Twilight' film studio picks up Anna Kendrick's 'I'm With Cancer'

Anna Kendrick - AP Photo
A few weeks ago, it was announced that the now-Oscar-nominated Anna Kendrick ("Jessica Stanley" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) was added to the cast of the dramatic comedy I'm With Cancer (co-starring Seth Rogan and James McAvoy).
Since then, Bryce Dallas Howard ("Victoria" in Eclipse) was apparently added to the cast, and, most recently, Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment acquired the distribution rights to the film.
According to The Wrap, "'It's rare to find a script that has you laughing and crying in equal measure or a cast and director as perfectly suited to get the tone of this unique and moving film as perfectly right,' Erik Feig, Summit's president of production, said in a statement."
It doesn't hurt, either, that the film has the critically acclaimed Kendrick in it as a great portion of the film community is watching where she goes from Up In The Air (after Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World releases, that is).
Filming for the project will reportedly begin in February in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This will be yet another example of the studio working with the cast on non-Twilight films (Robert Pattinson's Remember Me and Taylor Lautner's Cancun being two other examples).

Jackson Rathbone's 'The Last Airbender' character immortalized in a doll

The Twilight saga isn't the only film franchise that'll be immortalizing Jackson Rathbone in doll form. Yes, his "Jasper Hale" from The Twilight Saga: New Moon was recently made into a collectible doll, but that's not all for Rathbone.
Just announced is a line of The Last Airbender dolls, dropping June 1st (about a month before the film's release) to local toy stores.
Jackson Rathbone's "Sokka" is one of those characters from the film added to the coming line for Airbender dolls.
According to MTV, the speaker in this video is a representative from Nickelodeon studios (the same company that presented the original cartoon television series upon which the film is based) who said, "We worked very closely with M. Night, the rest of the Paramount team and our in-house design team, along with our partner Spin-Master, to come up with the right assortment, the right size for these action figures and make sure we we had representation of all the nations within the 'Airbender' series."
Bigger pictures of the doll (and the others in the series) are available at MTV.

Note also that Jackson Rathbone's character made a very brief appearance (at the 0:06 spot) in the film's Superbowl spot this weekend. Here's the video for that.

Peter Facinelli Presents New ‘Twilight’ Charity ‘Twihards4Charity’

Twilight Examiner has an exclusive on Peter Facinelli (aka Dr. Carlisle Cullen) supporting a new Twilight Charity with his friend Rob DeFranco and 211Me  called Twihards4Charity.
So, what Rob DeFranco and 211me have decided to do, with the help and support of Twilight star Peter Facinelli, is create a place where Twilight fans can go to share in the joy of giving.
“What Rob is trying to do and what I support is this website and uniting the Twihards for a common goal,” says Peter Facinelli. “The one thing that binds Twilight fans is the franchise and the books, and I think that if we band together and have those Twihards focus their energy on things other than the books, I think great things can happen because they’re so dedicated and so passionate.”
The website is www.Twihards4Charity.com, and it has just launched this weekend.
The official mission of the new campaign is as follows:
Twihards4Charity is a new social campaign that helps Twilight fans from all over the world make a difference by uniting them with a common goal – to give to those in need through charities and special causes. 211me has brought in sponsors, brands and support from celebrity favorites like Peter Facinelli to provide TwiHards with Twilight-themed products they love. In return, a portion of the proceeds from every sale will go to a designated cause or charity.
As the charity’s first offer, Twihards4Charity “brings you a Valentine’s Day bouquet you can’t pass up. Whether it’s for your sweetheart, your best friend, or a fellow Twihard, this is a perfect gift to say ‘Happy Valentine’s Day.’” The details of the Valentine’s Day offer from Twihards4Charity are as follows: for $49.95, the bouquet contains 12 long-stemmed red roses from 1800Flowers, as well as a Twilight giftcard and  poster from Hallmark. For every bouquet sold, five dollars of the proceeds will go to Haiti. Details on ordering this bouquet are available the Twihards4Charity website.
“You know, I’m going to continue doing my charity stuff, but this website is more about uniting the Twihards, and starting with Haiti. So, maybe it is one of those things where we put a vote out [to see what fans want to support next],” he says. This was also figured into the original plan for the page too, he reveals. “When I talked to Rob, I said ‘I don’t want this to be trying to force people to, you know, do our charities, I want them to be able to pool together for a common cause.’ But I think everyone would recognize that right now Haiti needs help, so I thought well we’ll start with Haiti and go from there.”
Thank you Peter Facinelli!  He is such a wonderful man.  Learn more at Twihards4Charity!  To order the Twilight Valentine’s Day Bundle go to 1800Flowers.

‘Nurse Jackie’ Stills Featuring Peter Facinelli

New stills from Nurse Jackie featuring Eclipse Vampire Daddy Peter Facinelli (aka Carlisle Cullen).
Peter plays Dr.Cooper, a very nice, and interesting doctor. Who just happens to have sexual tourettes.  Dr.Cooper is absolutely hilarious and in my opinion completely makes that show worth watching!

