MTV Rough Cut interviewed Robert Pattinson at the Twilight Saga Eclipse press junket this weekend about the upcoming Breaking Dawn!

With Summit Entertainment’s long-expected announcement that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be split into two films, “Twilight” fans breathed a collective sigh of “obviously.” But while the statement seemed to be released so it could coincide with Saturday’s “Eclipse” junkets, one member of the cast has reason to be opposed to Summit’s choice of timing: Robert Pattinson.  Turns out the man also known as Spunk Ransom was forced to admit that he hasn’t had a chance to read the final installment of “The Twilight Saga” since it was released two years ago due to his busy schedule, which includes his upcoming role in “Ben Ami.” Since filming is expected to begin this fall for “Breaking Dawn,” sounds like Pattinson had better get reading.

Pattinson was able to confirm, however, that “Breaking Dawn” will be following the path of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in having both of its films shot back-to-back. This bit of news was also expected but remained unconfirmed from Summit Entertainment’s press release last week.
“I’m glad they’re shooting them together at least because I think that would just be easier, doing it all in one,” Pattinson admitted.
Even though he hasn’t yet read the novel, Pattinson still knows a thing or two about the more talked-about “Breaking Dawn” moments. MTV News’ Josh Horowitz commented that some of the story’s big surprises have already been announced — like the fact that Bella Swan is going to be having a baby — and asked Pattinson what he felt about what “Breaking Dawn” had in store.
“I think that’s going to be very funny,” he said about the birthing scene. “The only thing I know about it is the famous scene: the kind of cesarean scene … I do not envy Bill Condon to have to think of some way to do that.”

Wyck Godfrey who is one of the Producers for Breaking Dawn (he also produced Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse) recently sat down with Fear Net to talk about Breaking Dawn in 3D, Bill Condon, Pillow Biting, and how they are getting feathers ready

Along those lines, what makes Bill Condon right for Breaking Dawn?
The themes and the story of Breaking Dawn are very mature; Bella and Edward are going through very adult things, from marriage to childbirth, motherhood, parenthood, and the evolution of their relationship into something that is a partnership, which is not the way Edward has viewed this relationship with her before. Bill’s a very mature filmmaker; he’s dealt with very difficult themes and stories in his career. He’s also gotten Academy Award nominations for actors in the last three films that he’s done.  And from a performance standpoint, Kristen’s going to be diving into stuff that she hasn’t been through. It’s one thing that she can remember first love and falling in love and being torn between two guys, probably, but the idea of dealing with some of these issues and having a filmmaker that can really help them as actors was vital to Breaking Dawn. Also, the visual nature of Dreamgirls made us feel like he could create something with a real scope and grandeur to it.

Well, I can’t argue with that. Now, you and I have talked before about Breaking Dawn and how it would never go beyond a PG-13 rating, but recently rumors of an R-rating have sprung back up. Would you care to set the record straight again?
NC-17. We’re going full on X. [Laughs] Do they have triple-X anymore? I believe fully, I’m unwavering in my belief that these will be PG-13 movies. And really, I say that not because I know what we’re shooting but because I feel that they should be. I feel like the audience of the books and the movies, many of them are under 18; my ten-year-old son goes to these movies, I can’t make an R-rated conclusion to the franchise.
Is your ten-year-old son going to understand pillow-biting and feathers strewn everywhere?
By the time it comes out, he’ll be 11 and a half, and I think that’s all that was on my mind!
Fans around the world seem to have one big request, and that is: Feathers. Lots of feathers.
We have feathers currently being grown on geese around the world so that we can steal them for our pillow-biting feather eruption!
And then, there’s the birthing scene, which some of us horror fans fantasize about going down like a scene in a Cronenbergian horror movie…
Yeah! Dead Ringers. We should go full on! My wife’s an OB-GYN so we should bring her on set to make sure that if Edward is going to do an oral Cesarean, he really needs to make the proper incision with his teeth.
Needless to say I know that a gory Breaking Dawn isn’t going to happen quite like I envision it, but how close do you think it can come to evoking the sort of visceral goriness of what’s written in the novel?
I think the one thing that we’ve done that we’ve really done in all the films is keep them very subjective and keep them from Bella’s point of view. So the conversations we’ve had with Bill, is that we’ll try to do something similar here; you’re with Bella’s perspective and her point of view of what’s taking place in the rush around her, as she’s in intense pain. Not so focused, objectively, on her body and his body and that. So I think it’ll be something like that, in terms of trying to make the audience experience and feel the confusion, almost, of what’s happening to her.
Earlier today, Kristen said Breaking Dawn will start shooting in October — is that right?
November. She starts training in October. And we’ll probably shoot [the two parts] together, as one long story.
And how might you use 3D in either part of Breaking Dawn?
We have considered it, and everything’s being discussed, but I know that part of a way to differentiate the two movies would be to have one be in 2D, and when she becomes a vampire we move into 3D. But we haven’t really gotten far enough to decide what we’re going to do. I’m of two minds of it, frankly, and I think everyone is; I don’t want to chase the format if it’s not organic and appropriate. If we think it is, we will.

