It seems that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse stars Booboo Stewart ("Seth Clearwater") and Kellan Lutz ("Emmett Cullen") are teaming up for more than just the red carpet of the DoSomething Awards.
According to Anime News Network, the two are set to work together on an animated DVD film called Guardians Of Luna. Stewart is set to portray "Jake Segerstrom," and the film will be a "dark-action" finished in the fall of 2011.
Booboo Stewart confirmed his involvement (as well as Kellan Lutz's) with the project on Twitter yesterday.
The film has already set up an official website and Facebook page (links thanks to ANN) as well as a Twitter page.
On the Facebook page, the plot of Guardians Of Luna is described as follows:
Carson Stone has come to Steelhenge looking for answers about his lineage, driven by a mysterious letter from his father. What he doesn't realize is that the city bears an ancient curse. With each full moon, the city is terrorized by a pack of vicious werewolves. City leaders plan to harness the ancient power which has summoned the werewolf menace, and Carson becomes embroiled in a battle to defend it, joining forces with three other werewolves.

Eclipse Takes Over Spain, Breaks Records

Even with Spain’s Wold Cup victory last week, The Twilight Saga:Eclipse still dominated the country in amazing volumes. It’s official. Eclipse has taken over Spain.
Eclipse sweeps Spanish box office!
Last weekend was without a doubt Eclipse’s weekend. The movie took over 73% of the nation’s total box office. Not even Spain’s World Cup victory was able to make the smallest dent over the impressive figures of the third installment of The Twilight Saga, numbers that speak for themselves: over 1.34 million viewers and more than € 8,500,000 ($10,958,788.01 dollars in one weekend) were raised at the box office, which have made Eclipse the most successful and most watched film of 2010 in its first five days in theaters. The amazing commercial success of Eclipse confirms once again the loyal support from all the followers of the Twilight saga that keep enjoying the dangerous love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob.

Breaking Dawn Producer Talks Plans for Birth Scene

Producer of the Twilight films, Wyck Godfrey has a huge job on his hands:Breaking Dawn.  If you thought reading and or understanding the largest book of the saga was difficult, can you imagine being involved in making a movie for a story of this caliber? Whether its sex scenes, Isle Esme, or the 3-D debate Wyck assures us that they are listening to us the fans. Here’s what the producer had to say. Beware, spoiler alert!
Twilight Saga producer Wyck Godfrey has revealed how the filmmakers are considering handling Breaking Dawn‘s graphic birth scene, and why 3-D is still an option for the final installment of the franchise.
My wife’s an OB-GYN so we should bring her on set to make sure that if Edward is going to do an oral Cesarean, he really needs to make the proper incision with his teeth.” Then, he shared the anti-gore rational that, I have to admit, makes perfect sense:“I think the one thing that we’ve done that we’ve really done in all the films is keep them very subjective and keep them from Bella’s point of view. So the conversations we’ve had with Bill, is that we’ll try to do something similar here; you’re with Bella’s perspective and her point of view of what’s taking place in the rush around her, as she’s in intense pain. Not so focused, objectively, on her body and his body and that. So I think it’ll be something like that, in terms of trying to make the audience experience and feel the confusion, almost, of what’s happening to her.”
When rumors first broke in February that producers were considering going 3-D for Breaking Dawn, 67 percent of readers responding to a PopWatch poll didn’t like the idea. But Godfrey makes a reasonable case for that as well:
“We have considered it, and everything’s being discussed, but I know that part of a way to differentiate the two movies would be to have one be in 2-D, and when she becomes a vampire we move into 3-D. But we haven’t really gotten far enough to decide what we’re going to do. I’m of two minds of it, frankly, and I think everyone is; I don’t want to chase the format if it’s not organic and appropriate. If we think it is, we will.”
I personally don’t think 3-D is wise. But that’s why I’m not in the movie business. Maybe it will come out fantastic, but I’ll pass on a 3-D Breaking Dawn. Check out the full story here.

Billy Interview

HitFix has an interview with Billy Burke.
He talks about his new movie, Angry.
Check it all out here.
Here is an excerpt:
Q: Your get up is very rock and roll.
Burke: You think? Well, that’s what we were mildly going for. A little cross between Jim Jones, Jim Morrison, and maybe a little bit of Tony Robbins. (laughs)
Q: Is that something that drew you to the part?
Burke: Yeah. I immediately liked just the unreasonable flamboyant attitude that this guy had. So, yeah.
Q: The obvious and immediate thing that all of us nerds are thinking right away is wondering whether or not this is a little bit cathartic after having played the dad in ‘Twilight.’
Burke: It is, indeed. I started my career actually, maybe the first 10, 11 years, playing the bad boyfriend with the gun. And I got ill with that and moved on, for some reason, to playing cops all the time. And so this is quite a nice and refreshing departure from all that. I get to, yeah, let loose a little bit, do some stuff that I wouldn’t normally do; that nobody would normally do, I suppose. [laughs]

Christian Serratos Interview

The Huffington Post has an interview with Christian Serratos.
Check it all out here.
Here is an excerpt:
Q: Do you feel you learned anything from the more experienced actors on Twilight?
CS: Peter [Facinelli] who plays the dad, Dr. Carlisle — he’s pretty fatherly on set. But we all learn from each other.

