Jackson Rathbone Tells MTV That the Most Gratifying Part of ‘Eclipse’ Was Uncovering Jasper’s ‘Pain’

In an awesome new interview with MTV, Eclipse Vampire Jackson Rathbone (aka Jasper Hale) spoke about his character, Jasper,  in Eclipse. What his character is going through emotionally, and what we can expect action wise from Eclipse -
“There are some really cool action scenes,” Jackson told Hollywood Crush. “We worked with some amazing stunt men and women who were so incredible and just a lot of fun to work with and collaborate with. They taught me a lot. So I hope to see a lot more of the action [in the next 'Eclipse' trailer].”
Though we don’t learn much about Jackson’s Jasper Hale in “Twilight” and “New Moon,” his background is explored much more in “Eclipse.” “I’m excited for a step up with Jasper’s character,” Jackson said. “It’s been two, three years and now I get to kind of go outside and show a little bit more of what makes Jasper tick. We get to go into his back story — see where he came from, who he was before, what makes him who we see in the first film of ‘Twilight,’ what makes him seem like he’s always in pain, why he’s always in pain … because he is.”
So why, exactly, is he in so much agony? “He’s almost depressed,” Jackson said. “He wants to live a good life. He wants to be part of the Cullen family. He is the newest to this vegetarian vampire way of life, and he’s still trying to be part of that and address his inner demons and what he used to be. It was really fun to be able to express that.”
Jackson credits director David Slade, whom he called “amazing,” with helping to show how Jasper evolved into his present self. “I’ve always been a fan of his, especially his first film, ‘Hard Candy.’ I thought he did an incredible job with ‘30 Days of Night,’ so when I first got there, I talked his ear off about ‘30 Days of Night’ and how he got a couple of shots and all that.”
Some of Jackson’s favorite scenes to film were the ones that explore Jasper’s origins. “Whenever we got to go into Jasper’s back story,” he said, “I got to don the Civil War regalia and ride a horse. It had been years since I’d been on a horse, so it was fun. I used to ride when I was in Texas.”
According to some folks in the know (i.e. lucky people who have seen parts of the film), Jackson gives one of breakout performances in “Eclipse.” Jackson, however, brushed off the compliment, saying it was a little too soon to judge.
“I’d say wait for the film before you compliment me,” he chuckled.
I am speechless. I cannot WAIT to see Jasper tell his story. And for everyone to see how talented Jackson really is. Yes — he is amazingly hot. But he is down to Earth, intelligent, and extremely talented.

Stephenie Meyer offering 'bonus chapter' in paperback version of 'The Host'

Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host' - Hatchette Books
As progress in bringing Stephenie Meyer's The Host to the big screen continues, the book has finally made its way to paperback, and that version will include a bonus chapter as well!
According to The Host Fan, the extra chapter "is something Stephenie wrote when she was working with the film producers – it was a scene that Stephenie always had in her head, but it couldn’t appear in the book because her narrator was unconscious at the time. The 'omitted' chapter would, chronology-wise, fall in between Chapter 58 and 59 of The Host."
The site notes that this is the period of transition for Wanda between Melanie's body and Pet's.
Stephenie Meyer's official website announced that the book is now available for pre-order on Amazon, and will include the following:
  • New, never-before-published "bonus chapter"
  • An interview with Stephenie
  • Discussion topics and questions
  • Stephenie's annotated playlist
The release date for the paperback version of The Host is April 13, 2010.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' to be directed by 'The Reader' director Stephen Daldry?

'Breaking Dawn' by Stephenie Meyer - Hatchette Books
Yesterday, the net was a-buzz after the L.A. Times broke the news that directors being considered for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn were not just three-fold.
Adding to the list of potentials of interest is, they report, Stephen Daldry, director of The Reader (which earned him one of several  Oscar nominations).
"[T]here are not yet indications Daldry would actually take the gig, but the fact that Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the films, has reached out to him suggests where its intentions lie for the fourth film."
The list previously announced by Entertainment Weekly included Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls).
In addition to The Reader, Daldry has directed The Hours and Billy Elliot.
The L.A. Times concludes, Breaking Dawn "will in all likelihood be shot in the fall. That gives Summit a little more time to comb through high-end directors."

