Stephenie Meyer among Forbes’ Highest Paid Authors
Vampire romance author Stephenie Meyer ranks second this year. Her Twilight series has become such a juggernaut that despite not releasing a new title in 2009, she earned $40 million over the year. About $7 million of that came from movies adapted from the Twilight series. In June the third Twilight installment pulled in $175 million in its first six days, the most successful first week of any movie of 2010.See more of the Highest Paid Authors here.

Time has listed the “Top 10 Offbeat Fan Followings” and Twihards come in at number 4. If you are wondering what they mean by “offbeat” they also describe the list as “phenomenons that have particularly intense fan bases.” Yeah, I guess that’s about right!
If you’re going to be a Twihard, you’ve got to pick a side. Will you join the vamps on Team Edward or run with the pack on Team Jacob? Stephenie Meyer’s vampire-human romance novels (and the subsequent films) spawned a vampire mania that has manifested itself in the form of screaming, crying, hyperventilating, white-painted, fake-fang-wearing fans. Some favor the caring vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), while others root for Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), the underdog werewolf who has big muscles and rides motorbikes but somehow still doesn’t get the girl. Whole families form tent cities for days outside premieres, hoping to catch a glimpse of the often shirtless Lautner or the brooding Brit Pattinson. Young girls dream of finding a “real” love like Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s and gossip endlessly about the rumored ups and downs of the couple’s real-life romance. While seeing gaggles of frenetic teen fans is nothing new, seeing grown women fight over life-sized Edward cutouts and obsess over 18-year-old Lautner’s abdominal muscles comes as a bit of a surprise. He says that being the only male at home can be testing, but he consoles himself by appreciating how gorgeous his family is.
“Being the only man in the house isn’t always easy. But then I think: ‘Hey I am destined for being surrounded by beautiful girls’,” he told Bravo.
“I am glad about every day I spent with my girls,” added the loving father, who revealed he has nicknamed his family “Facinelli-Five.”
Peter and Jennie met on the set of An Unfinished Affair, a 1996 made-for-TV movie, and married five years later.
“He is our angel,” gushed Jennie. She praised her husband for looking after the family and admits she’s lucky to have found such a great man.
“He isn’t one of those guys to watch sport shows or do pub tours with his buddies. There aren’t many men like Peter,” she added.

"Her Twilight series has become such a juggernaut that despite not releasing a new title in 2009, she earned $40 million over the year. About $7 million of that came from movies adapted from the Twilight series," Forbes reports. In 2009, Twilight was released to DVD and The Twilight Saga: New Moon hit theaters.
Just below Stephenie Meyer on this list is Stephen King.
This isn't the first time Forbes has taken notice of Meyer's success. In 2009, she was #26 on the Forbes' Celebrity 100, and this year she was ranked 59th.
Meyer's successes with the Twilight series this year are also worth mentioning. She released the best-selling The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella this year, and it sky-rocketed to landmark sales right away. Because of the success of the book, $1 million (or more) was donated to the American Red Cross.
She's one of Amazon.com's best-selling authors of the decade, and it's been suggested that 2000-2009 was Stephenie Meyer's very own decade for success.
Looks like 2010-2019 won't be too shabby for this author, either.

Nikki Reed loves ‘True Blood’
Nikki Reed talks with MTV about working working with True Blood star Deborah Ann Woll on her film Catch .44, and her admiration for the vampire TV show.
When Nikki stopped by to chat about her upcoming Indie “Last Day of Summer,” we asked her if she and Woll connected over their blood bonds. (Pun totally intended)Read more here.
“We’re both equally fascinated by I think the passion behind the admiration for vampires,” Nikki explained. “I really love ‘True Blood’ and I envy her. I would do anything to have a guest spot on the show, hint hint,” she said with a wink.
“That’s what we talked about most,” Nikki added. “She was talking about ‘Twilight,’ and I was commenting on her show, and what we like about each other’s work, and I think that she wins.”
We then suggested that we should get Nikki on the “True Blood” set to do some reconnaissance, but she revealed that she and Deborah have already planned it out:
“I’m going to visit her on the set one day, coincidentally, and be like ‘Hey Alan! Alan Ball, how are ya? … You know it could be funny because I’m in ‘Twilight,’ that could be funny?’ I don’t think they’ll go for it,” Nikki said. “[But] I’m willing to push myself.”

And now it appears that the choice of director has been narrowed down to two possibilities, with Twilight: Eclipse’s David Slade and Red’s Robert Schwentke the leading contenders, according to the Vulture blog.Slade, of course, can parlay his recent experience directing hairy creatures that fight and his past work on the likes of 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy. While thanks to Red’s healthy buzz, Schwentke has become something of the Ryan Reynolds of the megaphone world, lining up possible projects one after the other.
According to Vulture’s sources, Slade has the upper hand right now, but Jackman is even now putting them through their paces, Dragon’s Den-style to see who gets the job. Okay, so he’s probably just talking to them, but we like to think of it that way.

The newborns aren’t all “pretty” as vampires should be.
In the scene where Bella takes off on the motorcycle with Jacob, Edward’s eyes are golden. When Edward shows up at Bella’s house later that evening, they are black. His thirst wouldn’t have become so apparent so quickly.
The Cullens are watching a news report about the violence in Seattle. It is night time in the report, and the reporter says “this is CNN live.”. Cut to the Cullens watching the newscast, and it is daylight out. Forks and Seattle are both in western Washington, it could not be night in one place and day in the other.
In the scene where Alice & Charlie are talking on the steps outside Charlie’s house, they are standing still, but in the next shot they are walking down the steps
Just after Victoria has been killed, Edward goes over to Bella to bandage the cut she made on her arm, tying the fabric around her wrist. However, when Bella cut herself, it was on the inside of her elbow, not her wrist.
In the last scene where Edward and Bella are sitting in the sunny field, Edward is not sparkling
- Just like in New Moon, Bella’s scar from James biting her is on the wrong side of her arm.
- When Jacob’s carrying Bella through the woods, in some shots her left sleeve is quite far over her hand, but on others it’s further back by her wrist.
- The bed scene with Bella and Edward: As he says, ‘It’s just one rule I wanna leave unbroken,’ someone or something moves into shot on the right-hand side, and it’s not Bella. In the next, shot you can see from where Edward is looking that she’s not in that position.
- During the scene where Riley’s parents are talking to Charley in the police department, his picture starts out on top of the file, then later they are handing it to him like he has never seen it before.
- When Bella’s talking to her dad on the sofa early in the movie, watch her right ear. Sometimes there’s hair covering it, sometimes it’s clear, and sometimes there’s a chunk of hair hanging in front of it.
- At various times during the movie Bella’s hair is different (she is wearing a wig due to her hair being cut for her role in “The Runways”). You can notice it from the high angle when she walks to her truck the first time she goes to see Jacob, then various times during the movie her hair seems to be darker sometimes and her hairline moves as well.
- Vampires bodies are not meant to change, but Jasper’s hair is longer in Eclipse than it was in New Moon and Twilight.
- When Jacob is injured by the newborn vampire in the final battle, the Cullens and the Quileutes are crouched around him. The top of Jacob’s flesh-colored body suit is quite visible at his waist; he is supposed to be nude after phasing back into human form.
- Spoiler! When Victoria’s head is popped off by Edward, who has killed her, her eyes are open. Seconds later, from another angle, her eyes are closed.
- After killing Victoria, Edward rips off a piece of Bella’s shirt to tie around her bleeding arm. If you look at where he rips her shirt, the seam is visible where the fabric has already been cut and loosely reattached; there is a long horizontal wrinkle where it doesn’t hang right from the rest of the shirt.
