The Twilight Saga: New Moon' fans make 'Mall Cops'

AP Photo
Fans of The Twilight Saga: New Moon made their way onto an episode of Mall Cops: Mall Of America that debuted yesterday.
Entitled "Twilight," the episode description was "It's the premiere of Twilight: New Moon the cops are trying to keep the peace with so many people."
Several readers sent in accounts of seeing the episode, and one source recapped it by saying that about "2,000 fans showed up for a midnight screening" with one suffering a collapse.

Nordstrom's 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' collection releases today, cast appearances announced

AP Photo
Nordstrom's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse collection came online for pre-ordering a few weeks ago, but their in-store stock has just been released today, and, according to a recent press release, cast appearances are scheduled along with other promotional activities.
You'll have to read the press release for full details, but to sum it up, Nordstrom is offering advance ticket (for Eclipse as well as a VIP screening of New Moon) possibilities for certain venues as well as their yearly "Twilight Takeover" parties for the beauty products section.
The planned cast appearances are to take place on June 25th, 26th, and 27th at a handful of stores, and fans will have to sign up (here) for photo ops with the cast members present.
No actors are yet named for these events, but the literature available states that each will pose with two hundred fans at their various venues of appearance.
So, if you're one of those who can be present in these locations on the dates listed, you might want to go through the necessary steps for registration as early as possible.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' fan event in Italy to be live-streamed

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
The fan event scheduled for Rome, Italy on June 17th (with Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner) to ring in the release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be live-streamed, according to one source (translation here).
During the event, ten minutes of the film are expected to be debuted, and the broadcast will take place on ComingSoon.it, Coming Soon Television's website.
No official indication as to whether the Eclipse clip shown at the event will be live-streamed or not, but last year's New Moon event led to leakage of the "Break Up" sequence, much to Chris Weitz's dismay (he said that he was heartbroken when that got out on the New Moon DVD commentary). That is, of course, not to promote leaks but instead to suggest that perhaps to prevent the recurrence of that incident, the clip will just be live-streamed with the rest of the event. We'll have to wait and see.

Local Arizona high school hopes 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' can help save school band

At least one local Arizona high school is hoping that a fundraising screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse might help save their band.
Kim Clarkson, an administrator for Twifans.com, reports that "deep[] budget cuts have affected education & the preforming arts especially" at Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona.
To help raise money for the Toro Band, fundraisers are hosting a midnight screening of Eclipse at AMC Mesa Grand with all proceeds going to the band.
A local news report on the subject adds that "this money is just for neccessities, like mending threadbare uniforms, pounding dents out of used Sousaphones, recycling used saxophone reeds, and buying sheet music for the latest arrangement of 'Louie, Louie.'"
Tickets are $15.00, and prizes (including autographs from Peter Facinelli and Kiowa Gordon and other Eclipse merchandise) will be given through a drawing that night.
You can find out more information by e-mailing the fundraisers for this event.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' actors teaming with United Global Shift, to appear at event

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
As you probably recall, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Chaske Spencer ("Sam Uley") has been working closely with United Global Shift for some time now, helping to raise the organization's message of causing a "shift from survival and scarcity to possibility, partnership and peace."
Ever since, his fellow Twilight series castmates have wholeheartedly jumped on board with the group, and many of them will be joining together for the organization's campaign event.
According to a recent press release, Chaske Spencer will be hosting an event on June 14th in Los Angeles, California, and Twilight actors Julia Jones, Tinsel Korey, Gil Birmingham, and Alex Meraz will all attend.
The event's focus will be "to raise awareness and support to the snowstorm disaster victims from South Dakota’s Lakota Sioux tribe" as a part of the group's "year long campaign that uses the Cheyenne River Sioux Water Infrastructure project as a launching pad to empowering celebrities to use their platform to create sustainable change in their community and around the world."

Twilight' star Ashley Greene getting a new gig as cosmetic spokesmodel

It seems that Ashley Greene is about to add one more career accomplishment to her resume: cosmetic spokesmodel.
As reported by Hollywoodlife and Stylelist, the Twilight actress will be replacing The Hills star Lauren Conrad as spokesmodel for Avon cosmetics's Mark line.
The sources quoted Greene to say, "Mark has been on my radar not only because of their great fashion and beauty products, but because the brand inspires young women to feel beautiful inside and out. Through this partnership, I'm looking forward to empowering young women to feel confident, pursue their dreams and make their mark in the world, just like I'm making mine."

