Press release: Jackson and 100 Monkeys going on summer tour

100 Monkeys About to Embark on Summer Tour
July 16, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA)- Los Angeles band 100 Monkeys have been nothing short of active these past few months after the first part of their fan-picked 100 City Tour came to an end. Two new singles, Kol Pix and Future Radio, were debuted worldwide earlier this month and made their first radio appearance on the Jimmy Star Show this past week. 100 Monkeys also announced the release of the first disc of a two-disc live CD titled “Live and Kickin’ Part 1.”  The songs on the CD were recorded during the first-half of the 100 City Tour and will be released just before they leave on tour. In less than four days they’ll embark on a Summer Tour consisting of twelve cities which run up and down the west coast. These guys have been nothing short of busy.
100 Monkeys are highly driven by their fan base and all of the people who support them. Their last tour, the 100 City Tour was picked by the fans themselves who voted for the band to come to their city. Those cities who had the most votes or pleas to come to their city, were setup to be visited. Two cities picked by the fans that now stand out more than ever are Sacramento, CA and San Francisco, CA, which will be played on the upcoming Summer Tour. Sacramento is a city they have yet to visit on any tour, and was set to be played in January but ended up having to be cancelled. San Francisco is a city they haven’t played since early 2009 and during their last tour also sadly had to cancel.
Their Summer Tour begins on July 20th, 2010, and runs through to August 6th, 2010, and will include the following cities (in order):  Hermosa Beach, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC, Canada; Fresno, CA; Reno, NV; Sacramento, CA; and wraps up in Los Angeles, CA.
100 Monkey members, Ben Graupner, Lawrence Abrams, Jerad Anderson, Ben Johnson and Jackson Rathbone (who appears in such movies as The Last Airbender, and the Twilight Saga) are looking forward to visiting all twelve cities, but Sacramento, CA and San Francisco, CA, are ones in which they can’t wait to play as they were skipped the last time around and it will be a chance to hopefully see some new faces.
In an effort to “pack the house” at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA and The Venue in Sacramento, CA, the Official 100 Monkeys Street Team is offering up goodies for those fans and supporters who wish to help make these shows truly sensational. These two cities were picked at random for the “goodie giveaway” which worked out perfectly as they were previously canceled on the 100 City Tour. Fans are being asked to print the flyers and take pictures of where they are posted throughout these cities. Fans who submit five pictures/venues to streetteam@100monkeysmusic.com will score themselves a signed flyer by all of the guys (and maybe more since we’re feeling generous)!  If you need flyers for either of these events, please email the Street Team. For any fans wanting to go above and beyond and live in the San Francisco, CA area, feel free to text your local radio stations Live 105 (Text# 36105) and Alice @ 97.3 (Text# 25423) requesting 100 Monkeys. For those fans living around the Sacramento, CA area, anyone who logs on to http://www.krxq.net/ can also requests 100 Monkeys on the form on their website.
Recently 100 Monkeys was featured in Rolling Stone as one of “Bamboozle 2010’s Five Breakout Bands to Watch, their honest and catchy lyrics combined with the fusion of Rock, Jazz, Blues, Funk, and even borderline Country, creates a truly eclectic sound; one which the band has coined “onomatopoetic, but for the sake of simplicity, we’ll call it funky rock-n-roll,” and a show not to be missed.
Just as unique as the band’s sound, are their live performances, which feature their now patented “Monkey Switcheroo,” in which band members exchange instruments, often during a song.  Additionally, fans attending live shows look forward to the nightly “Improv Song,” where the band takes title suggestions from the audience and turns it into a lyrical masterpiece.
Check out 100 Monkeys at their Official website.

