Anna Kendrick defends Twilight fans

Anna Kendrick recently defended the rabid Twilight fan base in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
During a recent conversation with Kendrick, Speakeasy asked the actress about her insider-outsider status. “I just feel really lucky to be in it but not have my privacy completely compromised by it,” Kendrick said. “I’m glad that the paparazzi haven’t followed me every day this year. I do not wish to be in that position.”
Still, Kendrick bristled at the notion that “Twilight” fans, or “Twihards,” are a little overboard. “People like to make fun of the fans who camp out but people have renaissance faires; people do Civil War reenactments; people do what they like,” Kendrick said. “I’m tired of hearing people rag on the fans. If you don’t like ‘Twilight,’ don’t buy a ticket.”

James Franco likes the “explosive” tension of Twilight

Actor James Franco is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Esquire, and during his interview for the mag, he copped up to reading Twilight, and why he’s into it.
There’s a paperback, palm-pinched, cover down, in his right hand, and a big plastic shopping bag full up with something he doesn’t want to show just yet. When asked what he’s reading, Franco smiles his ungrudgingly adolescent smile, a grin as terminally satisfying as the last healthy squeeze on a tube of toothpaste. He is engaging, for just a second, in the mutual diction of actor and artist — “It’s for a project,” he says. But the word — project — thumps out of him unprecious and without bluster, as if he were naming a day of the week. He’s always got something going. He flips the book over. Twilight.Keep in mind: The position of things is such that he doesn’t have to show the book. Had he said Jude the Obscure, no one would have been the wiser. He’s a graduate student, after all, enrolled in two universities at pretty much any given moment. “It’s crazy how much sexual tension there is,” he says. “It just builds and builds. I mean it never stops. It’s sort of explosive by the end. Crazy. Like they’ll blow up with it. And of course, they don’t.” He shrugs then, a good shrug, because he is selling nothing with it. “Which is the point too, I guess.”

Xavier Samuel, among others, named Hollywood’s new Brad Pitt

MSNhas created a list of the nine new “Brad Pitts” of Hollywood, and one of our Twi-guys make the cut.
He always wanted to be a part of showbiz, but thought he would do so through music, because in college he was the lead singer of a band called “Degrees of Freedom.” Later he had the opportunity to be part of one of the most successful franchises of all time: “Eclipse” (2010) and “Breaking Dawn” (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, 2011).

Jackson Rathbone can't wait to see Kristen Stewart as a vamp in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'

Jackson Rathbone ("Jasper Hale") has talked about what he looks forward to most from filming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (which, one should note, will begin filming in November with rehearsals and preparations beginning in October, per Gossip Cop): Kristen Stewart as a vampire!
"I'm really looking forward to seeing Bella's transformation, that's one of the things that has been building up for a while," he explained to E! Online.
"I'm excited to see how Kristen Stewart really works with that. That's going to be fun, she's an incredible actress and, I know this is a pun, but she's chomping at the bit in order to play that transition."

Rathbone went on to state that he has very much enjoyed being part of the Twilight series and that he would be game for a spin-off series devoted to his character.
"Honestly, I would do like Twilight Saga: Origins, Jasper's back story. I'll sign up! I'd get to play an angry civil war vampire again."

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' star Booboo Stewart helps raise $50,000 for America's Toothfairy

Booboo & Fivel Stewart - PR Newswire
Booboo Stewart ("Seth Clearwater" in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and his sister Fivel Stewart were on-hand for Invisalign's Teen Choice Awards campaign this weekend, and they helped to raise $50,000 for America's Toothfairy, an organization that supports pediatric dental health.
Booboo and Fivel Stewart had to pull celebrities attending the Teen Choice Awards aside and ask them to smile for the camera, and $1,000 was donated by Invisalign for each smile.
Included in those that participated (a video montage can be found here) were Alex Meraz ("Paul" in the Twilight Saga), Kiowa Gordon ("Embry Call"), Bronson Pelletier ("Jared"), Charlie Bewley ("Demetri"), Justin Chon ("Eric Yorkie"), and many others.
According to a recent press release, "In addition, five Invisalign Teen treatments have been donated to undeserved youth in the Los Angeles area."

Twilight' star Nikki Reed shares 'True Blood' star's story to raise awareness of Choroideremia

Nikki Reed ("Rosalie Hale" in the Twilight Saga)'s website has become an cool resource for her fans since she began it.
One of her latest entries (with photos her brother Nathan took of her) got a lot of attention, but there was one just before that which carried an even more special message: a story about her Catch .44 co-star (and True Blood's "Jessica") Deborah Ann Woll's boyfriend, E.J., and his disease Choroideremia.
"Although she doesn’t want any recognition in this situation," Reed explains, "They both asked if I would post something about his disease, as not many people know about it, and awareness is the key to making a change."
In the post, E.J. tells his story about he learned of his disease and how it is continually affecting his life.
"In 2003 we found out I had it. Since then I lost a lot of my sight. 2/3. Legally blind is less than 20 degrees in each eye. I don’t drive at all now. I moved to LA to be an actor, and I was having so much trouble with my eyes that I moved to Chicago because it’s a city that really supports Improv and it has a better public transportation system. Now I do unscripted ensemble scenic comedy. My team knows that if they do something in my peripheral they may have to do it again, because I probably didn’t see it. That makes improv challenging. I bump into things, and the introduction to the cane was difficult. I don’t leave without it now."
It really is a touching story. Nikki Reed puts it into context, noting that her Twilight series co-stars have been noted to complain about the impact that the color contacts they must wear on set and that E.J.'s story has helped her to realize how marginal that setback is for the cast.
Since the goal of the post was awareness, you should head over to check it out and learn more.
