Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Not Presenting at the MTV Movie Awards?

The MTV Movie Awards is one of the most anticipated award ceremonies around.  Everyone loves not only to see their favorite celebs show up to actually accept their awards, but to present them as well.  Unfortunately, the Twilight Saga stars, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may not be presenting this time around.
The Twilight series has been chosen in several of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards’ pre-nomination nominations (see here). Last year, to promote The Twilight Saga: New Moon, a large portion of the cast attended, and Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner all presented the first teaser trailer for the film during the show.
For the 2010 Awards, which air on June 6th, none of the cast is listed on MTV’s roster of presenters, particularly “the big three” as pointed out by HitFix.
This doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t attend – after all, they’re all (plus Dakota Fanning) in the running for individual and collective film awards nominations – but as of now, it seems they may not act as presenters.
I was little bummed at first, but as long as they are there…I’ll take it.  After all June 30th is just around the corner!  Who knows, its still early…..maybe they will present an award.

USA Today: “Eclipse Is A Brighter, Faster-Paced Adventure…”

USA Today reporter Susan Wloszczyna had the awesome opportunity to see the Eclipse special screening held by the Oprah Winfrey Show.
She gave the unedited (not even close to ready) version of Eclipse a great review (warning — it there are some spoilers) -
The nearly all-female crowd at the special Oprah show Twilight screening in Chicago on Tuesday night ate up every iconic Eclipse moment as it was played out onscreen - Spoiler Alert! – including Bella’s two kisses with werewolf Jacob and the outdoor tent scene where hot-blooded Jacob spoons with Bella to save her from freezing to death as a seething Edward is forced to watch, reports USA TODAY’s Susan Wloszczyna.
After the rather heavy-hearted events of New Moon, Eclipse is a brighter, faster-paced adventure that is allows more room for humor and also more horrific violence as a marauding band of vicious newborn vampires eventually face off with the blood-sucking Cullen clan and the werewolf pack.
Somehow, director David Slade has turned the gloomy darkness of the popular book series into the perfect light summer fare. Today, stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will tape their Oprah segment for a show that airs May 13. As for Eclipse, fans will have to wait until June 30.

Kristen Stewart To Star In Jack Kerouac’s ‘On The Road’

USA Today reported that Kristen Stewart is to star in Jack Kerouac’s novel On The Road.
Looks as if Kristen Stewart is going On the Road.  And not just because she is doing publicity for the latest Twilight film, Eclipse, opening June 30.
As she told USA TODAY’s Susan Wloszczyna today while in Chicago for an Oprah taping, “I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever. Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in On the Road. So that’s a big deal.”
Filmmakers including Francis Ford Coppola and Gus Van Sant have struggled for years to bring Jack Kerouac’s classic 1957 tale of disaffected members of the Beat Generation to the big screen. Tron: Legacy’s Garrett Hedland will play the confused drifter Dean Moriarity with Stewart as his young wife and British actor Sam Riley (Control) as his traveling pal, Sal. Brazilian director Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries) will direct. Filming is expected to start this summer.

Vote for 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' in new summer 2010 movie poll

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse theatrical poster
'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
Do you think The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be the biggest movie of the summer? Do you look forward to seeing Bella and Edward on-screen more than Bella and Jacob (or vice versa)?
Well, MovieFone is hosting a new summer 2010 movie poll, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and its cast are all over it.
Eclipse is an option for most exciting blockbuster as well as "chick flick" (even though some might contend that this isn't the exact genre for this film).
Also, Robert Pattinson is a choice in the category of which actor you're most excited to see (for his work as Edward in Eclipse), and the Team Edward/Team Jacob dynamic is up for debate in the category of "best on-screen couple."
Jackson Rathbone's The Last Airbender is also up for best family movie.

Book on the historical context of 'Twilight' characters on the way

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
In the Twilight series books, each of the Cullen coven characters was given a unique and interesting historical back-story.
With Edward, he was a turn-of-the-century Chicagoan; with Rosalie, she was a Depression-era New Yorker, and so on.
While the historical frameworks for these characters were alluded to and made instrumental in shaping the characters, some of the finer details about the various eras associated with them were not elucidated in the story.
According to The Mountain Times, a historian and fellow Twilight fan has taken up the task of matching up the history of these characters with their written qualities.
The chapters she authored on Emmett and Jasper, two of the Cullen vampire clan at the heart of the novels, focus on the historical context surrounding the characters. While Jasper, a Confederate soldier before he "changed" fueled her Civil War passion, of particular relevance to this area is her research regarding Emmett, a vampire "changed" in Gatlinburg in 1935.