Stephenie Meyer's 'Bree Tanner' comes out tomorrow, sneak peek on the way, malware warning issued

'Bree Tanner' by Stephenie Meyer - Hachette Books
Stephenie Meyer's newest Twilight series book, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella, is due in stores tomorrow (and online on June 7th at BreeTanner.com), and an exclusive new clip of the book is due today.
More details on the coming section can be found here, and you can also find out more details on Borders' signed bookplate giveaway promotion here.
Also, you might want to check out this cute story about how the U.K. is ringing in the release of this book.
In the meantime, a malware warning has been issued in relation to this book release by PC Tools.
"As the much anticipated novella hits, fans need to be aware of the harmful malware and viruses found on suspicious e-book download sites and 'poisoned pdfs.' The growth of e-books usage has spawned increased cybercriminal activities from computers to mobile devices and e-readers," a representative from PC Tools warns. "PC Tools predicts that once the novella is available, cybercriminals will distribute it through Twilight fan sites and searches as a “Poisoned PDF.” They will exploit the online searches to find ways to infect computers with malware and new threats. Eager fans searching for early sneak peeks will also be targeted. Cybercriminals are leveraging the viral nature of PDFs by inserting malware into a PDF’s Java Script. As Java Scripting makes PDF documents more engaging, it provides cybercriminals access into hacking your computer. Symantec recently reported that Poison PDF attacks skyrocketed in 2009 to represent 49 percent of web-based attacks. Security software companies, like PC Tools, combat the malware and threats consumers face each day. Statistics show that there are 30 – 50k new threats each day. Consumers need to run the latest security software to protect their computers and mobile devices."
So beware and just use the legitimate tools provided by BreeTanner.com.

Muse doesn't care if being on 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' soundtrack is 'cool'

A couple of days ago, the news came out that Vampire Weekend was suffering a bit of Twitter-based backlash from their fans for being a part of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's soundtrack.
Then, last night on The Colbert Report, the band merrily referred to the series (and star Robert Pattinson).
Commenters on the prior article suggested that the negativity being sent Vampire Weekend's way was out of line and a result, to quote one contributor, of simply "spread[ing] negativity."
Well, it seems that Muse has a little something to say about the issue from their end as well.
Responding to an inquiry about their involvement in the Twilight series soundtracks (having contributed songs to Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and, most recently, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Muse's Matthew Bellamy told The Daily Record, "Of course it doesn't matter we have gained fans because of Twilight and that might seem to be uncool. That doesn't bother me at all. As a band you are represented everywhere. We also have a gig for Guitar Hero, of all things . . . It's great to be involved and it's so much fun. I like the movies a lot. They're really good and we hope to continue with this and do another song."

Canadian fans getting a 'Twilight,' 'New Moon,' and 'Eclipse' triple feature as well

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
In the United States, AMC is the film theater company hosting a Twilight series triple feature opportunity (that is, having a one-night-only show of Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) called the "Twilight Saga Experience" on June 29th.
It seems that for Canada, it'll be Cineplex Entertainment that brings forth the goods, as they have just announced their plans for a triple feature showing on the same night.
Venues participating in the promotion include theaters from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec.
Tickets are $19.99 for the event, and the show would progress with Twilight starting at 7:00 p.m., New Moon at 9:30, and Eclipse, of course, at 12:01 a.m. on June 30th.
To find out more, including specific participating locations within the above-listed venues, see here.

Twilight' series publisher says Stephenie Meyer 'does not have plans to return to the saga'

Stephenie Meyer - AP Photo
The release of Stephenie Meyer's fifth Twilight series book, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella, is just a few short hours away.
When the news of the Bree Tanner novella came out, Stephenie Meyer blogged about it on her site, mentioning that it was "too long to fit into the Guide" and that this was why it was ultimately deemed worthy of independent publication.
Of course, that insinuated Meyer would be releasing The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide at some point soon as well, but still no official release date or information is available on that project.
Still, the lingering hope with many Twilight fans is that not only will the Guide be released, but she'll also continue working on the left-behind project which shall not be named.
A recent interview with Little, Brown Books publisher Megan Tingley, however, indicates once again that this is an unlikely case.
"At this point Stephenie does not have plans to return to the saga," she said.
As the manuscript for this project is presumed still incomplete, this could mean that the project will never see (finished) the light of day.

For those of you who are from the U.K., here's a Twilight contest you might want to hear about.
MTV UK is hosting a contest for fans to win a private screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (with forty friends as guests) as well as copies of the complete official soundtrack for the film!
Find out more details on how to enter here.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' Volvo 'Lost in Forks' contest announced

Volvo is stepping up again after their successful "What Drives Edward" contest for The Twilight Saga: New Moon (300,000 entrants!) to bring forth their "Lost in Forks" sweepstakes for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Once again, the company is using an interactive gaming challenge to offer fans the chance to win Edward Cullen's Eclipse XC60.
They're also hosting an Eclipse premiere sweepstakes at their website (see here), and the gaming session for the Eclipse vehicle giveaway begins on June 22nd.
Here's a clever quote from a Volvo CEO about it: "Edward and Volvo are a great match because Edward is a protector, yet at the same time, he's a fan of great style and speed."
Here's the "Lost in Forks" game's objective, according to a recent press release: "The objective of the game is to reach the Cullen's house in the shortest number of 'forks in the road.' Everyone who reaches the Cullen's in the shortest number of forks will be invited back for the finalist round, which will start July 13 and end July 15."