So it is confirmed — Kristen Stewart starts training in October for Breaking Dawn, and filming begins in November! It is also nice to know that they are filming both parts of Breaking Dawn together! Now we just need find out where they are filming it!

The list of 2010 Teen Choice Awards nominations might've gotten out a bit earlier, with the official TCA Twitter account denying the validity of the lists as "rumors," but it is very true that The Twilight Saga: New Moon and its cast have been nominated for several of their awards!
First of all, New Moon is nominated for "Choice Movie: Fantasy" against Alice In Wonderland, Clash Of The Titans, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, and Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.
Also, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are both nominated for "Choice Movie Actor: Fantasy" - against Johnny Depp (for Alice), Jake Gyllenhaal (for Persia), and Sam Worthington (for Clash) - and Kristen Stewart for "Choice Movie Actress: Fantasy" - against Gemma Arteron (Clash), Rosario Dawson (Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief), Mia Wasikowska (Alice), and Emma Watson (Harry Potter).
Robert Pattinson and Remember Me received nods in the "Choice Movie: Drama" and "Choice Movie Actor: Drama" categories, and Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning and The Runaways were also nominated for "Choice Movie Actress: Drama" and "Choice Movie: Drama."
Taylor Lautner's Valentine's Day is nominated for "Choice Movie: Romantic Comedy," and Kellan Lutz's A Nightmare On Elm Street got a "Choice Movie: Horror" nomination. New Moon soundtrack artists Muse and Paramore received "Choice Music: Rock Group" nominations, and, finally, Rachelle Lefevre received a nomination for "Choice Movie: Villain" for her work as Victoria in New Moon.

'Twilight' producer Wyck Godfrey says 'Breaking Dawn: Part Two' might be 3-D

Circling back onto the conversation about whether The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn should be 3-D, a new interview FearNET's Jen Yamato had with Wyck Godfrey (producer of Twilight, Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and, of course, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) brings forth some of the behind-the-scenes conversations being waged about the idea.
In the interview, Yamato asked Godfrey whether the employment of 3-D technology was still being considered by the Twilight filmmakers.
"We have considered it, and everything's being discussed, but I know that part of a way to differentiate the two movies would be to have one be in 2D, and when she becomes a vampire we move into 3D. But we haven't really gotten far enough to decide what we're going to do. I'm of two minds of it, frankly, and I think everyone is; I don't want to chase the format if it's not organic and appropriate. If we think it is, we will," he told her.
During the extensive conversations we've had on this site about the concept of a 3-D Breaking Dawn, most fans have agreed that Bella's experience as a vampire may work well in 3-D but that the earlier sequences absolutely should not be. That said, do Godfrey's statements here encourage you? If you're agreeable to this position, you may also be interested in what Godfrey told her about the filmmakers' plans for the earlier portions of Breaking Dawn - particularly the birthing scene.

