We previously posted Summit announcing the supporting cast in Breaking Dawn including Ty Olsson. Summit didn’t announce what role the supporting cast will be playing. The Twilight Examiner, Amanda Bell, reported Ty Olsson will be playing Phil Dwyer, Bella’s stepfather. In Twilight, Phil travels constantly playing minor league baseball, so he spent a majority of his time away from his new family. Because of this, Bella chose to move to Forks with her biological father, Charlie Swan, to give Renée and Phil time to be together. Eventually, Phil was able to get a contract signed with the Suns, a minor league baseball team in Jacksonville, Florida, and he and Renée moved there together.
Salt Lake City Magazine interviewed Jodelle Ferland (aka Bree Tanner) at the Eclipse DVD autograph signing on December 18th. BH: “How has your life changed since Eclipse?”
JF: “Well, my life has changed quite a bit, and in a lot of ways it stays the same. I’m still just, you know, a normal girl who enjoys hanging out with friends doing regular things. But, I mean I wouldn’t be here if it hadn’t been for Twilight. I’ve been doing all sorts of conventions, meeting a lot of fans. It’s just so much fun.”
BH: “Do you have any memorable moments from being on Eclipse?”
JF: “Well, I think honestly the whole movie was pretty memorable. Actually, I did have my 15th birthday on set, so that was pretty cool.”
BH: “Did you get a cake?”
JF: “Yeah I did. I had a birthday cake on set. And I mean that is pretty much every girls dream to have,” she smiles and laughs, “a birthday party on the set of Twilight. I was so happy that I got to do that. That was really fun.”
BH: “What movies are you currently working on?”[Source: SaltLakeMagazine via Vampire Club]
JF: “I’m busy busy working on tons of things. I just finished a movie called The Tall Man with Jessica Biel. She was really cool. I loved working with her she is so nice. And over the summer I did a movie called Mighty Fine. That’s with Chazz Palminteri, Andie MacDowell, and me, obviously. So, those should be coming out sometime soon in the future. And I’m really excited for those to come out. I’ve also got a lot of other things which are currently secrets. You’ll find out soon enough.”
BH: “Is it hard to keep all those secrets?”
JF: “Well, it is. Especially when I found out that I got the role in Eclipse. I was not allowed to tell anybody for I think almost a month. Which, it was torture,” she laughs. “I mean when you find out something that’s really really exciting the first thing you want to do is go tell everybody. But I had to keep it to myself.”
BH: “That would be hard. Do you think they will make a movie out of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner?”
JF: “Well, I honestly don’t know if it will be or not. That would be pretty cool if it was. I’m not sure if it will be. It’s a possibility.”
BH: “Another one of those secrets?”
JF: Jodelle laughs. “You know what it’s not even. Everybody thinks I’m just not telling them, but I really don’t know if it will be a movie or not.” Jodelle and I laugh as I decided on my next question.

Michael Sheen (aka Aro) is featured in the December issue of BMI (British Midland International Airline) Voyager magazine. Michael talked about lending his voice to Dr. Griffiths in Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue which out on DVD and Blu-ray now.Sheen’s career trajectory has been meteoric since he first stormed the nation’s stage, prodigiously young, during his second year at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), to star opposite Vanessa Redgrave in When She Danced in London’s West End. He is prolific in film, television and theatre. This autumn he appeared in his third and final TV film about Blair, The Special Relationship, while doing voice-work as Dr Griffiths in Disney’s Christmas DVD release, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue. He steals the show in this year’s Boxing Day blockbuster, Tron: Legacy – a sequel to the Sixties sci-fi classic. And next year, he is reprising his role as the vampire Aro Volturi in the next instalment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, and appearing in Woody Allen’s film, Midnight in Paris. He’s also returning to the stage at London’s Young Vic theatre in the title role of Hamlet.[Source: BMI Voyager via MichaelSheenOnline and VampireClub]
Today, we’re not here to discuss the big-screen roles that have made Sheen’s name, but Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, an animated film that must have been an entirely different challenge.
“The obvious difference between making my usual movies and an animated film is that you are not with other actors,” says Sheen. “Normally on a film, I have a strong sense of what I’m going to do and what I’m going to explore. But with this, you have to put yourself in the hands of the director.”

Deadline.com is reporting that Taylor Lautner is set to star in the Catherine Fisher novel, Incarceron.Lautner will play Finn, who has lived his entire life on Incarceron, a savage, futuristic prison society. He meets the daughter of the warden, who is trapped in her own prison, a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like the 17th Century. She knows nothing of Incarceron except that it exists. She and Finn simultaneously find a crystal key that allows them to communicate and hatch an escape plan for Finn. The film will be produced by John Palermo and Lautner is likely to become involved as a producer as well.