Anna Kendrick featured in 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' trailer

Anna Kendrick - AP Photo
After everything that Up In The Air meant for Anna Kendrick's career, a lot of folks are looking to see what she'll do next.
Of course, prior to becoming an Oscar nominee, Kendrick filmed Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World with Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, and Jason Schwartzman, and the film is scheduled for an August release.
In the teaser for the film, Kendrick (who portrays "Stacy Pilgrim") appears in the last few moments and says "Next time, we don't date the girl will eleven evil ex-boyfriends."
The film looks to be a pretty quirky and unique new endeavor for Kendrick, and it has already picked up a bit of buzz from others like Greg Mottola (director of Adventureland).
Kendrick twittered about the trailer release, saying "Deal. With. This."

Breaking Dawn Directors

MTV has an article talking about the different directors rumored to be in the running to direct Breaking Dawn.
Check out the article here.
Here is an excerpt:

A new name entered the potential directors pool for “Breaking Dawn” yesterday: Stephen Daldry. He previously directed only three films — “The Reader,” “The Hours” and “Billy Elliott” — but he received Academy Award nominations for all three of them. Daldry joins a group of three previously named talents who Summit is considering to helm the final installment in the “Twilight” series.

Do you favor any of these directors for Breaking Dawn?

Jackson Interview

MTV Has an interview with Jackson Rathbone.
Check it all out here.
Here is an excerpt:
Jackson Rathbone has now starred in three vampire movies (you may have heard of them, “Twilight” something or other), but the 25-year-old actor’s first foray into horror is “Dread,” newly released on DVD, about a college student who makes a documentary about what people dread most in life.
The film, based on a short story by horror king Clive Barker, isn’t necessarily typical of the genre, Rathbone said in an interview yesterday. “I hate to call it a horror film because it’s really more of a psychological thriller,” he said. “Clive Barker’s known for those horroristic elements, and it was more of a humanistic story.”

Justin and Michael Interview

In This Week has an interview with Justin Chon and Michael Welch.
Read the entire interview here.
Here is an excerpt:

Welch, who appeared in “Star Trek: Insurrection” and a fan-favorite episode of “Stargate SG-1,” explains that this isn’t the first time he’s seen dedicated fans.

“I’ve always been in awe of sci-fi fans because their passion is remarkable. And the thing that is great about sci-fi fans is that if they enjoy what you do in the sci-fi world they’ll follow you outside of that world as well. It has been a great pleasure to get to know the “Stargate” fans over the years, but this brings it to a new level. People were screaming for us before the first film even came out and I made the joke at one point saying, ‘We may suck and ruin your story so I wouldn’t be screaming at us quite yet,’” he says with a laugh.

Peter Interview

Moviefone has an interview with Peter Facinelli.
Check it all out here.
Here is an excerpt:
Do ‘Twilight’ fans quote anything to you most often?
“Whose going to want you now?” [Laughs] No, actually, I get asked to say, “Animal attack.”

When you took the role as Carlisle, did you read the whole series?
Well, I read the first book before meeting with Catherine Hardwicke, just to see what it was about. I fell in love with it. When I got the role, I read the second and third book immediately. The fourth book hadn’t come out yet. When it did, I listened to it on audio book. It was like listening to a bedtime story. Not because the book was boring, but because the person’s voice kept lulling me to sleep.

