Julia Jones Goes Barefoot For ‘One Day Without Shoes’

Julia Jones (aka Leah Clearwater) went barefoot on the beach to support a worthy cause, One Day Without Shoes,  on April 8th.
Toms Shoes, the company that donates one pair of shoes to needy children around the globe for every pair of shoes they sell, asked friends to go barefoot on the beach to raise awareness for the cause.
On Thursday, Toms founder Blake Mycoskie left his slip-ons at home to mark the third year of One Day Without Shoes and asked friends, including actresses Olivia Wilde (“House”) and Julia Jones (“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”), to shed their heels at Axe restaurant and walk down Abbot Kinney to his sister Paige’s Aviator Nation boutique. The point is to drive home the message of what it would be like to spend a day barefoot as many people around the world do when they lack the means to purchase a pair.
According to Toms’ website, more than a quarter of a million people participated in 1,600 One Day Without Shoes events around the world, including the one here.
Mycoskie had biked to the office that morning wearing no shoes and had cut his foot within the first 45 minutes. “One Day without Shoes is to realize the importance of going without,” he said.
“It feels great to go without shoes, but it’s only for a day,” said Wilde, who’s about to start shooting “Cowboys and Aliens” with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. “It’s a brilliant way to raise awareness of children in developing countries and put yourself in someone’s shoes for a few hours.”
Wonderful cause!   Julia is just the best.  What a beautiful person…inside and out.

Fans at 'The Twilight Sag: New Moon' premiere - AP Photo
Twilight fans, if you ever wanted the chance to go see Oprah when it counts, now's the time.
Oprah is asking the biggest Twilight fans to submit their stories about how the series has impacted their lives.
On the show's official website, a submission portal opened up with the following invitation.
Are you or your kids obsessed with the Twilight series? Have you or your kids read all the books, seen both movies and now you are counting down the days until the release of Eclipse? Have you already made plans for the release of the newest movie in June? Who's your family's favorite Twilight star...and why?
Why do you love the story so much? How has it impacted your life? What have you learned from the series and how has it made you a better person? Are you a housewife who's started a fan club with friends? Do you have a young adult in your family who's been inspired to write his/her own stories? Has the romance in Twilight sparked the romance in your own relationship?
Tell us how the Twilight series has inspired you or your family! Please only write if you are willing to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
While details as to what the exact nature of the proposed show is are sparse at this time, chances are this is an audience prep for a The Twilight Saga: Eclipse-related cast appearance . . . especially since Twilight series author Stephenie Meyer just recently made an appearance on the show. Although, it very well could be that she's coming back!
The only way to find out is to enter for yourself and wait it out. Here's where you'll find more details about Oprah's Twilight call. Good luck!

Bill Condon for Breaking Dawn?

FearNet has an article up stating Why they think Bill Condon Could Be Good for Breaking Dawn.
Check out the article here.
Remember, Summit has still not confirmed a director for the movie!
Here is an excerpt:

Genre Experience

While Condon is best known for his more recent Oscar-caliber work (see above), a look back in his filmography reveals a surprising knack for genre fare that one might not otherwise expect from the man behind Chicago and Dreamgirls. After a career stint as a journalist, Condon entered showbiz as the screenwriter of 1981’s low-budget horror spoof Strange Behavior (AKA Dead Kids), an Illinois-set Ozsploitation flick followed by a sci-fi sequel, Strange Invaders. He made his directorial debut a few years later with the 1987 Gothic thriller Sister, Sister and in 1995 helmed Candyman 2: Farewell to the Flesh (the one that reveals the Candyman’s tragic origin story, involving a lynch mob, honey, and a swarm of bees).
A few years later, Condon left behind the horror fare to begin his better known period, starting with the critically-acclaimed Gods and Monsters — a biopic of horror director James Whale (Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein). That film demonstrated Condon’s knowledge of the horror genre and his ability to infuse it with humanistic storytelling, which will be key in adapting Breaking Dawn, a story that balances Bella Swan’s involvement in the vampire and werewolf worlds with themes of marriage, family, and romance.

Julia Jones Meet The Amazing Race

Fans of the shoe The Amazing Race may remember a brother and sister team from a few years ago, Blake and Paige. At teh time Blake was a recent college grad and budding entrepenuer. Their time in the race made Blake more aware of third world poverty and how in many nations children had no shoes. So he started a company to get shoes to the kids who didn’t have them and now he’s asking celebrity friends to help with the cause.
The LA Times reports:
“Toms Shoes, the company that donates one pair of shoes to needy children around the globe for every pair of shoes they sell, asked friends to go barefoot on the beach to raise awareness for the cause.
The point is to drive home the message of what it would be like to spend a day barefoot as many people around the world do when they lack the means to purchase a pair.”

