Nikki Reed doesn’t want to be limited to just acting. She also wants to try her hand at directing and producing. Here is what she told Hollywood Life at the screening of her newest film Last Day of Summer last night in Los Angeles.
“I directed a music video a few months ago, which was really awesome, and is a direction I want to move in,” the 22-year-old starlet told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the LA premiere of her new film, Last Day of Summer, Sept.22. “[I want to do more] directing, producing – just creating. I feel like this industry has so much to offer and at times it’s so easy to just get stuck in one category and, to be honest, that category is really full right now.”Read more here.
It’s true that there’s a lot of competition from fellow talented starlets like her Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, Wall Street 2’s Carey Mulligan and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s Rooney Mara, all of whom have consistently scored major roles. “There are a lot of young actresses out there right now,” Nikki shrugged. “We’re in a confusing time right now because reality television has changed the industry, and models are becoming actors. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I just feel like at this point in time, I’d rather step into a field where there’s more room for me to be an individual as opposed to being eaten alive in a world filled with so much competition.”