It's no secret that being at the fore of the Twilight bubble has rendered Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner friends. They've traveled the world together, spent countless hours on the set with one another, and joined hands for promotion upon promotion over the past three years, basically.
The Insider got the chance to interview the three about how their friendships did or did not affect the set of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and it seems that, for the guys at least, there was a bit of added difficulty brought on by their closeness, but for Kristen Stewart, the relationship had less of an impact upon her work for the film.
Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson admitted the most difficulty in it came from some of the more tense moments between the characters Edward and Jacob.
“One of the biggest challenges, is having to hate Edward. But having to hate Rob . . . I can’t look him in the eyes and hate him . . . it’s challenging because he’s such a funny, nice guy, and we have these scenes where we’re yelling and screaming at each other and he’s grabbing my shoulder and I’m shoving it off . . . it’s difficult, and as soon as they call cut, we just bust out laughing,” Taylor Lautner said.
“When we’re doing fight scenes, I’m kind of trying to act all tough and everything, and there’s this scene where I’m trying to grab his shoulder, and his shoulder’s too big to get a grip on. He just kept patting my hand off . . and we’re supposed to both be superheroes, but then I kind of get him back because he’s got to do a bunch of scenes when he was wearing a sort of wolf suit, and you could go up and sort of pinch his spandex,” Robert Pattinson added.
“It is definitely a good question, like is it weird working with your friends . . . is it too close to home, does it ever just not make sense to you because you know each other too well? . . . Because we met each other in that space I think it’s easy because that’s like where we . . . I don’t know, it informs our relationship . . . Because we all like really love this movie, it’s like I don’t know . . it’s what we do, it doesn’t get weird at all . . . It’s like fun to go back to it,” Kristen Stewart concluded.

Next week, amidst all of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiere excitement, Robert Pattinson's Remember Me DVD will be released (June 22nd, 2010), and details about the DVD commentary and special features have been revealed by Amazon.com.
Included on the commentary is the one and only Robert Pattinson!
There'll also be a "Making Of" special featurette and a director (Allen Coulter) commentary feature, but Pattinson's feature is said to be quite entertaining as he and his castmates recount filming for this project.
As you know, Remember Me was filmed last summer in New York City, and in the film, Pattinson portrays "Tyler Hawkins," a young man searching for identity and solidarity in the face of a broken family and wayward lifestyle.

Both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart got the opportunity to discuss The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn with Access Hollywood during this weekend's press junket (with Kristen Stewart saying an exalted "finally" to that end during the press conference), and one of the things that AH brought up was the level of steamy romance that fans can expect to see from them as "Edward and Bella" in Breaking Dawn.
"I’m looking forward to the pillow-biting scene,” Robert Pattinson said. “I thought that was so funny … Of all the things the random things he could do, he bites the pillow.”
“I can’t wait to get all my body make-up on, to get especially pasty-looking.”
“Well, they’re like man and wife now,” added Kristen Stewart. “It’s gonna be cool to see Bella actually turn into a woman. Yeah, they have a kid and stuff too, so I guess to get there . . . that happens.”
Looks like some of the finer details of the book story in Breaking Dawn won't be overlooked for the film, as promised by Stewart at the conference (citing the potential for more thorough detail inclusion due to the splitting of the film into two).

One thing that a lot of fans are either looking forward to or completely dreading is the amount of kissing that is expected from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse characters Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner).
According to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, shooting kissing scenes was a, well, pain in the neck as they had to get into unnatural positions to make the act visible on camera.
Taylor Lautner, however, seems to think that at least one of the kisses he was a part of for the movie is epically romantic.
“There’s actually twice," he says of the times Jacob kisses Bella. "The first time was not so [good]. He kisses her against her own will, and she punches him in the face and breaks her hand. So that one wasn’t terrific, but the second one was like the climax of the movie, it was on top of this mountain with this beautiful background, it was the ultimate kiss moment.”