FearNet: Why Bill Condon Could Be Good For Breaking Dawn

Bill-Condonsolo
Jen Yamato from FearNet analyzes why Bill Condon could be the best thing for the Twilight franchise.
“Though it’s not yet official, this week’s news that Dreamgirls director Bill Condon has pulled into the lead to direct the remaining two films in the Twilight franchise has given us plenty of food for thought. What makes the Oscar-winning razzle-dazzle specialist a shoe-in to direct Breaking Dawn over other rumored contenders Sofia Coppola and Gus Van Sant?
Oscar Cred
Catherine Hardwicke had indie film respect (Twilight), Chris Weitz had slick CG epic filmmaking under his belt (New Moon), and David Slade seemed like a perfect genre director to bring the franchise into horror-thriller territory (Eclipse). But while each of the previous Twilight Saga directors has been well-suited to their respective adaptations in different ways, Condon brings with him a very important element that could help the franchise go out with a bang: his shiny Academy Award statuette, won in 1999 for writing the horror-related flick Gods and Monsters.
Condon notched another Oscar nomination for scripting 2002’s Chicago, the film musical that effectively relaunched the musical genre in modern-day Hollywood. And even when he didn’t directly receive Oscar nods or wins, his films have (Dreamgirls earned eight nominations and won two Academy Awards; Kinsey earned one nomination; and Gods and Monsters earned actors Ian McKellen and Lynn Redgrave their own respective nods). He also co-produced the 2009 Academy Awards telecast — which, if we all recall, wasn’t that well-received, but hey — it’s the Oscars!”

JACKSON RATHBONE TALKS DREAD AND WHY HE LIKES JASPER

The New York Post’s Pop Wrap has a new interview with Jackson Rathbone where he talks about the unsettling nature of Dread, playing different characters and why he likes Jasper. Read more below:
PW: Seems like music is a common theme on your sets — the “Twilight” cast is all pretty musical as well, right? Jackson: Oh yeah, we have a lot of musicians in the cast – it’s fun, we’d have Cullen Family Jam Band Sessions in the hotel. Sit around, play harmonica and work on some songs. We’d help Rob [Pattinson] out with songs he was working on, they’d help with songs I was working on, Nikki [Reed] and I would write song together and Kristen [Stewart] would play a bit too.
PW: You seem to jump around with your films and characters — never sticking with one genre for too long. Is that kind of the plan?
Jackson: Absolutely. I want to spread my wings and play as many different characters as possible. Growing up, in the theater, I always played these out-there characters, I was never the leading man. Honestly, I find it a little more boring than playing the psycho or bad guy antagonist. It’s something I’ve always tried to go for. I try to change my look, my walk, my talk in every single person I play. It’s important to me as an actor not to get pigeonholed.
PW: So is it difficult then to play Jasper over the course of five films?
Jackson: The thing I like about Jasper’s arc is that it’s very developed — you don’t know much about him in the first film. He’s always in pain but don’t know why, until the second film, when you realize that he’s the newest to the family and he’s basically dying of hunger. It’s very difficult to live that vampryic lifestyle. So he’s having trouble adjusting. In the third film, we get to seeJasper’s backstory – see who he used to be and why he’s having such a hard time transitioning.
PW: So “Eclipse” will flashback to his time in The Civil War?
Jackson:Yeah. We do a little segue/backstory in “Eclipse”,when he was turned during the Civil War. We get to see his more aggressive tendencies. When you’re first turned into a vampire, that’s when you’re at your most ravenous, most vicious – so you seeJasper go through that. It was a lot of fun to bring out the darker side of Jasper that he’s been holding back.

Ashley Greene In ‘Butter’!!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen) has signed on to star in the upcoming comedy Butter.
“Twilight” regular Ashley Greene has joined the Weinstein Co. comedy “Butter.”Jennifer Garner is producing and starring in the film, based on the Black List screenplay written by newcomer Jason Micallef. Alissa Phillips and Mike De Luca are also producing the project, which director Jim Field Smith (“She’s Out of My League”) will begin filming next week in Louisiana.
“Butter” follows a number of competitive characters in a small Midwestern town as they become entwined in an annual butter-carving contest. Greene will play a rebellious high school teenager named Kaitlen Pickler. (Do I smell a sequel built around anaerobic fermentation?)
Repped by Innovative Artists and McKeon-Myones Entertainment, Greene just wrapped shooting on the Warner Bros./Dark Castle thriller “The Apparition.” She will next reprise her role as Alice Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” which Summit releases in June, and she stars in the indie drama “Skateland,” which had its world premiere at Sundance in January.