Aside from the final two Twilight Saga films being directed by Bill Condon, Lautner starred in Abduction, the John Singleton-directed thriller from Lionsgate. He’s also booked to star as Stretch Armstrong in the Universal Pictures/Hasbro film. He’s repped by WME and Management 360.[Source: Deadline via TwiExaminer]
Twilight Saga‘s Taylor Lautner has become attached to star in Incarceron, the Fox 2000 adaptation of the Catherine Fisher young adult novel. The film is being written by Adam Cooper & Bill Collage, who are among the writers behind the Brett Ratner-directed Universal comedy Tower Heist, and who are writing Moby Dick for Timur Bekmambetov and Moses for Fox and Peter Chernin.
Julia Jones (aka Leah Clearwater) attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle’s Miss Golden Globe 2011 Introduction in West Hollywood, California on December 9th.
The LA Times is reporting that Dakota is leaving If I Stay and will not tackle any lead roles until after high school.EXCLUSIVE: Fans of Dakota Fanning were keen on the teen actress tackling a serious dramatic role as the lead in the supernatural drama “If I Stay.”But a source familiar with the film said that, after the announcement in October that the star would take on the part, Fanning has opted not to make the movie, which leaves her without a new leading role (and also, incidentally, throws the project into question).
On Thursday afternoon a representative for the star confirmed she would not shoot the film and chalked it up to the actress’ desire to finish her senior year of high school. The representative said that Fanning will shoot the two “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” films (in which she plays Jane, a role that brings a decidedly lighter workload), and may shoot a smaller independent movie. But she will not take on any significant roles until after she graduates this spring.
Based on Gayle Forman’s young-adult novel about a teenage musician, her boyfriend and a fatal car accident, “Stay” has been a high priority for “Twilight” studio Summit.[Source: LATimes]
But the project has now lost its star after previously losing a director (Catherine Hardwicke was attached before leaving to shoot the dark fable “Red Riding Hood;” she has been replaced by a Brazilian filmmaker named Heitor Dhalia.) The studio also might have some reservations about the film in the wake of the poor performance of another supernatural teen drama, “Charlie St. Cloud,” earlier this year. A Summit spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The sales from The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella raised $1.5 million for the American Red Cross!NEW YORK, NY (December 13, 2010) – Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group, and Stephenie Meyer have donated 1.5 million dollars to the American Red Cross International Response Fund from their proceeds from The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella. As previously announced, one dollar for each book sold in the US from the first printing would go to the American Red Cross. The donation was made today by Hachette Book Group CEO David Young and Little, Brown Books for Young Readers Publisher Megan Tingley to The American Red Cross Senior Vice President of International Services David Meltzer.Read more after the break!
“I’m so grateful that Little, Brown, the American Red Cross, and my fans made this generous gift possible,” said Stephenie Meyer. “It’s amazing to have the opportunity to help those so greatly in need.”
“We’ve had the incredible great fortune to have one of the biggest publishing phenomenons in recent years along with The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner becoming one of the top selling titles of 2010,” said Hachette Book Group CEO David Young. “Giving back is extremely important to the company, so it is particularly gratifying to be able to share our success with an organization as worthy as The American Red Cross.”
[Source: TwilightFB.After the devastating earthquake in Haiti on January 12th the International Response Fund (IRF) afforded the American Red Cross the ability to provide immediate funding for food and other urgently needed emergency relief items.
“The generous contribution of Little, Brown to the IRF is essential to the ability of the American Red Cross to provide help and hope for people during their darkest hours,” said David Meltzer of the American Red Cross. “After the devastating Haiti earthquake, which took the lives of more than 230,000 people, the IRF allowed us to quickly purchase, ship and distribute aid. The Red Cross is extremely grateful for the support Little, Brown is providing toward our humanitarian mission.”
In the weeks and months following the Haiti earthquake, the American Red Cross worked with the global Red Cross network and other partners to secure enough food for 1 million people for one month; provide tarpaulins to one of out every three homeless people in Port-au-Prince; and vaccinate almost 1 million children and their parents against common diseases like diphtheria, tetanus, pertusis, measles and rubella. Since the early days of the response, the Red Cross has also provided safe, drinkable water for approximately 250,000 in the capital each day.
The International Response Fund allows the American Red Cross to partner with other Red Cross societies immediately following large-scale disasters by providing financial assistance and relief supplies and by deploying trained disaster relief staff. For example, in the last year the IRF has supported the American Red Cross response to the floods in Pakistan, the earthquake in Chile and the aftermath of Hurricane Tomas in the Caribbean to name just a few disasters. The IRF also supports a number of other humanitarian services around the world, including global health programs to combat HIV/AIDS, measles and malaria, disaster preparedness projects, reconnecting families separated by disaster and war, and educating American students about the humanitarian rules in war.