New Moon’ Stars Visit Fans at The Naval Exchange

Yesterday we posted a pic of Twilight Saga:New Moon stars Daniel Cudmore & Alex Meraz on board a very stylish private jet, headed to my favorite place: Virginia Beach, Virginia!
And they weren’t alone.  The beautiful Christian Serratos aka Angela Webber was also in attendance, to greet 300 fans who won a meet & greet with the actors and get their pics taken.
The lines were long and the affection WAS genuine for Daniel Cudmore, Christian Serratos and Alex Meraz, aka Felix, Angela and Paul in the vampire versus wolfpack love stories known as the Twilight Saga.NAS Oceana invited the trio to meet the troops and appear at the Exchange.
Actor Alex Meraz said he got his start six years ago in Colonial Williamsburg as an extra in the movie New World.
“Six years later, almost to the day, I am flying back here. It’s a private jet and I am looking around. It’s so bizarre to me. It was really really humbling,” said Meraz.
300 families won a chance to meet the actors onstage and get a photo taken with them.
“It was great and we loved coming out and meeting the characters of the show we’ve read the books. We love it. We watched the movies dozens of times. We’re total Twi-hard fanatics,” said Deborah Boggs.
The Navy presented the three with jackets and caps from VFA-31 “The Tomcatters.” The actors also got a ride in a simulator.
This was super awesome. I bet those 300 fans slept pretty good last night.  It’s really sweet that in their downtime, the cast members still think of we the fans and do things like this for us.  We have the most kind hearted cast ever!

Wax Rob Vs. Real Rob!

We previously posted the unveiling of the wax figure of Robert Pattinson at Madame Tussauds in London.  Team Spaceheaters had a great idea on doing a comparison of the Wax Rob Vs. The Real Rob after reading all the comments.  Some figures are that same. But nothin can compare to the real Robert.

‘The Twilight Saga:Eclipse’ Will Bring a Red-Eyed Edward Cullen?

With several sneak peaks and with the official trailer that was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, twihards all over are scrutinizing every little detail. And this time it was Edward Cullen that was spotted…with red eyes!
Team Twilightcaught onto the fact that the clip featured a flash of Edward Cullen with red eyes. A closer inspection of the image reveals that he is not only red-eyed but also apparently wearing a Volturi crest necklace much like those worn in New Moon by Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower, et al.
A commentator to the blog scoured the book to find that there is a sequence in the story on Page 305 that might explain the origin of the moment.
“In Aro’s head he saw me at his one side and Alice at his other,” Edward Cullen says.
It may be a flash imagination of the thought like we saw in New Moonwith Alice’s “vision” of Bella as a vampire. Though, Michael Sheen (who portrays Aro) isn’t listed on any Eclipse cast list that I’ve seen . . . It’s still entirely possible that the scene went through without him here. Only time will tell.
Still very interesting, no?

Waxed Robert Pattinson Has Been Unveiled In London!

The Robert Pattinson wax figure has been unveiledat the Madame Tussauds in London on Thursday, March 25th! Fans got cozy with the waxed Rob at the unveiling.   The Rob wax figure in New York City will be unveiled Thursday as well.
We sparked a fan frenzy today as a brand new wax figure of Hollywood’s hottest young actor, Robert Pattinson joined the A-List to the approval of his adoring fans.
Residing in a specially created VIP section of our A-List party area, the British born star’s figure mirrors his rugged style with an open collared shirt and skinny trousers, trademark sultry expression and tousled hair. To mark his debut a group of his most ardent fans were invited to be the first to step into his exclusive VIP room and “meet” their hero.
“The figure looks really great! Just like him – his hair is spot on.” Said Katie Sear, 23 from Luton. She continued: “It’s amazing, almost like meeting the real thing! I’m sure people are going to love it; he is just gorgeous!”
Liz Edwards, our spokesperson said: “R-Pattz is one of the hottest celebs on the planet. We are delighted to be able to give them the chance to cosy up with their idol here at Madame Tussauds and judging by the reactions of the first to meet him here this morning he is set to top our “most kissed list of celebrities very quickly!”

Twilight' star Taylor Lautner wins Teen Vogue 'best smile'

Taylor Lautner - AP Photo
A little over a year ago, Tyra Banks made the comment on her show that Twilight star Taylor Lautner had one of the best smiles she'd ever seen.
Well, it seems that a lot of people agree with her because he's just been given the Teen Vogue award for "Best Smile" in the 2010 Teen Vogue Beauty Awards.
The awards were based on fan-submitted entries, and Lautner was one of the few people to win awards (since most of the award recipients were beauty products).
Also on the list were Taylor Swift ("Best Hair"), Beyonce Knowles ("Best Body Image"), and Chanel Iman ("Favorite Model").
Yet another reason for the (multi-) million dollar boy to flash those pearly whites!