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning star in this music-fueled story of the ground-breaking, all girl, teenage rock band of the 1970s: The Runaways. The film follows two friends, Joan Jett and Cherie Curie, as they rise from rebellious Southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary group that paved the way for future generations of girl bands. Joan and Cherie fall under the Svengali-like influence of rock impresario Kim Fowley, played by Michael Shannon, who turns the group into an outrageous success and a family of misfits. With its tough-chick image and raw talent, the band quickly earns a name for itself – and so do its two leads: Joan is the band’ s pure rock’ n’ roll heart, while Cherie, with her Bowie-Bardot looks, is the sex kitten. Written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, the film chronicles Joan and Cherie’s tumultuous relationship on and off stage, as the band starts to break out.
To celebrate Kristen’s birthday, let’s all go see The Runaways this weekend!!

Ashley Greene On Possible ‘Breaking Dawn’ Directors

We previously posted the article from Deadline of the potential front runner for the director of Breaking Dawn could be Bill Condon.  MTV recently spoke with Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen) on her thoughts about all the possible Breaking Dawn directors.
“They didn’t get to where they are by making mediocre, boring films,” Ashley said of her excitement over the names. “I think they would all bring incredible elements to the films, and that’s what I think we’ve been doing the whole time. You’ve seen such a difference between Catherine [Hardwicke], and then we went to Chris Weitz and then David Slade, and it’s progressively getting a little darker.
“They are all incredible directors,” she added. “I think we’d be very happy with all of them.”
Gus Van Sant: “I became excited about Gus Van Sant not too long ago, because I was reading a script that Bryce Dallas Howard was actually producing [with him called 'Restless']; she was talking to me a little bit about him and the film as a whole,” Ashley said of the avant-garde filmmaker behind everything from blockbusters (“Good Will Hunting”) to bizarre indie flicks (“My Own Private Idaho”). “I think Gus Van Sant would be pretty amazing.”
Sofia Coppola: “In ['Breaking Dawn'] in particular, there’s this whole thing about Bella finally just getting to be with Edward and her going through pregnancy and her having a child, and it’s a lot of stuff from a female point of view,” explained Greene, saying that the “Lost in Translation” filmmaker could inject a welcome return to feminism unseen since Hardwicke left the franchise. “I definitely think that would be kind of cool.”
Bill Condon: “I haven’t seen ['Gods and Monsters'] … I actually haven’t seen ‘Dreamgirls’ either,” Greene sheepishly admitted of Condon’s 1998 and 2006 Oscar-winning masterpieces, joking nonetheless that if he wanted to add some song-and-dance numbers to “Breaking Dawn,” she wouldn’t complain. “I wouldn’t mind; I think if he were to direct, I’d be right there in his ear going, ‘So you know, I used to dance and I can sing.’ I definitely wouldn’t mind doing a musical. It’s one of the things I definitely plan on doing [in my film career].”
According to Gossip Cop, director Bill Condon is engaged in negotiations with Summit.  ”As of now, no final decision has been made.”

Twilight' star Ashley Greene wraps 'Apparition,' moving on with 'Butter'

Ashley Greene - AP Photo
Yesterday was the "bittersweet" end to filming for Ashley Greene's Apparition. Or so she tweeted.
The tweet of finale bookends filming of this, the project that she raved about in Interview Magazine, as she announced the beginning of filming in the same fashion at the end of January.
Apparition is Greene's first headliner, and it helped to further tighten the relationship of the Twilight and Harry Potter crews by bringing in Tom Felton to star.
The end of Apparition filming, however, is not the end to Greene's present extra-Twilight occupation.
According to ComingSoon.net, Greene has just signed on for The Weinstein Company's Butter, co-starring Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Rob Corddry, and Ty Burrell.
The source reports that Greene will be portraying a high schooler in the film, which chronicles the competitive butter-carving adventures of an orphan (odd much?) and that she'll serve as a producer for the film as well.

