all 109 years of his life,” the company wrote.
CNNMoney ran the math on that claim: 1,000 x 365 days in a year x 109 years = a whopping 39.8 million DVDs. And that’s not even counting the extra days in leap years.
When we called to fact-check, Amazon (AMZN, Fortune 500) backed off on its numbers.
‘”The Amazon stat you inquired about this morning should’ve read ‘year’ not ‘day,’” a company spokeswoman replied via e-mail.
Doing the math that way — 1,000 viewings a year for 109 years — nets a much more reasonable 109,000 Eclipse DVDs sold.

“Bella” a Popular Pet Name For 2010

According to the site Petfinder.com, one of the top dog’s names of 2010 is Bella.

A name that continues to rise up the ranks for both canines and felines is “Bella,” likely to be attributed to the love for all-things-Twilight throughout the pop culture scene. It jumped from No. 6 to the No. 4 spot for dogs, and from No. 4 to No. 3 for cats. Meanwhile, “Rocky” sniffed its way to the top 10 list of dog names after last making the cut in 2007, and “Tiger” also pounced into sixth place for cats.

Dakota Fanning Films Twilight Finale With Robert Pattinson

Dakota Fanning joined her “Twilight” co-stars recently to film the final scenes of the latest vampire saga in Louisiana.
The final installment of the “Twilight, Breaking Dawn” saga has been split into two separate films.
Fans thought the films were being shot chronologically when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewert recently headed to Brazil to film their honeymoon scenes.
However with Dakota Fanning shooting the finale scenes of the vampire saga it seems that the finale for the second part of the final film has already been shot but isn’t expected to hit the screens for almost two years.
Fanning plays a powerful Volturi vampire Jane, who plays an integral role in the final stages of the film.
Fans will see her play out a confrontational stand off between Robert and Kristen’s characters.

In the flick, Jacob joins a circus as a vet and eventually falls in love with one of the stars of the show Marlena.”

The Twilight Saga has done a Harry Potter and released its final instalment in two parts. The first one is out in 2011 and should satisfy most teen romantics as brooding vampire hunk Edward finally gets it on with his human love Bella – not without marrying her first of course! But the couple still have to contend with evil vampire Volturi clan who are out for blood. It’s Romeo and Juliet for the new generation and the first half is out in November.

Water for Elephants One of the 10 Best Scripts of Year

2) WATER FOR ELEPHANTS
Genre: Period Drama/Love Story
Premise: (from IMDB) A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.
You know, this is one of those scripts that shouldn’t have roped me in the way it did. It’s basically a love story. But the great thing about Elephants is that it’s a love story wrapped in a loony dangerous unpredictable package – the Bizarro World version of Titanic. Not to mention it has the best villain I’ve read all year hands down (can’t wait to see what Waltz does with it). You’re not going to read anything like this again for a long time.

The Runaways’ One of the Most Unfairly Overlooked Movies of 2010

When I reviewed the movie back in March I called Kristen Stewart a modern James Dean. I’m standing by that. If you’ve only seen her in Twilight, you’ve probably assumed the worst about the future vampire bride, but in The Runaways Stewart is stupendous as real life, fem rocker Joan Jett. The rest of the movie around her, isn’t bad either. It’s a real, seedy, drug-infested, sex-soaked rise to rock and roll fame tale, except all the rockers just happen to be girls. The film focuses primarily on the story of Runaways front girl Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning) as she’s indoctrinated into the rock and roll lifestyle, then sexed up to sell records by the zany, scene-stealing Michael Shannon as manager Ken Fowler. But it’s Stewart Joan Jett who will really capture your attention, and she ends up carrying the movie. Stewart’s Joan lives and breathes guitar licks, as the true talent behind the music. The rock and roll scenes are toe-tapping fun and the tale of an all girl band manufactured, unleashed, and then run aground is as interesting and fucked up as it ought to be. You’d think any movie starring Kristen Stewart would be an instant sensation, yet somehow her Twilight fandom never really seemed to notice she was in it. Maybe it was the film’s hard R-rating which scared the overly chase Twilight crowd away. Whatever the reason, while the movie earned positive reviews, once it was released no one seemed to notice.