Anna Kendrick Talks About Her And Jessica’s Future After ‘Eclipse’

“Dr. Cullen’s like this foster dad slash match maker“…Isn’t that like the best line ever?  Twilight Saga star Anna Kendrick aka Jessica Stanley, talks with HollywoodCrush about the future of Jessica Stanley post Eclipse.
With so much buzz surrounding her now, it’s hard not to see Anna feeling a little unloved by the “Twilight” crowd. Not only did they say she was the “Twilight” actor least likely to win an Oscar (choosing Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson over her, despite her Oscar buzz and now nomination), but her character Jessica Stanley doesn’t have much shelf life beyond the third film, “Eclipse.”
“I honestly feel like Jessica is one of those characters that if she wasn’t in the movie, nobody would miss her,” she said. “At the same time, I feel a certain affection for the films so if they ask me, I would love to. I don’t have my fingers crossed either way.”
Aww Anna, don’t feel that way.  Don’t forget it was in the Forks high school lunchroom, that Anna introduced us to our favorite family.  Us Twihards love you regardless, in the books Jessica was jealous & awful but we love you Anna!

‘Valentine’s Day’ Director Garry Marshall Reveals First Kiss Details About ‘Taylor Squared’

Valentine’s Day director Garry Marshall gave details to E!Online correspondent Marc Malkin about Valentine’s Day co-stars Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift. What details did he give? It had to do with the first scene they shot -
“I always start with the kissing scenes,” director Garry Marshall told me at last night’s Hollywood premiere of the star-studded romantic comedy. “The first thing they did was kiss.”
So how did it go?
“The first three were nice,” Marshall said. “By the fourth I think they started going together. I don’t know what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating.”
Marshall also told E! that he would like to work with Taylor Lautner again, and that he would let him do things no other director would -
But Marshall promises he’ll let the Twilight star do things no other director will allow. “That Taylor can take a grape, throw it up in the air, do a flip and then catch it in his mouth,” Marshall joked. “Nobody will let him do that in a movie—I’m gonna let him!”

'Twilight' and 'Harry Potter' cast connections strengthened through 'The Apparition'

Ashley Greene - AP Photo
The six degrees between the Twilight and Harry Potter series' casts have just gotten a little bit shorter.
Ever since the Twilight franchise began with Robert Pattinson as "Edward Cullen," that Harry Potter cast overlap was made present. Pattinson, you well know, appeared in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (and briefly in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix) before becoming a part of the Twilight saga. So at the Twilight film series' inception, it was akin to the Harry Potter cast via this history.
Then, last year, it was announced that Jamie Campbell Bower (who portrayed "Caius" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon) was joining the cast for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II as "Gellert Grendelwald." That made for the second Twilight-Harry Potter cast connection.
Now, a third has presented itself, albeit in a slightly different form than the others.
You already know that Ashley Greene has just begun filming The Apparition, a project she's headlining and has been very openly excited about. Just recently, it was announced that Harry Potter long-timer Tom Felton (who portrays "Draco Malfoy" in the Harry Potter film series) has joined the cast for The Apprarition. So, yet again, a Twilight star and a Harry Potter star will be co-stars. Nice, huh?
Oddly enough, Felton happened to be one of those who was favored by many fans to receive the part in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse of "Riley" (a part later given to Xavier Samuel, of course), and he was featured in at least one fanmade poster for the film.

'Dark Moon,' a new 'Twilight' parody revealed

Brandon T. Jackson and Eve in 'Dark Moon'
The website "Funny or Die" is responsible for quite a few new Twilight series parodies, and today's is just another example of that.
In the past, a few of their projects haven't received mention here because of their . . . well . . . unorthodox approach to the series.
In this case, though, the site has brought forth a rather hilarious version of Twilight entitled "Dark Moon."
The video depicts a specific few moments in the relationship between "Eddie" and "Becca," and it shows that Eddie's main affliction - though he is a vampire - is his super-sensitivity. It's pretty original in that they are using the same basic events in the film/book but twisting the words and context of them to fit the given characteristics of the new leading man.
What do you think about it?

Twilight To Be Taught In Cambridge Literature Class

According to Geekosystem.com, Cambridge University will include Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight book series in their works of literature.
Soon, students at Cambridge University will be getting a new supplement to their educations: books from Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series.
According to BBC News, a newly-opened Cambridge center for the study of children’s literature (they call it a “centre,” naturally) will cover, among other things, Twilight, the Harry Potter series, and video games as works of literature.
In an interview, the soon-to-be director of the center/centre dismissed suggestions that Twilight and other contemporary series are “trash,” and even said that academics had something to learn about the ethical development of young people from children’s series and video games:
BBC News:
Professor Maria Nikolajeva, who will be the centre’s first director, said it was important to get an understanding of what was influencing young people.
She said: “It’s easy to say that these things are just kids’ fashions or that they’re trash, but I don’t believe that’s good enough.
“If what we regard as trash is popular with young people, we need to know why and whether, as researchers and teachers, we can offer them something that addresses the same needs but also deals with these themes in a critical and ethical way.”
She added many trainee teachers did not understand the significance of the latest children’s books or films when they went into the classroom.
“Studying this can help us deal with questions which are important not only for the children themselves, but for adults as well,” she added.
