Breaking Dawn Rumors: Fight Scene To Be Filmed Just Outside Of Baton Rouge?

DailyBlam.com is reporting that they received insider information, stating that the final fight scene in Breaking Dawn Part 2, will be filmed just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana -
Recently, Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the highly lucrative film series The Twilight Saga, announced that filming for the franchise’s final chapter, Breaking Dawn, will partially take place in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A source within the Louisiana Film Commission has disclosed to me that members of the Breaking Dawn production crew have already scouted out the location they are planning to use for the film; which the studio is releasing in two parts.
The scene will be the final confrontation between the Cullen clan, who are joined by the Quileute wolf pack and their friends, and the Volturi. The scene, most of which is taken directly from the novel, has been extended to include several physical fights. It is expected that many Twilight fans will be flocking to Louisiana when the studio begins filming in the area; which is why the exact area the production team has decided on is being kept tightly under wrap.

Rumor: Breaking Dawn producers visit Rio for potential filming locations

Rumors are flying around that (though not confirmed or denied) that producers for Breaking Dawn have been in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, scoping out the area for potential filming.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn “producers” are in Rio, according to RioFilme’s director/president Sérgio Sá Leitão. Answering a query from a fellow twitterer about whether the Breaking Dawn producers had given up on Rio, Leitão tweeted that “they’re in Rio. I can’t give out any details. The decision will be made soon.” In a follow-up tweet, he added: “Breaking Dawn in Rio = Investments of US$1.5m in the city + creation of many jobs + great publicity for Rio + 1 gift to the fans.”
The three official Breaking Dawn producers are Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer. Whether any of those are in Rio, or if Leitão was referring to Summit Entertainment executives is unclear.

New Pics of Alex Meraz in YRB Magazine

Alex appears in the new YRB Magazine  along with an article. His pictures are always so interesting. The article talks a lot about Alex’s art. He is becoming more and more known for his art . If you haven’t seen Alex’s art head over to his website to check it out!
Alex Meraz might be best known as the chiseled werewolf Paul in the Twilight film series, but this multifaceted entertainer’s talents extend way beyond the silver screen.
If you look up the word “artist” in the dictionary, you’ll find “a person who practices one of the fine arts.” While each of us might take away something different from the words “fine arts,” one thing that remains clear is that an artist is someone with a creative soul, whether his or her fine art takes the form of music, painting, acting or any other medium of creation.
One look at Alex Meraz and you’ll immediately recognize him as Paul, the hot-tempered werewolf in the global phenomenon The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse. But there’s more to Meraz than his amazingly beefed up body, handsome good looks and piercingly beautiful eyes that have put Twilight fans in a frenzy. As it turns out, this newbie actor is an “artist” in a few different ways.
Most recently, he’s taken up acting and is fiercely pursuing his goal to establish himself as a credible actor in Hollywood. But he’s also a contemporary dancer, breakdancer, martial artist and, first and foremost, a visual artist. Art has and always will be an enduring passion for the 25-year-old from Mesa, Arizona. While his interest in art has its roots in his adolescence, it was his older brother who encouraged Meraz to continue working on his art once he saw how talented his younger brother was.
“My first drawing was of Snoopy that I showed to my older brother,” he recollects. “[He] immediately recognized that something was there and kept pushing me to draw. From there, I’d always draw him things to get his approval to see if he liked it or not. It was sort of that older brother approval that nudged me on more.”

