Sofia Coppola reflects on the Twilight Saga
Hit Fix recently had an opportunity to interview the talented Oscar winning director Sofia Coppola. During the interview, Sofia talked about her new movie “Somewhere” and reflected on the Twilight Saga. Here is an excerpt from the article :

There is no follow up project on Coppola’s agenda after “Somewhere,” but she raised some eyebrows among the hipster set when she put her name in the pool to direct “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” a project that eventually went to fellow Academy Award winner Bill Condon. When I asked Coppola if that was the type of Hollywood studio picture she was interested in directing she sort of sidestepped the question, but she did explain her interest in the series. To read the entire article click here .
“When I saw the first one I was really impressed with the performances by Rob and Kristen - that they were so good to take the material seriously. They weren’t treating it lightly as a kid thing. And I like things for young people and my friend’s teenage daughter put me on the book and I’m a big romantic, too. I love the romantic aspect of it,” Coppola says. “So yeah, I like doing things for a young audience and usually things for kids aren’t made in that way. I thought it would have been exciting to do the first one where [their relationship was established].”

Let’s be real: Not all of Kristen Stewart’s roles are, er, strong female leads. But her turn as real-life rocker Joan Jett in the musical biopic The Runaways was so fierce, all is forgiven.

Robert Pattinson has topped a poll of who you would most like to kiss under the mistletoe.Source: IrishCentral.com via Twilightish via TwiBritneyFan
The poll which was conducted by the dating website BeNaughty revealed that the “Twilight” star was the most popular choice ahead of George Clooney, Johnny Depp and David Beckham.
Robert was voted the ‘Sexiest Man Alive” by Glamour magazine earlier this year.
Speaking about the results, Sean Wood, Operations Manager at Easydate which operates BeNaughty, said: “There is a lot of doom and gloom around at the moment and pressure for people to have the perfect Christmas with lots of presents and all the trimmings. It’s nice to know that people are getting into the festive spirit and enjoying the lighter side of Christmas.”

Robert Pattinson’s ‘Remember Me’ & Kristen Stewart’s ‘The Runaways’ Overlooked In 2010
From Film.com:More on Remember Me in 2010 after the break
Massively Underrated: Youth in Revolt / Remember Me
Youth in Revolt was an innovative comedy, but it was released during a time period where people skip the theatrical experience. And if Remember Me had featured Ryan Gosling instead of Robert Pattinson it would have been correctly hailed as great. But people got far too caught up in the ending and Pattinson’s celebrity to catch that he was really freaking good in this movie. Definitely worth a watch if you you’re a fan of relationship dramas.
From Cinemablend:
The Runaways
When I reviewed the movie back in March I called Kristen Stewart a modern James Dean. I’m standing by that. If you’ve only seen her in Twilight, you’ve probably assumed the worst about the future vampire bride, but in The Runaways Stewart is stupendous as real life, fem rocker Joan Jett. The rest of the movie around her, isn’t bad either. It’s a real, seedy, drug-infested, sex-soaked rise to rock and roll fame tale, except all the rockers just happen to be girls. The film focuses primarily on the story of Runaways front girl Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning) as she’s indoctrinated into the rock and roll lifestyle, then sexed up to sell records by the zany, scene-stealing Michael Shannon as manager Ken Fowler. But it’s Stewart Joan Jett who will really capture your attention, and she ends up carrying the movie. Stewart’s Joan lives and breathes guitar licks, as the true talent behind the music. The rock and roll scenes are toe-tapping fun and the tale of an all girl band manufactured, unleashed, and then run aground is as interesting and fucked up as it ought to be. You’d think any movie starring Kristen Stewart would be an instant sensation, yet somehow her Twilight fandom never really seemed to notice she was in it. Maybe it was the film’s hard R-rating which scared the overly chase Twilight crowd away. Whatever the reason, while the movie earned positive reviews, once it was released no one seemed to notice.