"I wrote about him, what his life would have been like growing up ... how he both fulfilled and doesn't fulfill a lot of the stereotypes people have about mountain people," she said.

Emmett is particularly interesting because his change happened around the time when mainstream media picked up on the hillbilly stereotype that Appalachia has been trying to shake for generations.

Twilight' series producer Wyck Godfrey reveals the biggest challenge with 'Eclipse'

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
Despite the fact that the Twilight series film franchise stands on the shoulders of the enormously successful book series by Stephenie Meyer, there are still innate obstacles in bringing the films to life and into the public arena, according to Twilight series producer Wyck Godfrey.
Reuters quotes Godfrey to discuss the biggest issue that he and fellow Twilight series filmmakers face in making the films happen - particularly when it comes to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
"The biggest (challenge) is keeping the series fresh and exciting -- for actors, for the crew but most importantly for the audience," said producer Wyck Godfrey. "A new filmmaker brings a new vision."

Joining Pattinson on this list are Johnny Depp, Halle Berry, Thomas Edison, Alan Greenspan, and Steven Spielberg.
You can read more about it here.
As you know, Robert Pattinson was a performer on the soundtracks for both Twilight and How To Be, and a lot of his fans hope that he'll consider releasing an album in the near future.

‘Eclipse’ Screened For ‘Oprah’ Audience: A Roundup Of Reviews And Reactions!

MTV Hollywood Crush has an article with a roundup of reviews and reactions to the Eclipse screening on Oprah.
Check it all out here.

Here is an excerpt:
SPOILERS
There had been some concern after the final “Eclipse” trailer premiered that this third installment in the “Twilight Saga” would sacrifice the love story for the action (apparently everyone forgot the first trailer, which showed us otherwise). The unanimous response was that the love story is definitely still there, and it is very hot and heavy. This means, yes, the leg hitch, the tent scene and Bella and Jacob’s kiss all make the final cut, and, as one Twitter user claimed, were enough to “get her turned on.” And yes, the scene where Bella punches Jacob is also included, though we never doubted that it wouldn’t be in the film.

Kristen Stewart in Elle Magazine June Issue

Elle Magazine has several tidbits from their upcoming issue with Kristen Stewart:
“On the madness that has become her life: “It’s insane! Once somebody finds out, you have to get the hell out of wherever you are. People freak out. And the photographers, they’re vicious. They’re mean. They’re like thugs. I don’t event want to drive around by myself anymore.  It’s f–ing dangerous.”
On her red-carpet demeanor: “People say that I’m miserable all the time. It’s not that I’m miserable, it’s just that somebody’s yelling at me…I literally, sometimes, have to keep myself from crying…It’s a physical reaction to the energy that’s thrown at you.”
KristenGreenElle
On Team Edward vs. Team Jacob: “I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them. People say, ‘Just say who you’re dating. Then people will stop being so ravenous about it.’ It’s like, No they won’t! They’ll ask for specifics.”

LA Times Hero Complex: Profiles the Cullens

The LA Times has a longer version of the piece that appeared last week of that was entitled “Family the Slays Together Stays Together”. The longer version has several new photos.
“”This time around, you get to see their true vampire-ness,” said Peter Facinelli, who plays head vampire Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the series based on the bestselling books by Stephenie Meyer.
The film is being helmed by David Slade, the edgy filmmaker behind “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night.” And if the trailer is any indication, he’s definitely given the franchise a darker sensibility.
“The guys are going to bring their girlfriends to this one, mark my words,” said Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen. “There’s a lot of fighting, a lot of cool stunts. It’s a little darker. The stuff I’ve seen so far is amazing. Amazing. The music is great. Everything is just really captivating. I’m excited to see it, and I’m excited for the fans to see it. The stunts are so cool. It was a bit weird, like for the main battle scene where the newborns come in. I mean, we’re looking at these cardboard cutouts as we’re acting, as we’re supposed to be head-butting creatures. So to see it live on the screen is so cool. And running on the treadmills to do the chase scene was awesome. We were being pulled by a truck going really fast to make it seem like we were running at vampiric speed. To see it on screen, it looks epic.”
