Woman in Film: Kristen Stewart

In anticipation of the International Women’s Day centenary celebrations on 8 March, Sky Movies Showcase HD is set to air films by some of the movie industry’s best female directors and leading ladies. The ‘Women In Film’ season runs from Monday 7 – Sunday 13 March, and will include films such as Thelma & Louise, Erin Brockovich and Cleopatra.
Other nods to the occassion will include a women-only anchor day on Sky News, whilst an all-female episode of The Book Show will be broadcast on Sky Arts. Sky Atlantic will also premiere Christy Turlington’s documentary No Woman, No Cry on 13 March.
To mark the Women In Film season, we’ve selected our top 30 female actresses from some of our favourite movies:
Kristen is known globally thanks to her role as lead character Bella in female sensation The Twilight Saga, but has also enjoyed success in indie titles includingInto The Wild and Adventureland.

Baton Rouge Benefited from Breaking Dawn Filming and Kristen’s Vogue Photoshoot

After four months of shooting, local filming of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn” parts one and two wrapped last week. The movie is the highest-profile project to film in Baton Rouge and brought new national attention to the area.
“The impact from this is remarkable beyond the dollars spent,” says Amy Mitchell-Smith, executive director of the Baton Rouge Film Commission. “Twilight is a pop cultural phenomenon, and this really got the Baton Rouge brand out to the world.”
Mitchell-Smith says the city benefited from publicity, such as star Kristen Stewart talking about staying in Baton Rouge in a recent Vogue magazine cover story.
According to estimates, Breaking Dawn filming pumped $98.2 million into the local economy. Breaking Dawn part one is set for release Nov. 18; the second movie will come out a year later.

Watch out Kristen, your man has a new high-profile admirer.
Reese Witherspoon , 34, who stars opposite “Twilight” hottie Robert Pattinson in the upcoming film “Water for Elephants,” is joining the ranks of Twihards everywhere in her admiration of the leading man.
“I am so lucky,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “He’s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup.”
I mean, he’s just so good-looking and he’s a really nice person,” she gushed.
The pair, who play forbidden lovers in the movie based on a New York Times bestseller of the same title, keep each other smiling on set even after the cameras stop rolling.
“We’ll probably just laugh the whole time, because all we do is just laugh and joke around,” Witherspoon admitted.
Adds Pattinson, 24: “She’s great. I think every time where there’s a love scene, though, I get beaten up.”
This isn’t the first time Witherspoon, who is engaged to talent agent Jim Toth, and Pattinson, who is linked to “Twilight” costar Kristen Stewart have worked together before, however.
For 2004’s “Vanity Fair,” a young Pattinson played an aged Witherspoon’s son – awkward, yet funny, to think about in retrospect, admits Pattinson.
“It seems like it’s been so long ago now,” Pattinson said. “I remember even on the set, I thought I looked too old to be her son.”
The blonde beauty, on the other hand, had a few different thoughts of her own about the casting.
“He was walking down this corridor and I turned to the director and I said, ‘That’s my son? He’s so good looking!’” she remembered. “I was like, ‘He’s so hot!’”