David Slade tweets about 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' completion, junket, and an award win

The last few days must have been absolutely exhausting for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade. Friday, he promised (via Twitter) that Eclipse would be completed that evening, and sure enough, the first IMAX screening took place in Los Angeles .
After that, Slade joined fellow filmmakers Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter) and Wyck Godfrey (producer) at this weekend's press junket, and he tweeted that he was experiencing "[p]ost junket fallout [because he had] [i]nterviews until late last night."
He wasn't too tired, though, to pay homage to the woman in his life - his fiance. "Last night completed our final duties on delivering Eclipse My wonderful fiance took this picture of my expression . . . She has stuck with me through 7 years and three films, and She is a also a wonderful photographer."
Slade also shared a nice photo of another lady, Dakota Fanning ("Jane" in Eclipse) from the junket.
If he never shares another Twilight-related tweet, fans can still be grateful for all of the insight he has given us through his account. June 30th is but a few days from now at this point, and one might imagine that the payoff for the past near year's work will come when, as he called it in his post to the Official Twilight Facebook page, his "love letter" to the fans is finally received.
Aside from that, Slade also had another reason to celebrate this weekend, he revealed: the video he directed ("A short to raise awareness about human trafficking Music by the Killers") "won gold and bronze advertising awards at the New York Festivals."

Billy Burke to host 'Removed' album release concert in Hollywood next week

Next week, to celebrate the release of his debut album (which contains twelve songs, including "Removed" - which was revealed earlier this year in downloadable format as well as video) in both digital and physical copy forms, Billy Burke will be performing with his band at a special release concert in Hollywood's House of Blues (on June 22nd), and he promises that some subscribers of BillyBurke.net will be receiving passes.
In his blog about the release and event, Burke admitted that those who listen to the album will be getting to see a bit of the man behind the characters he portrays in films.

Most of the songs I’m about to release were written on cocktail napkins. I suppose if anyone had been spying on me while I sat alone in a booth or on a barstool scratching them down, they may have gotten a glimpse of the real me. Although I never consciously write songs in order to be understood, those whose ears this music falls upon will be in a way, hearing “me” when no one else is around.

First 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' soundtrack rumor revealed

After announcements that not only is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn a confirmed project with returning castmembers lined up, but it is also officially going to be split into two films, the race for soundtrack inclusion was inevitable . . . and so were rumors about such inclusion.
The first soundtrack story comes from the Liverpool Echo, a British newssite, which reports: "A MERSEYSIDE band will record a song for hit vampire saga Twilight. Electro-pop group Holice were asked by the films' music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas to write and record a track especially for Breaking Dawn, the fourth in the series."
Now, there's no telling exactly when Breaking Dawn or its probable soundtrack coordinator (Alexandra Patsavas with Chop Shop Records) will begin the search for artist contributors, but pure common logic suggests such a report is incredibly premature.
First of all, Breaking Dawn doesn't begin filming until this fall/winter. Secondly, director Bill Condon isn't working on Breaking Dawn just yet, according to a recent interview he did with NBC's Popcorn Biz. Finally, Breaking Dawn isn't going to be released until November, 2011 . . . and the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hasn't even been out for a week.

Where should 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' films split take place?

Now that the concept of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn being split into two films is more than mere speculation, one discussion left lingering around is: where will the film split be most appropriate for these two projects?
Wyck Godfrey, who will produce the projects (as he has with Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse before), gave a little bit of insight as to where the filmmakers are at in this very conversation when he presented the idea of making the first film 2-D and the second 3-D - with an emphasis on Bella's experience as a vampire for the latter. In other words, the wedding, Isle Esme, and Bella being with child would be the crux of part one, while part two would focus on all of the new characters, experiences, and show-downs brought forth in Part III of the book.
Most fans seem to agree that the childbirth/transformation area is a suitable stopping point range, but there is still some disagreement as to the exact moment it should happen.
Some suggestions for the moment have included:

• Bella opening her new, red eyes after her three day incapacitation with a fade to black to start up her vampire experience in part two at the same point;
• A pan to Jacob's face as he first lays eyes upon Renesmee (though not showing Renesmee so as to save her image for a part two surprise - or, in more practical terms, to avoid any problems with the actress aging if there is any time lapse between filming the two);
• Having Bella's vision and heartbeat fade out as it did just after Renesmee is rescued from the womb in part one and then having Edward rescue her for the beginning of part two;
• Subtracting the entire birth sequence altogether and having Bella begin to go into labor in part one with a "to be continued" and a montage of subtle, non-graphic, and perhaps blurred or quickened clips of the delivery as the beginning of part two; and
• Having Jacob overhear the room's goings-on rather than us actually seeing them, and having his expressions and words close out the first film.

What’s cool is that things change and, as certain as she is sometimes, and as absolutely gung-ho, young, courageous and brave as she is, she’s also willing to take a step back and go, “Okay, I’m going to reconsider my options and reconsider how I’m treating everybody.” She acknowledges that she’s being a little bit selfish. She makes the choice. I feel like the choice has been made. As soon she sees Edward in the first film, it’s done, but it’s hard for her to get to point where everyone is going to accept that, and this is the film that it happens in.

But, yeah, Jacob definitely matures quite a bit because he’s dealing with his new self now. He’s come to know his new self and the situations he’s been put in, romance wise. He deals with a lot. He becomes frustrated in this one, a little bit, because he gets so close and then gets told no, over and over again. It’s quite a bummer, but he’s quite persistent.

Q: This role is considered a romantic hero, but Edward is also very possessive. How do you think Edward has changed, throughout the films?
Robert: In the first two movies, he feels desolation from reality, so when he finds one thing to hold onto, that’s where the possessiveness comes from. I think, as the series goes on, he accepts more of the contemporary world. All the things that were deemed to be flawed before start fading away, and that’s how I’m trying to play him. He’s coming out of his shell a little bit in Eclipse, so hopefully, by the end of Breaking Dawn, he’ll be a normal 17-year-old guy, who’s just a little bit pale.

Along those lines, what makes Bill Condon right for Breaking Dawn?
The themes and the story of Breaking Dawn are very mature; Bella and Edward are going through very adult things, from marriage to childbirth, motherhood, parenthood, and the evolution of their relationship into something that is a partnership, which is not the way Edward has viewed this relationship with her before. Bill’s a very mature filmmaker; he’s dealt with very difficult themes and stories in his career. He’s also gotten Academy Award nominations for actors in the last three films that he’s done. And from a performance standpoint, Kristen’s going to be diving into stuff that she hasn’t been through. It’s one thing that she can remember first love and falling in love and being torn between two guys, probably, but the idea of dealing with some of these issues and having a filmmaker that can really help them as actors was vital to Breaking Dawn. Also, the visual nature of Dreamgirls made us feel like he could create something with a real scope and grandeur to it.

6. Rob got a kick out of watching Taylor wolf it up in gray spandex.
For a tender scene in which Bella cozies up to Jacob in wolf form, Taylor Lautner took one for the team and wore a gray spandex body suit to give Stewart a real person to act against. And while she and director David Slade appreciated Lautner’s gesture, Pattinson enjoyed teasing Lautner from the sidelines.
“There are a couple scenes, sort of confrontational scenes, [where] I sort of push him around a little bit,” Pattinson began, “and I was supposed to grab his shoulder. It wasn’t even in the script, I thought I’d really scare him and grab him and it would freak him out and turn the whole scene upside down! Then I grabbed his shoulder and it was too big to actually get a grip on. I just dropped my hand, so that was kind of embarrassing. I got him badly though; he kept having to dress up in a little grey spandex wolf suit all the time and try and be intimidating in that with Kristen patting him on the head and stuff. That was quite fun!”
