From James Bond to Spiderman, he's been the subject of a great deal of future role speculation, and today a new, albeit more colorful, suggestion has hit the net.
According to Cinema Blend, the U.K.'s ever-so-unpredictable The Sun has begun what will inevitably be a long line of mixed storytelling on the subject of Robert Pattinson's potential next project.
The story, of course, comes with the astute caveat that the "information" contained therein should be "treat[ed] as wild speculation until there’s some sort of confirmation." Wise words.
The Sun's story is that Robert Pattinson has been badgering Courtney Love ("calling and emailing her non-stop" and causing her to be "a bit wound up by his manners" to quote The Sun precisely) for a spot in a biopic film about her ill-fated late husband and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Pretty out of character behavior being reported here.
"She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music," and Robert Pattinson "is her number one choice to play Kurt," The Sun reports. Another must-have for Love, continues the publication, is Scarlett Johansson to portray, well, her.
Cinema Blend takes a bite at the rumors, saying "[t]his is the first anyone’s even heard of Fincher making a Nirvana movie, let alone casting for it."
So, for now, this one should promptly go into the typical rumor bin until the Gossip Cop has a look at it.
UPDATE: Well, the Gossip Cop did indeed get ahold of this one, and it is busted. Check out their story here.
