'Twilight' - Summit Ent.
The story of its inclusion in the film is rather cute, as the costume director had another piece for the scenes chosen but found that it was too matchy-matchy with Stewart's hair and, as The Hollywood Reporter explains, "made a dash to Nordstrom and picked something off the rack. 'Wendy saved the day!' remarked director Catherine Hardwicke."
Now the item might not only be iconic, but it could also be ancient history as Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment has filed suit against B.B. Dakota "for copyright and trademark infringement."
The alleged infringment relates to the company's product advertisements, it seems.
It's listed on the company's site as the "Jacket seen in Twilight" and says "Bella Swann wears this jacket in Twilight and scores the hottest vampire in high school, and so can you!"
Current asking price for the item is $70.00, and it comes in four colors.
Reports THR, "In the lawsuit, Summit seeks an injunction against further sale of the item, all profits earned from the jacket, and . . . it wants B.B. Dakota to "deliver to Summit for destruction all Bella Jackets."