From Moviehole.net Great Films You Missed In 2010:
10. Remember Me I know, I know, ‘but it’s got that guy with more gunk in his hair than Liz Hurley does in her nether regions’ but c’mon! many-a-good-actor have started out in the cinematic mailroom and graduated to an awe-impressive high-rise suite – just look at Robin ‘Mork’ Williams, Josh ‘Goonies’ Brolin, Tom ‘Bosom Buddies’ Hanks or Stephen ‘Evil Ed’ Geoffries! (Ok, bad example) – ain’t Robert Pattinson innocent until the gavel slams down!? This film, a heartrending relationship drama (it’s both about the rapport between a young couple and also one between a young man and his estranged father) that played to the tick of a 9/11 countdown, proved there’s much more to “Twilight” vamp Robert Pattinson than blank stares, sparkles and tree hopping. Quite simply, Pattinson was an eye-opener in this film. Skeptics need see it.
From LA Times Most Under Appreciated:
Some of the more popular picks didn’t surprise — they were big-release movies with a distinct sensibility that got dissed despite (or because) they felt unique — “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” most notably among them, or even the Sept. 11 romantic tearjerker “Remember Me.”

Redblog Lists the Top 5 Twilight Characters that isn’t Edward, Bella and Jacob
Redblog recently listed their Top 5 Twilight characters that does not include the 3 leads Edward, Bella and Jacob. I have to say after reading the list, I send a big ” YAY” to these supporting characters, they make the series just that much more entertaining. Here is the list :
5. TIE! Mike Newton and Jessica Stanley – Bella’s friends provided the comic relief that was sorely needed in the first adaptation — and we all know that Anna Kendrick (Jessica) went on to make quite a name for herself in Up in the Air. I’m hoping for that same kind of break-out for Michael Welsh (Mike), whose illness during the “Face Punch” scene in New Moon totally stole the show (and, to me, was the second-best part about that movie… read on for the best). I sincerely hope we see a lot more of both Jessica and Mike in Breaking Dawn.Source : Twilight Movie via Redblog
4. Aro – Michael Sheen as the leader of The Volturi was, hands down, the best thing about New Moon, don’t you agree? That’s why I was really bummed that we weren’t treated to another performance from him in Eclipse. For those of you seeing TRON: Legacy this weekend, tell me if you don’t detect a bit of Aro-ness in Sheen’s catty Castor.
3. Rosalie Hale - It’s funny, because in the books I adored Alice Cullen, but I can’t stand her in the films. Conversely, I thought Rosalie was a whiny brat in the novels, but she very much grew on me in the movies — especially in Eclipse. Her heart-to-heart talk with Bella about the life she’ll be giving up to become a vampire — and that crazy Vengeful Bride flashback! — were highlights of the third film.
2. Billy Black – Played with quiet confidence by Gil Birmingham, Billy (Jacob’s father) provides a calming presence for the lovesick, hormone-ravaged teenagers surrounding him. You believe that this guy’s seen it all… and that he fears for what will become of his tribe now that “the cold ones” have returned to their area. And you also know that he probably wishes he could smack Bella for how she treats Jacob!
1. Charlie Swan - For me, if they didn’t get Charlie right in the films, the entire franchise was going to be a lost cause. That’s why I was so pleased when I saw how Billy Burke embodied all that I had envisioned for Charlie when I read the books. He’s the protective dad (with good reason), he’s the stoic cop, and — along with Jacob — he’s the biggest reason Bella has to second-guess her desire to join the undead.
Rob and Kristen included in Forbes Magazine’s Highest Grossing Actors of 2010
Forbes rcently released their list of the highest grossing actors for 2010 and our very own Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson made the list. Kristen and Rob took the #6 and #7 spots on the list. Here are the details :
Robert PattinsonSource : Twilight Movie via Forbes
$749 million - The Twilight films have been perennial earners, so it’s no surprise to see Pattinson on this list. He ranks above his costar Kristin Stewart thanks to Remember Me, a weepy romance that earned a healthy $56 million on an estimated budget of $16 million. Pattinson’s next film is an adaptation of the bestselling book Water for Elephants.
Kristin Stewart
$698 million- Like her costar Pattinson, Stewart starred in a non-Twilight film this year. It didn’t perform very well though. The Runawaysbrought in only $4.7 million. The final Twilight book, Breaking Dawn, has been divided into two films that are both sure to be big earners. The first hits theaters in November 2011.
Hollywood’s Scalding Hot Bachelors of 2010
“Robert Pattinson, with his steely blue eyes and the utter confidence that he exudes on screen as the cold blooded vampire Edward Cullen, is a big hit among females all over the world. Despite the rumours of his romance with ‘Twilight’ costar Kristen Stewart, his popularity continues to soar.”Also mentioned in the article is Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe and Gossip Girl’s Nicholas Hoult.
“Taylor Lautner, the werewolf from the Twilight series is also hot in the list. Lautner has been linked to quite a few costars, the latest one being Lily Collins, who stars with him in ‘Abduction’.”