Stephenie Meyer talks about Edward’s flaws

Many of you would disagree with Stephenie Meyer’s assessment that the dreamy Edward Cullen has any faults, but Steph says she believes he has flaws.  Here is what she said at the fan junket in June. Hear the audio of this discussion at Twifans:
TST: With your characters — do they run the show or do you run the show?
SM: This is something I’ve learned. People think you’re crazy when you tell the truth on this question. But, writers don’t think you’re crazy, because they understand. The characters run the show. Because once you create a character, it’s who they are. Sure, there are certain things they can’t do. Certain things they can’t say; it’s not in character. I had that problem with Edward a lot. In the beginning he was a really, a very strong character. New Moon came about because of his character. I did not want to write him going away, that was not very much fun, but if he hadn’t done that, how could he say he tried everything? He didn’t try everything to save her, if he hadn’t gone away. So that whole book revolved around his (Edward’s) iron nature that he had, that I could not get around. I could not just make him…he was so loathed to destroy her life. There was no way that he was gonna “okay, you’re right. We’ll just hang out.” He’s also such a know-it-all. Bella’s trying to tell him “look, this is something different than we think it is” and he’s “no, I know better….I’m a 110.” He’s kind-of a brat sometimes. It’s so funny when people think I have constructed (in a negative way) my idea of the perfect man and how flawless he is. No, he’s very flawed. I’m well aware of that. And he’s lived in this world where rules don’t apply to him. He does stuff that is over the line for a human person. But he is a vampire and can fool a lot of people. So going into someone’s room at night isn’t that bad, in comparison. And the rules don’t apply to him; he does all kinds of really shallow stuff. But I still like him.

Gossip Cop: Rob NOT set to appear in Angelina Jolie film

Gossip Cop addresses rumors that Robert Pattinson is being considered for a role in Angelina Jolie’s developing BBC mini-series Unforgiven.
Reports emerged yesterday that Angelina Jolie will develop a film based on a BBC miniseries called Unforgiven. The potential project would grown from the same partnership behind Jolie’s upcoming Bosnian War movie.
Now rumors are buzzing that Robert Pattinson is also attached to Unforgiven.
“There’s speculation in the wind that Robert Pattinson has been tapped for this project,” reports Lainey Gossip. The actor met late last year with Jolie attorney Robert Offer, observes the site, “so his recent trip to see [her movie] Salt with his agent is suddenly rife with new possibility.”
While it’s always possible a high-profile actor like Pattinson could join Unforgiven — especially, as the site notes, to demonstrate his range — as of now, he is not involved.
A Pattinson insider tells Gossip Cop that rumors connecting him to the film are inaccurate.

Stephenie Meyer weighs in on the Volturi casting choices

In June, when several fan sites got the opportunity to talk with Stephenie Meyer, they chatted with the Twilight author about the casting choices for the ancient Volturi, first seen in New Moon. Here is what she had to say about Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower and Christopher Heyerdahl. From Twifans:
ARO…………….
SM: We kicked around a lot of names with that. And Michael Sheen was Chris’ choice (Chris Weitz, director). “Frost/Nixon,” he’s a great actor, but I couldn’t see him as Aro.
Alison: Oh, Lucian! (the character he played in the “Underworld” movies)
SM: Well, I hadn’t seen the “Underworld” thing, and I was like, “I don’t know,” I kinda had a different mental image. I had this actor, that actor that I wanted. And he talked me into it. First day I saw him on set, I went up to Chris and I said “thank you so much. You were right, I was wrong. I will listen to you forever, because you were SOO right on that one.”
Nikki (LTT): When he delivered that line, it’s just like, “oooooh!!”
SM: It was a delight to watch him go in there. Every little take he did something different. He did slightly different things. Always, of course, lines were perfect. Never a mistake, but he would give something different for the director to pull from. And he’s so great, he’s a really interesting guy. So much fun to talk to.
Bekah (LTT): My husband, who thinks I’m crazy, when Michael Sheen was in…
SM: That’s one of the reasons I love that movie…I love watching him, where every time he comes on, I’m like, “Say something!”
CAIUS…………………..
SM: I hate that Jamie Campbell Bower didn’t get as many lines. He is chilling. He actually tried out for Demetri. And he was too scary for Demetri. We were watching it. There was another guy that — Demetri is supposed to be — Charlie (Bewley) was sort-of the in-between. Demetri was supposed to be smoother and calm people down. But then of course, maybe people don’t want to ever have somebody as the peace maker. They want all the tension. So Charlie was scary, but not as scary (laughs) as Jamie. Jamie was CHILL-LING. And that his face took the makeup like nobody else. He has no pores! His skin was perfect! He got in the makeup, and every line he delivered had so much weight. It was like “more, more please.” Caius needs a story. The whole thing with him and Michael Sheen was great. Well, Marcus too.
MARCUS………………….
SM: Chris (Christopher Heyerdahl) is just……….creepy. Creepy. He just did this thing where it sounded like he had 500 years of dust on him. That part of the movie…I was sitting there talking to him, and I didn’t know it was him. He’s bald. I’m used to him with the hair. So I’m sitting there talking to this tall, bald guy, thinking that he was somebody else. And when I realized it was the actor, I’m thinking really quickly back through everything — did he know that I didn’t know who he is? And then I told him…”I didn’t recognize you without the wig and the red eyes and all that…”