“This kind of donation helps us provide a depth and breadth of services which is hard to match,” said Meltzer. “Last year, the American Red Cross helped 68 million people through programs funded by the International Response Fund.”
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner has become one of the biggest selling titles of 2010 and has dominated bestseller lists both in the US and around the world. The novella, the first new work from Meyer in nearly two years, debuted at #1 on the USA Today, Wall Street Journal and IndieBound bestseller lists as well as bestseller lists in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the UK.
In five years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. The Twilight Saga’s translation rights have been sold in nearly 50 countries and 116 million copies have been sold worldwide.

EW.com has a new article pointing out the best parts from the now infamous Eclipse commentary with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson on the Eclipse DVD and Blu-Ray.The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hit DVD and Blu-ray over the weekend, and the commentary track provided by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart is among the highlights. Listening to it, you realize two things: She really hated the wig she had to wear (her hair was still Joan Jett short from filming The Runaways), and this could be the longest you’ve ever heard them talk as themselves. She’s a lot looser than she was on the commentary for the first film, and he’s even more willing to comically question Bella’s and Edward’s motives. They laugh constantly — especially throughout their disagreements below about whether Bella should continue her friendship with Jacob even though she knows it upsets Edward. He may just have been pushing her buttons (had they been in the same city when recording the track, he would have been slapped, playfully, repeatedly), but he might also be on to something: Is there a double standard when it comes to women in relationships being able to have male friends but men in relationships not being able to have female friends?

Pattinson: I just don’t get that. I don’t get your decision-making process to leave here. I didn’t even understand it at the time. I was just like, “I gotta break up with you immediately.” [He's] like, “Please, please don’t go. Don’t leave me, don’t leave me, please.” And [she's] like, “Shut up. I’m gonna go with this guy who wants to cheat, who wants to sleep with me” or whatever.
Stewart: Whoa.
Pattinson: I just said the wrong word. “Who wants to kiss me, who wants to hold my hand.” [Laughs]
Stewart: Shut up… I mean, that’s the whole first argument that they had in the beginning is she’s allowed to have other relationships.
Pattinson: Why? No, she’s not allowed to have other relationships.
Stewart: And she knows him a way that you don’t know him…. It’s cool. It’s sweet that he’s being–
Bella’s greeted by the shirtless wolf pack.
Pattinson: Geez, if I ever saw my girlfriend go around to this bunch of guys’ house with all their little bellies out [Both laugh]… and their fake-tanned nipples and their iron-on tattoos.
Stewart: Edward is just a little bit more mature than you.
Pattinson: Mature?
Stewart: Yep.
Pattinson: Nah.
Stewart: He can handle it. He’s a little bit more secure.
Pattinson: Let me just ask you something… Did the weather affect shooting today? [Laughs]
Stewart: Let’s look at the wig. We can just judge by that.
The third instalment in the Twilight Saga franchise, Eclipse, was released on DVD and Blu ray on Saturday, December 6, and reached over 3 million in copies sold in two days. Which falls short when compared to Twilight and New Moon’s opening sales -Twilight Eclipse DVD and Blu-Ray sales numbers have just been released, and while they’re unequivocally strong, the figures don’t align with that of the previous installments in the Twilight Saga.movie seriesMore after the break!
Eclipse’s Home Video Market debut commenced at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, December 4th, 2010, trading in the usual Tuesday release that has become customary for DVD and Blu-Ray releases.
Like the past Twilight movies, this effectively allowed fans of the series, many of which are either in school or work, to organize release parties and/or stay up late to purchase their copy of Eclipse right away.
According to Summit Entertainment, Twilight Eclipse sold slight more than 3 million Blu-Ray and DVD copies together during its first two days of release, December 4, 2010 and December 5, 2010. That is substantially less than both the number of units Twilight sold during its first two days of release in 2009, as well as what Twilight New Moon sold just earlier this year. You can read the rest of the article over at BoxOfficeSpy!
For comparisons sake, 3.8 million copies of Twilight were snatched up during its first two days of release 2009, and Twilight New Moon sold just slightly more than 4 million copies through its first two days on the market, following its release on March 23rd, 2010.
While this might come as a surprise to many, it’s very important to note that Twilight (2008) and Twilight New Moon made their DVD and Blu-Ray debut during the month of March, versus December release for Twilight Eclipse.
The change in the season presents drastic changes in the market, and the December frame is incredibly more crowded than March, which is immediately evident by the release of The Last Airbender, and Knight and Day, but even more importantly the Home Media Market premiere of Inception and Shrek 4 just yesterday.
