MTV interviewed Peter Facinelli on the red carpet at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 16th. We previously posted Peter talking about Kristen as a vampire. Here Peter talked about lots of dance numbers, how fantastic director Bill Condon is and shooting the ending sequence was ‘sad’.
“Lots of dance numbers,” Peter said with a laugh. Funny, indeed. Could you picture the story’s final showdown re-imagined as a “West Side Story”-esque dance-off? (I bet those Volturi robes would be mad-difficult to bust a move in.)
But in all seriousness, Peter did have many lovely things to say about the man in charge. “We’re shooting two at once so it’s a little brutal on the hours, but I think we’re getting good stuff,” he said. “Bill Condon’s fantastic. He’s just such a great actor’s director. He’s really collaborative, and he’s a joy to work with.”
“The other day when we shot that ending sequence, we knew that was the ending of the last two movies and it got a little melancholy,” Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, told us on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday. “It was sad.”
While the 37-year-old actor wouldn’t delve into detail about the scene — “Lots of vampires,” he teased — Robert Pattinson, also walking the Globes carpet, dished about the lengthy climax toward the end of “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.” “There’s like a 27-minute sequence in the final sequence, and it takes forever to shoot,” he revealed. “There’s about 75 people in it. Being on a piece of fake snow surrounded by green screen for like a month, it’s driving me absolutely insane.”