Eclipse cast members to appear at Comic-Con

Fans who have been disappointed that there will not be an Eclipse panel at Comic-Con this summer can have some consolation with the announcement that three cast members will do an autograph signing at the con.  Bronson Pelletier (Jared), Kiowa Gordon (Embry) and Kirsten Prout (Lucy) will attend an autograph signing on July 25.  Here are details via Twilight Examiner.
Originally, it was reported that there would be no special The Twilight Saga: Eclipse panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and while it is still true that there’ll be no formal panel, there will be a special three-person autograph signing session with stars from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Bronson Pelletier (“Jared’), Kiowa Gordon (“Embry Call”), and Kirsten Prout (“Lucy”) will all be present for a The Twilight Saga: Eclipse autograph session at Comic-Con on Sunday, July 25th from 1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. PST.
According to the press release, “Twilight Fans may bring any Twilight merchandise to be signed by these 3 talented actors.”
Details on the autograph session are available here.
Other Twilight series castmates reportedly appearing at Comic-Con for other films include Anna Kendrick (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Michael Sheen (Tron: Legacy), Cam Gigandet (Priest), and Billy Burke (Drive Angry 3D).

Charlie Bewley talks 'Twilight' fans, future projects

Charlie Bewley - AP Photo
Charlie Bewley aka Demetri talked to Pique, he talked about Twilight fans on Twitter, saying "They're like really protective of me! If anyone kind of has a go at me on Twitter, they're in there and they just rip to pieces whoever it was - they're great! Really, I've got a wonderful set of fans out there."
Bewley also talked about his first experience with the fandom - that which came just after he was cast.
"So I just put it out on Facebook. I was like, 'By chance, does anybody know about this character called Demetri from the Twilight series?' And out came all these closet Twilight fans in my Facebook list. Suddenly, I had this network of minions working for me around the clock!" he explained.
Aside from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, Bewley also has a couple of other projects lined up, it seems, including Ecstasy (self-explanatory), Soldiers Of Fortune (with Christian Slater, Sean Bean, Ving Rhames and Dominic Moynahan), and Like Crazy ("another independent project that Bewley compares to The Notebook").

Stephenie Meyer reveals 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' and 'Bree Tanner' details to fansites

Stephenie Meyer - AP Photo
More from Stephenie Meyer's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse fansite junket with four sites - Twilight Series Theories, Twilight Source, Twifans, and Letters To Twilight - has been revealed, and this time she's talked to them about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella.
Twilight Series Theories has posted a portion including the new Bree Tanner information . . . one part of which a lot of you have expressed interest in: does "Freaky Fred" ever meet the Cullens?
"If I were to go ahead with it, he would definitely come up again. After his character sort of warmed he would fit into a rightly place. I don’t see Edward actively seeking him out. Having the knowledge he had gotten from Bree he realizes that Fred probably wouldn’t appreciate that pretty much, but I do see them crossing paths," she explained.
She went on to discuss Fred's backstory and the logisitics of his special power, and you can read all about that here at Twilight Series Theories!
Twifans asked a really interesting question about Eclipse and the "Angry Edward" sequence outside of Bella's house.
Many Twilight fans were on the fence about the scene. Some found Robert Pattinson's performance to be great, while others thought that the progression of that moment strayed too far from the cool, collected Edward Cullen they'd grown to know with the book.
Stephenie Meyer, it seems, sided with the latter during shooting.
"That’s the one I walked out on, on the dailies because in my head that scene was so much different. In the movie Edward is quite separate motivation-ally from the book Edward. At this point in the film in the story for me he’s gotten past this. Like he’s realized 'I can’t act like a teenage boy anymore. I have to give her space. I have to be the mature one here.' And in that scene in the book, he has, icy calm control. He is very gentle. He is very soft spoken. He is very mature . . . They had already filmed that day, so we couldn’t redo it but, people have responded really well to it," she explained.
Read and listen to the rest here at Twifans!
Finally, Letters to Twilight has three bits of audio where Stephenie Meyer talks about whether she's a fan of other vampire series like True Blood and how perfectly she finds Riley to have been cast in Xavier Samuel. She also reveals a quite interesting story about Xavier Samuel's first experience with the paparazzi.
Listen and read up on their reactions here at LTT.

