Stephenie Meyer considered 'biggest brightspot for the industry' last year
Yahoo!'s most recent "Who Knew?" video features Twilight series author Stephenie Meyer, and it reports that, where last year is concerned, she became the "biggest brightspot for the industry" in the face of overwhelming sales declines.
The number one topseller for the year, according to the report, was New Moon, and it was followed by Eclipse, Twilight, and Breaking Dawn.
New Moon was published in 2006, and it hit the best-seller list almost right away. Chances are, its accelerated popularity in 2009 has something to do with the fact that The Twilight Saga: New Moon was filmed and released to theaters that same year.
Pretty good for books being celebrated at Banned Books Week for being among the "most-challenged"!