Q: Do you crack each other up on the set?

CS: Yes. They’re not specifically planned, we just mess with each other in general. I’m usually picked on the most. I’m not kidding. I’m an easy target. They like to mess with me.

Q: What did you do to immerse yourself in the whole vampire universe?

CS: What was really cool about this particular project is that we didn’t have to. I mean, we did and we could, but we had the book.

Eclipse Officially Hits the Quarter of a Billion Dollars Mark!

It’s official. The Twilight Saga:Eclipse has grossed a quarter of a billion dollars, domestic and closing in at half a billion dollars worldwide. Twilight Saga author, Stephenie Meyer’s vision continues to hold its own after its 3rd week at the box office.
Final box office estimates are in for Friday, July 16. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse took in $4.5M from 4,001 domestic locations for a per theater average of $1,125. This represents a 30.8% increase from Thursday and a 59.3% decrease from last Friday. Eclipse now has a cumulative domestic total of $255.871M after 17 days in release.
For those comparing the films in The Twilight Saga, it should be noted that Eclipse is once again ahead of New Moon in cumulative domestic totals over time. At this point in its release history (after 17 days) New Moon had taken in $255,363,052. Eclipse is now at $255.871M. Both films hit the $250M mark on the 16th day.
Keeping track of records, the film with the least number of days to reach $250M was The Dark Knight, which hit $261,847,503 after eight days. New Moon is in 13th place, having taken 16 days to reach $251,530,186. Eclipse lands just behind it in 14th place, taking 16 days to reach $251,371,417. This puts the film ahead of Shrek the Third, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and Iron Man 2, which all took 17 days to hit $250M.
So far, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has set all-time box office records for Opening Wednesdays, Single Day Wednesday Gross (non-adjusted), and Single Day Wednesday Gross (adjusted for inflation). It is in second place for Opening Day Gross, Single Day Gross, and Non-Opening Thursday Gross. Release records include Widest Releases, Widest Independent Releases, Widest Opening Independent Releases, Widest PG-13 Rated Openings, and Widest PG-13 Rated Releases.
There’s been quite a bit of discussion online regarding the film’s box office success. In particular, I wonder about the fairness of comparing the Twilight films against each other. The validity of judging Eclipse vs. New Moon is questionable given their strikingly different release schedules. As I’ve been saying since it opened, the idea was not to compete against or beat New Moon’s early numbers. That may be a goal of some people but the idea is to make money, and maybe set some records in the process.
First, there is no way that a “weekend” that begins on a Wednesday can be compared to a “normal” 3-day weekend (when New Moon opened). At that point New Moon had been in theaters 10 days while Eclipse had been out for 12 days. So any comparison between the two based on how many “weekends” it’s been out simply isn’t valid. Next, look at the time of year the two films were released. New Moon came out during the Thanksgiving-Christmas holiday season. It’s a big time of year for Hollywood but still doesn’t compare to summer, when they put out their “tentpole” films — the potential blockbusters that will keep the studios in the black for another year. The competition is much more fierce beginning Memorial Day weekend through the 4th of July. It’s simply a different marketplace.

Rob & Kristen Interviews With FilmStarts-Germany

Stephenie Meyer On Volvos, Angryward, And 'BD'

Twifans has posted more of what they learned during last month's Twilight fansite junket with Stephenie Meyer .

In their recent write-up, Twifans shares Stephenie's thoughts on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse including angry Robward, Edward's volvo and what "producer" title for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn means for Stephenie.

Stephenie on Angryward

Kim: Okay, we have a question about the Angry Edward, and how hot he is. When he gets angry, he pulls up, and he’s like…ya know……if you ever touch her against her will again. All the fans just love it. We all love it and everybody went crazy. The members, our members, we all wanna know about angry Edward.

Alison: Why do you think the fandom thinks Angry Edward is SO hot?

SM: Ya know it’s funny about this scene, and Meghan’s giving me the eye. That’s the one I walked out on, on the dailies because in my head that scene was so much different. In the movie Edward is quite separate motivation-ally from the book Edward. At this point in the film in the story for me he’s gotten past this. Like he’s realized “I can’t act like a teenage boy anymore. I have to give her space. I have to be the mature one here.” And in that scene in the book, he has, icy calm control. He is very gentle. He is very soft spoken. He is very mature. So when I see him….and plus ya know, the movies are unable to bring to life some of the elements in the mythology. If Edward had, in anger, grabbed Jacob by the shoulder, his arm would have come off. And the fact that Taylor is uninjured, and that he just kind of sits there…..bothered me. So I'm like…wait! If we are gonna go for it, tear his arm off. Ya know. And it’s hard for them, because blood puts you over the limit and stuff, and they would not tear off Jacob’s arm. I’m like….if we want angry Edward, I wanna see some blood. They had already filmed that day, so we couldn’t redo it but, people have responded really well to it.