Jackson Rathbone says 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' will have Civil War flashback scene

Jackson Rathbone in 'Twilight' - Summit Ent.
Twilight fans have come to know that book-to-screen adaptations can sometimes leave little nuanced details by the wayside.
Of course, noone would contend that Jasper Hale's backstory setting in Eclipse is but a small event, but exactly how it'll be presented on-screen in The Twilight Saga; Eclipse remains to be seen.
The first, and perhaps most obvious, clue that the film would include a visual depiction of those events was the casting list.
Kirsten Prout and Catalina Sandino Moreno were chosen to portray the characters Lucy and Maria, two whose decision to transform and keep Jasper as a personal soldier leads him to not only become a vampire, but to become one who deigns to battle newborns and later resent his way of life (or undeath).
Adding to that information is a recent interview with the New York Post in which Jackson Rathbone revealed a few important details about how his character's backstory would play out in the film.
We do a little segue/backstory in "Eclipse", when he was turned during the Civil War. We get to see his more aggressive tendencies. When you’re first turned into a vampire, that’s when you’re at your most ravenous, most vicious – so you see Jasper go through that. It was a lot of fun to bring out the darker side of Jasper that he’s been holding back.

Twilight' star Billy Burke to release a music album this summer

Billy Burke - AP Photo
Anyone who's watched the facial expressions and subtle tone shifts offered by Billy Burke in any of his films, but especially the Twilight series as the lovable Charlie Swan, knows that the guy is just extraordinary.
So, to hear that he's making a very serious step into the world of music is surprising . . . and quite exciting!
Yesterday, Burke announced on his Twitter page that he is planning to release an album sometime this summer, and if he can get somewhere in the range of a million followers on his page, he'd be willing to give away "a few hundred thousand singles" and "shak[e] up the labels and suits."
Burke, who's been in the film industry for around twenty years, assured his fans that this was not going to be the typical actor-turned-mediocre-musician situation.
Said he, "I promise it won't be what's expected. I realize the bad taste it can leave in your mouth when an actor decides to take a musical ego trip.."
Burke is in the process, it seems, of preparing a website for interested fans to sign up at and keep tabs on details regarding his summer record release.

Newest 'Twilight' casting rumor: Robert Pattinson to portray Kurt Cobain?

Robert Pattinson - AP Photo
In the long-winded history of Robert Pattinson casting rumors, there have been any number of iconic posts thrown around the rumor mill.
From James Bond to Spiderman, he's been the subject of a great deal of future role speculation, and today a new, albeit more colorful, suggestion has hit the net.
According to Cinema Blend, the U.K.'s ever-so-unpredictable The Sun has begun what will inevitably be a long line of mixed storytelling on the subject of Robert Pattinson's potential next project.
The story, of course, comes with the astute caveat that the "information" contained therein should be "treat[ed] as wild speculation until there’s some sort of confirmation." Wise words.
The Sun's story is that Robert Pattinson has been badgering Courtney Love ("calling and emailing her non-stop" and causing her to be "a bit wound up by his manners" to quote The Sun precisely) for a spot in a biopic film about her ill-fated late husband and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Pretty out of character behavior being reported here.
"She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music," and Robert Pattinson "is her number one choice to play Kurt," The Sun reports. Another must-have for Love, continues the publication, is Scarlett Johansson to portray, well, her.
Cinema Blend takes a bite at the rumors, saying "[t]his is the first anyone’s even heard of Fincher making a Nirvana movie, let alone casting for it."
So, for now, this one should promptly go into the typical rumor bin until the Gossip Cop has a look at it.
UPDATE: Well, the Gossip Cop did indeed get ahold of this one, and it is busted. Check out their story here.

Two 'Twilight' stars reflect on 'Eclipse' footage

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
As the clock ticks on toward the release date of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, post-production progress on the film is being made in the ADR (automated dialogue replacement, a.k.a. "dubbing") department for at least a few of the Twilight castmembers.
Both Ashley Greene ("Alice Cullen") and Peter Facinelli ("Dr. Carlisle Cullen") have spoken up about the footage they've seen during their bits of ADR work, and they have both issued positive statements.
In an interview with MTV, Ashley Greene talked about the clips she got to see.
"[T]he werewolves just look incredible in this one," she reported. And "the whole fight sequence that I've seen really looks amazing."
Greene admitted that the wolves in The Twilight Saga: New Moon were not too shabby at all, but said that "we're always trying to outdo ourselves, and so they look really incredible."
"I definitely think there is one scene in particular between Jackson [Rathbone]'s character Jasper and my character Alice that I think everyone is going to like," she added. Wonder which one she means?
Peter Facinelli's ADR reflection came by way of his Twitter page.
"Did some ADR for #Eclipse today. The scenes I saw looked great. Very excited," he reported.

The UK Tabloid The Sun is reporting that Robert Pattinson will play Kurt Cobain in a biopic. Though a lot of media is picking up on this story, we are not finding it credible as The Sun notoriously has information such as this wrong. Only last week they were reporting that David Walliams from Little Britain was supposed to audition when no director has signed on the dotted line yet for casting to even begin.
