Since then, Bryce Dallas Howard ("Victoria" in Eclipse) was apparently added to the cast, and, most recently, Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment acquired the distribution rights to the film.
According to The Wrap, "'It's rare to find a script that has you laughing and crying in equal measure or a cast and director as perfectly suited to get the tone of this unique and moving film as perfectly right,' Erik Feig, Summit's president of production, said in a statement."
It doesn't hurt, either, that the film has the critically acclaimed Kendrick in it as a great portion of the film community is watching where she goes from Up In The Air (after Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World releases, that is).
Filming for the project will reportedly begin in February in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This will be yet another example of the studio working with the cast on non-Twilight films (Robert Pattinson's Remember Me and Taylor Lautner's Cancun being two other examples).