The Hillywood Show Going to Forks

Below is the Press Release.

Cullen Sighting in Forks?!
Twilight Fandom Entertainers The Hillywood Show Make Special Appearance in Twilight’s hometown of Forks, WA
Who , What, When, Where
In Forks, the setting for Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga, fans will soon see Edward and Bella strolling down Forks Avenue hand in hand. The Hillywood Show, the production company that brought fans the Twilight and New Moon parodies with several million views on YouTube, will be making a very special personal appearance on August 6th and 7th in Forks. Their appearance is sponsored by Dazzled by Twilight, the company that provides the ultimate Twilight experience in Forks.

The Hillywood Show began as a fun hobby for two sisters, Hannah and Hilly Hindi, putting together parodies and spoofs in their living room with little more than a handheld camera and some convincing wigs. Their 5 to 8 minute videos involve character impersonations from films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, The Runaways and more, with their own spin on incorporating multiple references into one hilarious vignette. As their fan base grew, so did their talent, diversity and ability to connect with a loyal audience. Their recent parodies of Twilight and New Moon are now played on web sites all over the world and have created a fan base numbering in the millions. What is perhaps the most surprising fact is that all directing, editing, acting and design is done completely by Hannah and Hilly. They are also the hosts and emcees of Creation Entertainment’s Official Twilight Tour (Summit Entertainment’s licensed and endorsed convention company) and currently tour all over the country year-round with their cast of Edward, Bella, Jacob, Alice and Jasper. Their upcoming parody of Eclipse, releasing in the fall, has media in a frenzy to get a look at the girls’ next genius production. Learn more at www.TheHillywoodShow.com.

Twilight' star Ashley Greene presents at the ESPY Awards

Ashley Greene - AP Photo
Last night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Ashley Greene appeared on the red carpet of and presented at the ESPY Awards (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, put on by ESPN) in Los Angeles, California.
On the red carpet for the event, Greene wore an asymmetrical orange-red dress.
On-stage, Greene presented with Tracy Morgan the award for "Best Upset."
Tracy Morgan, however, thought that the "Best Upset" was the fact that he didn't receive the part of Nelson Mandela (portrayed by Morgan Freeman) in 2009's Invictus.
He presented a skit of his audition tape for the picture, and Greene played along with his wacky antics.
Greene had reminded her fans on Twitter that she'd be a presenter at the show, and it's a good thing she did because the ESPY Awards are not usually where Twilight fans would expect to see the cast on-stage.
Here's a video of Greene's presentation with Morgan:

Twilight' stars Kellan Lutz and Gil Birmingham stepping out for good causes

Gil Birmingham - AP Photo
Both Kellan Lutz and Gil Birmingham ("Emmett Cullen" and "Billy Black" in the Twilight series respectively) are heading out for good causes over the next few days.
Kellan Lutz will be appearing at Monday's 2010 Do Something Awards, a VH1 awards show which showcases the good deeds of celebrities.
Surprisingly, none of the Twilight cast is on the list of nominees for their charitable work (despite the tireless efforts of those like Peter Facinelli), but you can find out more about that event here.
It'll air on VH1 at 9 p.m. EST on Monday, July 19th.
Gil Birmingham will be appearing on Saturday at this weekend's Quileute Days festival in La Push, Washington.
According to PDN, "Birmingham will participate in the Saturday parade and meet with council and fans, but his schedule is not yet finalized" and "Quileute Days will run Friday through Sunday and will include traditional tribal games, softball games, a parade, vendors and more. The annual event is free, and the public is invited to attend."