Peter Facinelli Named 'Worst Vampire'

Peter Travers of Rolling Stone has named his top ten best and top five worst vampires on film and tv. Taking the top spot on the worst vampires list is Peter Facinelli playing patriarch of the Cullen family, Carlisle Cullen. Travers writes:

"Facinelli is a solid actor, but playing Carlisle Cullen, the white-haired head of the fang-challenged Cullen vampire family, he looks about as terrifying as Project Runway winner Austin Scarlett, whom Carisle closely resembles."

Peter responded to this honor via Twitter on Wednesday, Aug. 25:

"YES! I finally came in Number 1 in something! ....Thank you Mr. Travers. As Carlisle is a compassionate humanitarian, and anti-vampire in nature, being the worst Vampire was quite the compliment. Although, you had me at "solid actor". :) I did find the comparison to Austin Scarlett utterly ridiculous though ... He has way better cheek bones."

Eclipse Box Office Update!

Larry411 has the latest box office numbers for Eclipse, as of Thursday August 26 -UPDATE THURSDAY, AUGUST 26:
Box office numbers are in for Wednesday, August 25. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse took in another $71,270 from 557 locations for a per theater average of $128, representing a decrease of 5.5% from Tuesday. This adds up to a cumulative domestic total of $297,439,330 after 57 days in release. Adding in overseas returns of $380.6M gives Eclipse a current worldwide total of $678,039,330.
Theater counts for the week of Friday, August 27 – Thursday, September 2 reflect a decrease of 81 for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse to 476 locations, dropping it from #18 to #20.
For those comparing the films in The Twilight Saga, at this point in its release history (after 57 days) New Moon had taken in $291,550,109. Eclipse is now at $297,439,330. Both films hit the $250M mark on the 16th day. The total domestic gross for New Moon was $296,623,634 (after 132 days). Eclipse has now broken that total by $816,696 (after 57 days). The film is now within striking distance of the elusive $300M mark. It needs about $2.56M to get to that number. It took New Moon 22 more days to earn an additional $2.56M after its 57th day, and Eclipse is clearly doing better. On the other hand, New Moon was in 724 theaters after 57 days while Eclipse is dropping to 476 locations tomorrow. Still, even after New Moon’s theater count had dropped to 444 (after 63 days) it still went on to take in another $3.8M. Therefore, it should take no more than one more month for Eclipse to earn another $2.6M and pass $300M.

Jackson to be on ABC’s TV Show – No Ordinary Family

The EW posted an article with the following:
Coming up necks for Twilight bloodsucker Jackson Rathbone: A potentially recurring role on ABC’s No Ordinary Family.
The 25-year-old actor—whose two summer films, Eclipse and The Last Airbender, collectively grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide—will play Trent Stafford, a high school classmate of Kay Panabaker telepathic Daphne. Trent was recently the victim of a home invasion robbery, and I’m guessing Daphne will join forces with her superhero parents to help catch the perp.