I agree with this choice . Taylor has a cute smile.  Congrats Taylor!

Twilight: The Graphic Novel Volume 1' displaces former graphic novel sales records

'Twilight: The Graphic Novel Volume 1' - Hatchette Books
Little Brown Publishing's latest Twilight book has quickly fallen in line with the rest of Stephenie Meyer's novels as a chart-topping piece of work.
This time, it's Twilight: The Graphic Novel Volume 1 by Stephenie Meyer and Young Kim, and, according to a recent press release, it made history with sales of over "66,000 copies in its first week, the largest debut for a graphic novel in the US."
The book "already broke the record for largest first printing for a graphic novel with 350,000 copies" and was released on March 16th.
It is available at many a retailer, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books a Million, Borders, and Target.

'Twilight' stars Daniel Cudmore, Christian Serratos, and Alex Meraz visit military base

Yesterday, three stars of The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - Daniel Cudmore, Christian Serratos, and Alex Meraz - made their way to the Oceana Naval Exchange in Virginia Beach to visit members, dependents, and retirees of the military who were pre-selected to attend.
According to Hampton Roads, the 300 pre-selected autograph recipients were but a drop in the bucket of the amount present to see the three.
An "estimated 2,350 came to see actors Christian Serratos (Angela), Alex Meraz (Paul) and Daniel Cudmore (Felix), who also got a tour of the base," and Nikki Reed and Tyson Houseman were originally scheduled to attend but got sick and were unable to come.

Daniel Cudmore says 'X-Men' fandom didn't prepare him 'at all' for 'Twilight'

Daniel Cudmore in 'New Moon' - Summit Ent.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon wasn't Daniel Cudmore's first time on the big fandom film circuit. He was, prior to becoming "Felix" in New Moon and Eclipse, the X-Men series' Colossus.
X-Men, of course, has its own devoted following, but, according to Daniel Cudmore in his recent interview with Twilight Lexicon, the series did not prepare him "at all" for what Twilight had to offer in the way of fans.
Lately, Cudmore's gotten a good read on Twilight fans due to his frequency on the official Twilight convention tour list with Creation Entertainment.
Twilight, he revealed, has "definitely gotten me in doors whereas before they might’ve said ‘Eh, not really sure if we wanna see him’ . . . so I can’t say enough of how great it’s been to be a part of this Saga."

Twilight' and 'Last Airbender' star Jackson Rathbone to attend Kids' Choice Awards

Jackson Rathbone - AP Photo
It looks like Jackson Rathbone ("Jasper Hale" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) will be the Twilight rep at this year's Kids' Choice Awards show by Nickelodeon.
Twilight Lexicon has a video posted of Rathbone featured in the award show's commercial footage for his work in The Last Airbender.
The Twilight series has received quite a few nominations for this year's Kids' Choice Awards, including "Favorite Movie" for New Moon, "Favorite Book" for the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, "Favorite Movie Actor" for Taylor Lautner, and more.
The Kids' Choice Awards airs on March 27th, and more on the show can be found here.
Last year, Taylor Lautner attended the KCA.

Sons of Tucson Reads Twilight

Sons of Tuscon
The new Fox series, Sons of Tucson, featured Twilight in their most recent episode. There is an entire running bit as one of the three boys is reading the book featuring lines like”
“These vampires are a lot more morally complex than I would have thought.”
“Don’t go to prom with him, Bella. I know he’s hunky and handsome, but he’ll eat you alive!”
You can catch the entire episode here.

Julia Jones To Do Music Video

chuck-julia
Julia Jones, who plays Leah Clearwater in the upcoming Eclipse movie, is going to be in a Chuck Wicks music video. According to The Boot:
“The two never met until last week and didn’t even know each other existed until a mutual friend put them together. “I talked to my publicist out in L.A and said, ‘I need somebody that’s just a great actress, that’s exotic and sexy,” Chuck tells The Boot. “And she [said], ‘I’ve got the perfect person … Julia Jones.’ And so, you know me, I googled her! And I said, ‘She’s perfect.’ And she said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ [Julia] heard the song and loved it. That’s what was mind-blowing to me is that she said she loved the song and that was cool.”
Julia didn’t know anything about Chuck before getting cast in the music video, so, naturally she took similar action to the singer. “I got this phone call and the first thing I thought of was, ‘Well, let me hear the song,’” the actress tells The Boot. “So I did two things — I listened to the song and then I googled Chuck. And I said, [giggling] ‘OK!’”