Kim: That is the thing because it is different than the book.

Alison: He's as close to a vampire as we’ve seen him, because he was so restrained.

SM: And restraint is pretty much his middle name. And we don’t have the scene early in the book, where she comes back from La Push, and he’s like “are you trying to make me insane?” He really lost it. We don’t have that evolution where he goes overboard. We have a little bit, the battery disabling. Which is really over the line, and then he’s supposed to learn and he’s supposed to stop. By that point, we’re so far in, it’s like….”why is he still acting like this?” But okay, it is hot…I’ll give you that.

Kim: It turned out well considering it was a deviation from the book, and anyway……we liked it.

Stephenie on the movie Volvo VS book Volvo

Kim: Kind of have a little silly question. It’s not super silly. What about the movie Volvo? It’s not like the book Volvo.

Alison: We had to go there.

Kim: And we really have to go there because, ya know, I’m over it now, but….

(laughs)

Kim: What about that?

SM: Ya know, the reason Edward drives a Volvo is to be inconspicuous and because ya know, people see a Volvo and think you buy them for safety. It’s kind of a joke. It’s the way to blend in, because the last thing in the world he needs is a safe car. And so when I was doing the cars. My brothers are car freaks ~~ says to Alison “you know”~~(http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight_cullencars.html) And I asked them, I said “okay, If you were going to drive a Volvo but you were a care enthusiast” and they were like “ugh” and I’m like “no, what are you gonna drive?” And they were like “well, there’s the S60R. Very limited, and not a lot of people get it. It looks like it’s built for racing” So I’m like “Oh, that’s perfect” but they don’t make them anymore, so that was kind of a problem.

Alison: But they don’t make Bella’s truck anymore either. We could find that

SM: Bella’s truck is a 67’ in the movie and a 53’ in real life. They look nothing the same. Which kills me, because I love the old body style. In the sixties, they got very square. In the fifties, it was all round and it was really of cute. That was actually, that one was harder than the Volvo. But I am very car attached, so yeah……I had. I mean, I didn’t have back in the day….I didn’t really have a lot, I didn’t have a lot to do with Twilight (the movie). They were great about telling me what was going on, but I wasn’t part of the conversation. So with the cars, it was already a done deal. They already had the three sets of them, and I kinda went “ohhh”

Alison: It’s not silver. It’s the mom-mobile Kim & Alison: now

Alison: It's not a sexy vampire car *whining*

SM: Actually. It’s kind of a fun car. They went with the darker gray. They tried a different shade. I’m interested to see if it evolves again. I’m not sure if it will.

Kim: But there are plenty of them driving around

Alison: They are everywhere here

SM: I wouldn't budge on the Porsche. The right Porsche in the right color.

Alison: Well we just had to ask you because your opinion was really the only one that matters. To the fans.

SM: If I were going to do it. If I were going to raise a bunch of money. The cars would be spot on. That’s how it would go.

Stephenie on her role as producer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Alison: What made you decide to put the producer hat on for Breaking Dawn? And what do you think you’ll bring to that last movie?

SM: I don’t think it’s gonna change that much. I do feel like, I mean Breaking Dawn is tricky. It’s real tricky. Now, I feel like we have more of a handle on it. Because the script and with Bill Condon. I am more calm, but originally, I was very much on the fence. Maybe we shouldn’t make this into a movie, ya know. Some things can’t be made into a movie and come across exactly the right way. So it was a big struggle for me to go forward. I knew it would disappoint a lot of people, and that was really one of the main instances, that people would be like “What?” I didn’t want to disappoint people. So I was concerned. And still my plan was and still is, to be there every day. And so as the producer, can do that. So it’s really a lot about being….in the room. And it’s going to be a lot of upheaval in my life, but I felt like it was important. And then also, it’s the last one. So I kinda feel like, I’m going to commit to this for this year, I’ll get it done, and then I won’t do that again.

(laughs)

SM: And then also. I get to be more involved with it.

Jodi: I have this recorded

SM: Ya know, I think we will have a little more of the same music, which will be a big deal. Instead of hearing about the decisions afterward. We will be there when they are being made. That’s gonna help. With Eclipse, I was pretty much, right on the line with producing. I was very much involved with the script and a lot of the choices. So it’s not a huge difference, but it’ll be really, an interesting experience.

Kim: Well we breathed a sigh of relief when we heard you were producing.

SM: I don't know if those sighs are a little bit premature. I’m not sure that there will be that much more that I can do. um…..but, I keep fighting. I can’t quite make myself give up, so.

Alison: We do appreciate it.

SM: They can’t be exactly like the book. So it’s about having those key things that can make it, have that feel of the book. They have really done a really great job and not all of it I get right away, because for me it’s like “no, keep it closer to the story”. Then I have to say. “Okay, this is a good alternate” but it has it’s merits…..like angry Edward. It wasn’t in the book, and yet….that has a lot of value for you. There are things that they’re able to do that I can’t do. It’s a nice little compliment. And like Taylor and the love for Jacob. That’s a good thing. A good thing

Alison: Yeah!
