Q: What was your favorite scene to shoot?
Mike: My favorite scene by far was the kind of three way date that happened between Mike and Bella and Jacob. That horribly awkward moment when Mike asks Bella out to the movies and she tries to turn it into a group thing and then it ends up being the worst case scenario which is that that three way thing. You know, I’m sure it was certainly not a lot of fun for Mike to go through. I mean, I can relate, as I’m sure a lot of us can, but it was a lot of fun to do.
Anna: And I would have to say that there is a scene where Jessica and Bella go to the movies. That was fun because Jessica really likes to talk about herself and Bella is really depressed. She’s not saying much. We were just kind of trying to do it all in one take, and Chris told me to just keep talking until we came to a natural stop. So I stopped and just kind of monologued as flighty, silly Jessica which was a blast.

How you go about something like New Moon, which features original songs from so many artists who don’t often appear in projects this high-profile?
The work starts as soon as the script is finished and distributed. Chris Weitz, the director, had a very specific point of view about how he wanted the music to feel. There’s a lot of separation and longing and loss in the movie; the bands and lyrics and sound and arrangements had to reflect that. Some folks, like Lykke Li, the Killers, Grizzly Bear, OK Go, and Anya Marina all came into the cutting room and sat with Chris to watch the movie and talk about their contributions. Other tracks were submitted with the movie in mind. I think it’s very difficult to succeed without any context.

LimeLife: Okay Julia Jones, if we could ask you anything about one of your co-stars, it would be this: Does Robert Pattinson speak with an American or a British accent between takes?
Julia Jones: (laughs) Yes, Rob is British, he has a British accent, and he speaks like that when he’s not acting! His [American] accent is so good, actually. Sometimes hearing him speak in his normal British accent, I get a little thrown off, because his American accent is just perfect.

CS: We had a couple of girls specifically fly in and they got rooms at our hotel and they would wait there. Girls would also camp out right below our hotel balconies. It was really funny because I don’t think they expected to make it that far. Once they got there, they just stood there with these wide eyes. J-14: Your background is in martial arts, just like Taylor Lautner — how do your skills compare?
Alex Meraz: I’m better. (Laughs) No, you know Taylor, you’ve gotta look at the difference. Taylor is 17, I’m 24. I’ve been doing it a lot longer. And as of recently, I’ve really become more of an actor now. This is what I’m heavily relying on in terms of survival and what I’m really into now. But a couple of months ago, I was still training and considering doing mixed martial arts like cage fighting. So I’m without a doubt — without trying to be an ego maniac — better!

J-14: So if Jacob wasn’t a werewolf and Edward wasn’t a vampire, do you think Mike would have a better chance?
Mike: Yeah, I do — although ultimately, I don’t think a Mike-Bella relationship would have worked out particularly well because it’s one of those situations where one person is clearly more infatuated with the other person and it doesn’t quite go the other way around. Those situations don’t typically tend to work out, especially in high school. So I actually think Mike and Bella’s relationship is perfect the way it is, but it’s probably difficult for Mike to see that while he’s going after her.

J-14: What was it about the role of Jacob that drew you to him?
Taylor Lautner: I guess the fact that I’m a lot like him. When Jacob’s human, he’s really friendly and outgoing and talkative, but his other side — his werewolf side — he’s very fierce and grumpy… and that’s totally opposite of me. It’s fun to play somebody who’s just like me, but then it’s cool as an actor to challenge myself to play something totally opposite of me!

Taylor:Yeah and Jacob is both of that, so that’s pretty cool.

Tyson: It was great working with everyone. So I was watching the football and I didn’t realize that the shoe was flying through the air and it ended up smacking me in the face. I had to go back to the makeup trailer to get all the dirt off of my face and redo all my makeup.

In “Twilight” you play Eric Yorkie who was not written specifically as an Asian American character. Tell us about the role.
He’s supposed to be white but Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first film, went to the producers and studio and convinced them to hire me for the part. There’s never any mention of my character being Asian or any talk of his ethnicity.
Do you think that’s a good thing?
I think it’s great. It does matter but at the same time I have nothing against playing ethnic specific parts. It’s wonderful to get those opportunities. It’s needed and there definitely is a place for it.
But just the fact that “Twilight” is such a pop culture phenomenon made this a huge movie that a lot of people are seeing. I think it’s very important that people watch this movie and go “Hey, that guy goes to my high school.”
I mean why do we have to see this character as a certain type of person when it could be anybody. He could be Black, White, Mexican, Asian. I think high school is a good example of that. “Twilight” is reaching so many people and I think it’s a really good step in the right direction for diversity and opening up doors.

Tinsel Interview
The Twilight Examiner has an interview with Tinsel Korey. In the interview she talks the Twilight films and what she’s working on now.

Q: Definitely … So, how was filming for Eclipse?
A: It was different because the directors were very different. David Slade was really precise, like he’s a technical director … At least this is what I found. Chris Weitz, he focuses a lot on emotion I guess because he’s an actor himself. That was the difference between filming with the two of them, but it was great because I missed the boys. I missed Chaske and all of those, we all got along so well, it was great to just get back and see them. I think that’s the biggest story about being on the film.
Q:How is it when you guys get back together, I know you’re close, so how is it when you guys get back together for conventions? Is it kinda the same or different?
A: No, it’s exactly the same. I actually love the conventions, like the ones in Australia… the best thing about it was, first of all, getting to meet the Volturi team. We are just pranksters, so Chaske and I got to meet the Volturi guys, and then it was just like non-stop pranks. The one time Charlie [Bewley] was on stage and while he was doing an interview, Chris Heyerdahl comes between the curtains and started tickling him. And then Cameron Bright and I were on the side holding these little packets of Vegemite which is this Australian food that they all love. And we just start whipping packets of Vegemite at him on stage. We did have a lot of fun, I don’t know .. You know how like when you have really good friends that you don’t have to talk eachother for months and then you see them again and you just sort of pick up? That’s our relationship.