Twilight stars Visit Naval Exchange

According to the local Fox affiliate:
“Yeah, it’s a lot of pressure,” said actress Christian Serratos, who played ‘Angela’ in the movie. “I mean nobody really wants to disappoint these fans.”
Organizers say the event was a way to thank the military families for all they go through.
“It’s really geared towards the military families, the active duty and their dependents, “Robin Joseph, General Manager of the Navy Exchange Oceana Complex told WAVY News 10. “And it’s just a great opportunity for the stars to give back to the military community.”
That goal wasn’t lost on Serratos.
“One, you’re getting to see some really cool stuff and on the other hand you’re grateful to these people who are risking their lives,” she said. “It’s awesome.”
After their appearance at the Exchange, the cast members toured the base, visited a squadron and saw a F/A-18 Super Hornet.”

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' will bring a red-eyed Edward Cullen

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' sneak peek screencap
One fractional moment in the sneak peek of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD at WalMart has revealed a great deal about what to expect from Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in Eclipse
Team Twilight caught onto the fact that the clip featured a flash of Edward Cullen with red eyes.
"In Aro's head he saw me at his one side and Alice at his other," Edward Cullen says.
It may be a flash imagination of the thought like we saw in New Moon with Alice's "vision" of Bella as a vampire. Though, Michael Sheen (who portrays Aro) isn't listed on any Eclipse cast list that I've seen . . . It's still entirely possible that the scene went through without him here. Only time will tell.

Amazon makes space for 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' goodies

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
It looks like, once again, Amazon is making way for the next Twilight movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse of course, and all of the goodies that come along with it.
For starters, a page for the Official Eclipse soundtrack has already been started, and while there are no artists or songs listed, the page looks legitimate - or at least as legitimate as the Official New Moon soundtrack listing looked around this time before The Twilight Saga: New Moon was released. No date has been listed for the album's release.
The same has been done for Mark Cotta Vaz's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: The Official Movie Companion.
Vaz penned both the Twilight and New Moon companion books, and the release date for his Eclipse companion is set for June 29, 2010 - just before the film's theatrical release. Last year with New Moon, the companion was released well over a month before the film, but this go-round might entail a bit of detail sheltering . . . just a thought.
Also on Amazon's "coming soon" features is a listing for Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer to be released on May 25, 2010. That's a little more than a month before the film hits theaters, so it could be the movie tie-in version. The New Moon tie-in was released on September 15, 2009 (more than two months before the film's theatrical release), but, again, there may be a few temporal adjustments in the works for Eclipse.
While there's no reason to rush to the "Pre-Order" button just yet, these are definitely a few pages to keep an eye on over the coming months leading up to Eclipse!

Twilight' screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg says 'Breaking Dawn' will 'be a big challenge'

Melissa Rosenberg - AP Photo
A question still lingering on the lips of just about everyone who knows anything about Twilight is "What is the status of Breaking Dawn on film?"
At least, that seems to be the case in cast, director, and - in this instance - screenwriter interviews.
Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter for Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, talked to Bethel Komo about where things stand on her end in the Breaking Dawn world, and she revealed an expectation that Breaking Dawn would be challenging for her as a screenwriter but that she was prepared for some negative feedback and flack she might get for it.
It's the big one, it's gonna be a big challenge, and I guarantee you that not all of the fans will be happy, and I guarantee you some of them will be. You have to give up the ideal of making everybody happy, it's just not gonna happen, but you hope you make the majority happy. Again, for that last book it is about taking that specific character Bella on her journey. It's a big journey, it's a massive change for her, and you hope to realize that.
As for where on the timeline of filmmaking Breaking Dawn lies? Rosenberg stated that things were still in pre-production limbo but that it couldn't last too much longer since "vampires aren't supposed to age, so you know."