Nikki Reed Talks To MTV About Breaking Dawn Casting Rumors!

New Interview — Tyson Houseman Talks Breaking Dawn!

Breaking Dawn wolf Tyson Houseman (aka Quil) was recently interviewed by MovieWeb.com as to whether or not he’ll return for Breaking Dawn and when filming is set to begin -
We recently had a chance to speak with Tyson Houseman, who’s character has a pivotal role in the fourth book, to find out if he has been contacted yet about returning for the fourth film? “I haven’t heard anything from Summit yet about Breaking Dawn but the character is in the book so I’m assuming I’ll return,” replied Houseman. We followed up by asking if the actor has had a chance to meet with Condon yet to discuss his role? “No, I haven’t really heard anything about that one,” he confessed.
Houseman also confirmed that he has not yet received a script for the upcoming film. We continued pressing the young actor by asking him if he knew when filming might begin on Breaking Dawn? “I have no idea actually. They haven’t really talked to me about that,” Houseman continued. “I’m assuming … well I think it would make sense to do it sometime in the next six months, like maybe in the fall or something like that but who knows?” Finally we asked him if he was excited to reprise his role in the fourth film and if he was looking forward to finally acting on screen some of the cool stuff that his character gets to do in that book? “I am. I’ll be really glad to see everyone else,” he replied. “All the other actors too, we’re all really good friends and yeah, I’m excited for all the stuff I’m going to get to do.”

Eclipse director David Slade’s letter to Twilight fans

Eclipse director David Slade has written a lovely letter to Twilight Saga fans everywhere:

"Dear fans of The Twilight Saga,
I want to congratulate you for reaching over 6 million fans on The Twilight Saga Facebook page.
It’s hard to fathom that it was just over one year ago that I started constructing this third and epic adventure which takes place in the town of Forks.
I want to share a story about one of our days of shooting with you.
It was a Friday night and the rain was relentless. We were at La Push to shoot the tribe’s histories, a great speech by Billy Black. We had Taylor and Kristen and the whole wolf pack around a campfire as the heavens let loose on us.
Gil Birmingham was in fine form as the rain hammered down on us all, we adjusted our lights so that the rain vanished into the black of night.
We constructed a tent over the scene to keep everyone dry as we worked, every 15 minutes or so we would have to tip it to stop the collecting rain from splitting the fabric.
For some reason still unknown, around 3am, the wolf pack stood exactly in the way of several gallons of rainwater as it was being cleared. Being the wolf pack, they just laughed it off as they stood there soaked to the bone.
We worked through the mud and the rain all night, until we had the scene perfected.
As we left, dawn was now cracking and in the dim light I passed a small army of fans who had braved the weather for the entire night, still standing there, holding drenched flowers and waiting to get a glimpse of our actors.
So, to those of you who stood behind our security, who waited in line at theatres overnight, to those of you who just love these stories, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is a love letter to you.
Each day I felt the weight of your favourite scenes, your favourite lines, your dreams and your imagination.
It has been an unforgettable journey, and now as I finalise the last prints to ready the film for your local theaters, I cannot wait for you to see it.
Sincerest Regards,
DAVID SLADE"

Ashley Greene to be the New Face for Avon’s Mark Line

Lauren Conrad has been the face for Avon’s Mark line for many years. Now that Conrad’s contract is nearing its expiration date, a new face is emerging and it is our very own Twilight Saga psychic Ashley Greene!
There’s a new dawn breaking at Mark. Avon Products Inc.’s playful beauty and fashion brand for young women has signed “Twilight” starlet Ashley Greene as the Mark brand ambassador.
Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the “Twilight” films, replaces reality-TV-star-turned-designer Lauren Conrad as the face of the brand, as her contract is set to expire.
“Ashley has a natural beauty, but I love that she experiments with fashion,” said Claudia Poccia, global president, Mark. “She mixes it up and makes it her own.” In recent years, Greene, 23, has become a red-carpet stunner, and this season she graces the cover of several glossies, including this month’s Seventeen magazine and the upcoming issue of Women’s Health.
Greene’s career success and support of charitable causes also piqued Mark’s interest. “We have this mission of celebrating young women making their mark on the world,” Poccia said. “Ashley has set goals for herself and is achieving those goals.”
Greene said she first became acquainted with Mark after rifling through a gift bag she received at an event.
“Initially, I was drawn to Mark because of the products,” Greene told WWD. “But what really sealed the deal was its empowering message to young women, which is something I relate to.”
With her natural beauty, I think Ashley will be amazing for Mark. I’m a huge fan of their shimmery lip glosses and I would love to see Ashley’s faves for this line. Way to go Ashley!