How Breaking Dawn Could Effect the Louisiana Economy

As previously posted, we told you about the fourth installment of  The Twilight Saga:Breaking Dawn being filmed in Vancouver and in Louisiana. The lucky location will be Baton Rouge, Louisiana and this sparks questions about boosting the town’s economy.
“Breaking Dawn,” the fourth chapter in the “Twilight” story, will be released as two separate films in the franchise, which has grossed more than $1.4 billion worldwide to date, according to a news release from Summit Entertainment.
Getting the vampire film juggernaut to the Red Stick was the result of aggressive marketing by the Baton Rouge Film Commission, said Paul Arrigo, chairman of the BRFC and president of the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“The Baton Rouge Film Commission was very involved with soliciting and nabbing ‘Twilight’ for Baton Rouge,” Arrigo said.
Mitchell-Smith said she worked hard to communicate constantly with the film’s producers, making herself available at all times for questions about production.
“We’re putting our best foot forward in the market and showing them exactly what it is they want to see,” she said. “This is about customer service, first and foremost.”
In addition to Louisiana’s tax incentives to production studios, Mitchell-Smith said Baton Rouge offers a wide array of benefits that lure projects to the city.
“The film industry obviously spends so much money locally that another major reason you have local offices like our Baton Rouge Film Commission is so we can be aggressive promoters and marketers of our area,” she said.
One of the city’s programs to benefit film studios is a “grassroots vendor discount program,” Mitchell-Smith said.
The program includes more than 70 local businesses, ranging from office supply stores to restaurants, spas and car rental companies, which typically offer 15- to 20-percent discounts to film productions.
In addition to helping keep production costs manageable for film studios, the program also benefits local businesses that get more traffic and can create brand awareness in the film industry, Mitchell-Smith said.
The production’s prolonged presence in Baton Rouge will be advantageous for local crew members who will have work for as long as the project is in the city.
“Sometimes you’re on a show for two to three months, then you’re looking for another production,” Mitchell-Smith said. “Folks on this [project] will have consistent employment and a huge resume builder, never even having to go to California.”
Mitchell-Smith said “Breaking Dawn” will be an “enormous boost” to Baton Rouge’s economy through set building and production work, as well as the stimulus of cast and crew who stay in hotels and eat in local restaurants.

Breaking Dawn: What We Know So Far

The most highly anticipated movie from The Twilight Saga is of course Breaking Dawn. With all of the rumors and speculations in the air, one can only guess as to what the final decisions will be. Well Pop Sugar has a break down of what we know so far.
As racy as that tropical island honeymoon sex scene in “Breaking Dawn” has the potential to be, the movies will stay PG-13, a Summit Entertainment executive told MTV News last week. Intrepid MTV News reporter Eric Ditzian spoke with distribution chief Richie Fay for all the advance “Breaking Dawn” details he could squeeze out of the guy, so we decided to make it easy on all of you, and give you a roundup of what we know so far:
1. IT WON’T BE RATED R
“I don’t see it ever becoming an R-rated movie,” Fay said. “The middle road we have to travel is a mutual respect as to staying true to the book but not turning off your audience.
“It’s always with the eye of making Stephenie Meyer happy and making the audience happy,” he added. “I can’t say for a fact, but I just don’t see us getting into an R-rated area with any of the ‘Twilight’ titles.”
2. PART 2 DOES NOT HAVE A RELEASE DATE
“We’ve targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen,” Fay said. “We haven’t even determined that it will be the summer. It’s still the source of discussions.
“We might have a preference when we see where ‘Eclipse’ ends up,” he said of whether it’ll be released in summer or winter of 2012. “It certainly might color our thinking, but we’re comfortable with either place. Right now, it’s a bit early in that stage of planning.”
3. FILMING IN 3-D IS STILL A STRONG POSSIBILITY
“That decision has yet to be made,” Fay said. “It’s still the source of a discussion.”
While rising 3-D ticket prices are a consideration, it’s mostly a creative issue. “There’s certainly a financial part of the discussion,” he said. “And yes, there’s a certain amount of technology that has to be considered and accounted for. But it really comes down to the creative folks.”
“In any of these roundtabls conversations, [Summit CEO] Rob Friedman has always been concerned about the ‘Twilight’ patron,” Fay added. “His concern is always the people that come in to see this movie. He doesn’t want to turn them off or offend. That’s why it’s a creative decision. A big factor is the perception of our audience. What are their feelings going to be? If it lends itself to being a better movie because of 3-D, then that’s the technology we’ll use.”

Robert Pattinson Says Fans Protect Him From Paparazzi

Paparazzi have always been a long-time nuisance for celebrities all over the world. But then what would we do without them? But when things go from bothersome to troublesome, that’s when the paparazzi game can be a bit of an annoyance, and the fans of Robert Pattinson were not having it on the set of  Water For Elephants.
ROBERT PATTINSON’s fans came to his rescue on the set of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS – they forced the paparazzi to stop snapping the star as he shot dangerous scenes with REESE WITHERSPOON.
Snappers frequently descended on the California set to try and catch Pattinson and Witherspoon at work, and at one stage they were distracting the pair during a scene – but the Twilight star’s waiting fans saved the day.
He tells Telepoche magazine, “(The funniest fan experience) happened while I was filming Water for Elephants in which my partner is Reese Witherspoon. We had a scene with elephants but there were so many paparazzi around that it was scaring the animals and it was impossible to film.
“Out of the blue, fans, that were waiting for autographs, had enough and circled around the paparazzi. Teens made big guys run away. It was unreal! I was pleased.”

Dakota Fanning in Canadian Flare Magazine

The lovely Dakota Fanning graces the  cover of  Canadian Flare Magazine.  Fanning aka Jane of The Twilight Sagais working this cover. She is the girl next door meets bada$$. Here’s what Dakota had to say about her life:

  • On her down-to-earth daily life: “I have such a normal life when I’m not working . . . It’s just nice to be around people you care about and who know you best.”

  • On acting alongside Kristen in Eclipse: “Kristen is one of my best friends, so it was really funny playing her enemy in Eclipse . . . But that’s what acting is and when they yell ‘cut,’ you can go back to your normal self.”

  • On her favorite wardrobe staple: “In Push, I wear these Doc Martens. They’re worn-in and they’re so soft, and they’re one of the only ones that were made with a zipper. That has affected my style in a completely new way. Now I wear them every day.”

  • On the career legacy she hopes she’ll leave: “I hope people will have been moved by something that I’ve done or [that I've] helped somebody through a hard time . . . and that I’ve stayed true to who I am and have been a nice person.”

    Robert Interview

The Mirror has an interview with Robert Pattinson.
    Check it all out here.
    Here is an excerpt:

Have your mates ever called you Edward by mistake?
People have called me Edward – not family, that would be weird! My mates might have done it to rib me. They don’t really know about Twilight, but some of them found out about this R-Pattz thing, so now one of them always calls me R-Pattz, which he thinks is hilarious.

Edward can read thoughts. If we could hear your thoughts, what would they sound like?
Complete silence, dust blowing in the wind. Or maybe just like white noise…

What aspects of Edward do you most identify with?

It’s changed a bit in this film. In the first two, I guess there was his feeling that you can’t relate to anyone, or no one can relate to you. I was like, ’I never want to talk to anyone’. I used to feel like that when I was younger. I’ve grown up now.

Are you a traditionalist, like Edward?
It is quite pronounced in the movie, and I respect that, but when I work on other films, I want to play really amoral characters. I don’t feel like I have to stand by his values, but I respect them. I guess courtship is a good thing, but only if it’s pleasurable. Some people meet each other in a bar and sleep with each other that night, then stay with each other for the rest of their lives. Or they could stay with each other and never get married. It just doesn’t make any difference.

    Check it all out here.
    Here is an excerpt:

PS: How involved is Stephenie Meyer in the writing process and what is your relationship with her like?
    MR
: Stephenie is very involved. My relationship with her has only gotten better with every movie. When I met her and began to engage, I had no reason to be protective. I found her to be extremely collaborative and a tremendous resource. So I began to engage her more and that happened more on New Moon and even more in Eclipse . . . She weighs in on every draft of the outline, every draft of the script. She’s on set. She’s very involved.
